To be fair the atmosphere looked dead compared to the Bathurst 12 Hours. It's like Supercars turned-up after the party ended . They should have started the season at the Adelaide street circuit instead.
Seems you aren't aware that the state government has a contract to have the season opening round in NSW. Since Newcastle city council cancelled their contract with Supercars, the only options were Eastern Creek or Bathurst
I’ve only been following SC for 2 years, I’ve come from following F1 for 30years and NOTHING makes me smile more than hearing all those v8’s thunderously thrapping on the start line. I love watching Larko doing his infos and his Larkoisms and I’m loving learning about something different. Let’s not be so negative about our motorsports because one day all these v8’s will be gone and we really will be crying about it then!

Now they complain about SVG having gone away and Brodie sitting out two races. What a bunch of numb skulled muppets!
People complain no matter what. You could have the absolute perfect race where we get a bit of everything (hard racing, many lead changes, a big crash, underdog running up front, multiple pit strategies, etc.) and people would STILL find something to complain about.

What an um, ahem, wonderful race! Seeing the entire pack cross the line under a safety car really floats my boat. Especially after some bloke hits the wall in the same spot for the second time in the race, with one lap to go. Awesome. Supercars aren't a shadow of what they were.
I would be furious if I was Brown because yes, they gave you priority but they underfilled the second car for track position which is king with the Gen3 car. Brown officially #2 driver.

25 to 24 cars. Next yeat probably 23 or 22. We need a supercar made in australia resembling the falcon and commodore that has cheap parts and high modularity. It needs to be cheap to enter. Bigger fields too, more race days. Or this sport is gone. Currently enjoying TA2 muscle cars more.
Supercars is in a bad place right now. Losing SVG, Kostecki and McLaughlin in the space of 3 years is really bad. That's the equivalent of F1 losing Hamilton, Verstappen and Alonso. Then trying to market the sport when the best drivers aren't there and no defending champion on the grid. The fanbase goes down the toilet as does the viewership.
Not sure we needed to start the year with a sprint race at Bathurst when it’s a short season and so many other tracks missed out and obviously has nothing on the Bathurst 1000 which is the highlight of the season….
This was a tereble opener to the season, the safty cars littery didnt do anything, i still cant find out what hapend to cam waters and dang the urebus iverys was bland.
This race should be run clockwise. It would create enormous interest and preserve the status of the ‘great race’. Very few safety measures would be required to make this happen. Come on! Wake up and think!!!!!!
Dont think it would work in terms of safety - there would be no run-off going up conrod straight, no gravel trap at the end of the front straight etc. etc.
@@zchettaz there is no run off at the top of mountain straight either. I think the only major addition would be run off at the bottom of mountain straight. Across the top if you get it wrong you hit the walls anyway.
@@peternagel-er7ly Yes but drivers can go around Griffins bend alot faster than they could forrest elbow and there has been times where they go around 3 wide, where forrest elbow would only be a single file turn considering how steep it is there, so given alot of overtaking gets done under braking it wouldn't allow any room for error. I mean, you could try put a tyre barrier there like Griffins bend, but it would need to be bigger than that one given cars would reach a higher speed. Dont get me wrong, i like the idea, it would certainly make things interesting, but i just cant see them doing it for safety.

I can't get over how much drafting sucks in these cars, these bricks couldn't carve a knife through hot butter. How can you not get any drafting benefit at one of the best straights in the country, hasn't been good in the gen 3's at all, thinking back to hidden valley last year and cars would have no yield going down the straight to the car in front.
Its so funny to see how marshals Are just watching how a wheel runs. How hard is to go quick to get that wheel and run fast back with that wheel when there where no cars near....
I'm from Europe and i used to love v8 supercars, watched races whenever i could, but this is looking more and more like american style of racing, and that is not appealing at all...
It was a good race but wasn't it advertised as Bathurst 500 not a 250 klm race one day and 250klm race on the second day....... How long is it before they start splitting up the Bathurst 1000 into 4 races just so they can gleam more money from sponsors and the viewing public like they have already done on the other "enduro" races.
Same as any of the so-called “500” races besides Sandown. Adelaide and GC spring to mind immediately. Was so much better when it was a three race enduro cup, with the QLD 500 at QR, Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000
I know it’s been 2 decades since purist Holdens and Fords…but it’s such a shame they’ve gone the way of the dodo… quintessentially Australian V8s will be sadly missed from the mountain… tyre cam… it’s on a journey 😂
The circuit is boring with the scaletrix chase, make conrod straight again, braking duels we’re the beauty of this track, bugger the international rules, sign a waiver and bring the track back up to dead scarey status. Trust me, ever since the Caltex chase, I’ve stopped watching it. Bathurst used to ne my Xmas day in regard to once a year spectacle, only the shootouts worth watching.against a clock.
