    Hello; I live in Arizona. And I planted a blood orange tree in a big pot for the backyard. It's starting to blossom, but it's a little bushy and grown tall. All the blossoms are on the lower part of the tree. My question is, can I cut the tall top part off to where the bushy part is? It's still fairly young, and I don't want to hurt it.

    After the HOUSTON freeze, the Meyer Lemons did come back from the root. What I know have is multiple off shoots. My desire is a lemon tree, so advise me what and when I need to prune the multiple shoots. Thanks.

    My 2 years lemon citrus pretty much only have one big main trunk grow just upstraight with almost no branches, it"s height about 170 cm, and still no fruit. Is it safe to just cut it in half from the top bc I'd rather want it to grow branches to the sides. Sorry for bad english. Thank you great vid.

    Question about the bottles on the tree??

  • @Joy-ne8sj
    @Joy-ne8sj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why are there bottles on your tree, is it for pretty, or to help blossoms not freeze?
    Edit: Lol! Just realized it’s made out of metal.

    Question, should we eventually plant the citrus plant/tree in the ground? Or can it stay i a huge pot?

    • @mikepurcell83
      @mikepurcell83 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the ground

    • @jennhoff03
      @jennhoff03 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not an expert, but I asked when I was at the Arbor Gate and was told that you can grow them in containers. I know that the MI Gardener has videos about it, as that's the ONLY way to grow citrus up north! So my best guess is that you can keep it in a container, provided you keep pruning it to stay a manageable size.

      Bottle trees are a southern tradition. They believe the evil spirits that got out when the wine was drank will find their way back and be trapped in the bottle
