I love watching your videos, I have a T-Bird that has no paint on it and is missing the windshield, just flat black paint on the hood and roof. Would love to have it restored. Being a DAV I can't afford the equipment. Great work on all you do. Thanks for posting these!
I remember in early 70s the only cars you could find at store was the Thunderbird, everyone bought the Camaro and chargers and AMC cars , i liked the ones that hood opened , someone made some that trunk and doors opened too , i like all hot wheels great job on this you are an artist
God I remember having this exact car as a kid but it didn't last me I had an older brother that just to make me cry he would crush my cars . Great job on the restoration 👍
I do love your videos, unlike others, your banter is very funny as well as informative, it makes me smile which I’d great. The banter makes the video so much. Thank you and keep it up 🤗
you will get more, be ten or twenty vids before you know it and looks like you base is growing pretty steady. you have a good personality and voice for this kind of work
Your Channel is great I found these hot wheels resto videos by accident I’m a gun guy and so I appreciate fine mechanical work but I’m not personally interested in hot wheels but I find the videos fun to watch what sets you aside is you’ve got personality that makes it great for the layman to watch keep up the good work
You should set up a online auction for one of your resto's, great way to come up with some coin and give us a chance to own one of those beautiful restorations!
Fantastic Job! Maybe you can try soda blasting it with baking soda and getting in the pits a little deeper then plate it for a few minutes, clean it and sand it and keep plating it until you get the desired affect. Kinda like painting layers. It would be cool to see you experiment with it in any case. Thanks fore the great vid.
That brings back memories! Dad bought a 1971 T-Bird in brown metallic with black vinyl top, and I used to have a matching Hot Wheels very close to what you just re created...Why did it say 1967 T-Bird as that was a totally different car that my dad had and traded up for the 71! Great job!
You can get a roll of zinc made for cedar shake roofing. I think it's called moss stop, cuz that's what it does. The last of of our cdn. pennies were made of zinc (I use them as washers) You might have to get rid of the copper plating on them, but a good cheap zinc source. Cool T-Bird.
I am rather surprised that you don't "prime" the body before applying your finish color. But I understand why - you want the finish of the body / metal to show thru the color - almost like a super high-gloss paint finish! The finish on the top turned out great! Nice job and thanks for sharing with us.
Somewhere there's a guy out there who's is like 'Why is my boat corroding'😂 Very interesting to watch the plating process and it came out really nice. Really great video👍So which Redline beauty is next?🤔😊
Love your restoration videos I found your channel when I was watch baremetal restoration videos I can't wait till I can restore my cars or customize them
Once again an excellent restoration. I find these videos or any videos about Hot Wheels cars to be very relaxing and takes my mind off negative things like politics. I've been getting into collecting diecasts. It's a nice hobby. Although I wish I could restore all the cars I ruined as a kid. That's the only thing that makes me sad about it. But still, I marvel at your fantastic work. You remind of another diecast restorer called Marty's Matchbox Makeovers, and I discovered your channel thanks to seeing recommendations for your videos while watching him. You probably won't read since this is months old, but thanks for calming me down when I was angry. 😁
@@DiecastResurrection I'm curious. Do you have a PO box? Because I have a car that's in bad shape and I think it'd be right up your alley. It's an XT-3. I think it would be in better off in your hands.
You do some great work on these. I've been enjoying a number of the Redline Restoration vids. I have a number of hot wheels that aren't really collectible dates or quality but, I use them as gaming/scenery pieces in miniatures battles. Thing is, I noticed that neither you nor the other experts ever paint or blackwash the interiors, grills and other parts. I'm sure that's because you are trying to maintain a level of "collectible authenticity" by keeping it as close to spec as possible. I am very curious about what you'd do to amp up the level or "realism" on a car that wasn't a true collectible by date or type. Or even if you've ever tried to do something like that. Great content man. Thanks for sharing this with us. Makes me miss my old hot wheels collection.
You can take a page from the full-size body guys and the plastic modelers, and use a bit of putty to fill the imperfections. I recommend the Squadron white putty. Since it's softer thant he metal , when you sand, it will wear away much faster then the surrounding base metal, allowing you to get flawless surfaces for the paint. The better the base, the better the paint job.
Diecast Resurrection, I realized that after I watched a few more of your videos, which are very entertaining, btw. Back when I ran r/c cars, which are clear Lexan, we used similar paints, and in order to get the similar effect, we put the color on first, then backed the color with either silver or gold metallic. ( you paint the underside of the body, so the paints go on in reverse order). Maybe you could use solder?
This one turned out awesome! I see you have the sink plating setup, but have you ever tried to use it to remove the oxidation in the reverse setup? Like they sometimes do with old rusty tools.
Prices for these are outrageous in 2024. Fun to look back and see your previous techniques. Hope you come back someday!
Thank you for the lesson on the metal freckles. I'm gonna be doing my own diecast customization in the future.
Very nice! One of my favorites, '67 big Bird! Nice color choice, love the vinyl roof! As always, well done!
Glad to hear you are having fun! That is key. Thank you, brings back great childhood memories!!
Manifie super cool restorasion 😊
Absolutely amazing, I find your videos and Marty's matchbox makeovers vids to be so relaxing. Great job.
Thanks brother!
I like the self tapping screws idea. Great job!

This seems like it would be so therapeutic. I never thought there was so much you could do on hot wheels cars. Great vids!! Keep it up.
It’s pretty satisfying getting one completed :)
Totally beautiful paint job and I love the color! Fabulous job overall on this restoration.
What a beautiful job👏👍I have a lot of custom t-birds that I cannot wait to restore...
Turned out amazing, the black roof looks like the real deal! Love the sound effects!
That color of brown is beautiful.
That came out incredible
Best vinyl top reproduction I've seen so far.
God I remember having this exact car as a kid but it didn't last me I had an older brother that just to make me cry he would crush my cars . Great job on the restoration 👍

Beautiful colour, pops nicely
great job...I love that color, and the vinyl top came out really nice.
Best restoration channel!! Number of videos is rapidly growing and always the most enjoyable and informative narration.
I've never seen that root beer color before and I love it. Might be my new favorite.
That looks like a perfect root beer tone. Many times I see it too dark. Nice job.
Looks Like the car "T-Bird" drove in the movie The Crow. Great custom resto!
My budget has spray cans so your doing better than me. You have a very comforting voice and enjoy your videos. Beautiful restoration.
The year I was born cool. came out beautiful dude.
Really cool to see the plating process.
Not gonna lie, glad you started measuring the hardener lol, GREAT job!!
That's what she said.
That color came out awesome
Great job!!, enjoyable to watch, thanks for NO music!!

what's a gun guy.. is it the same as a Trump guy?
Be a Hot Wheels guy, not a gun guy.
Same with me I found this by accident, love to see the restoration, I also played with those cars when I was young, but guns are fun
get work man - always luved the blue spectra, but rootbeer is becoming a new fave!
It made my day to hear those car imitations XD
That is a real nice restoration 👍.... can't wait fir your next one Ace 😉😄
You should set up a online auction for one of your resto's, great way to come up with some coin and give us a chance to own one of those beautiful restorations!
All the cars go to my Patrons, sold out right now though. No more spots available. Sorry
Nice work - love the colour.

"Reading's for rich people". So true, Ferris, so true.
Hahaha!
Also for poor people who aren't willing to condemn their children to living as slaves on a planet plundered by rich people.

Sir the paint is transparent over a zinc plated body, I can’t use filler unless it was lead or something metal.
