Since I’ve been watching your channel, I do enjoy it and find it really useful thank you, but when I’m at my allotment I can’t help doing jobs while thinking in your accent 😂 I’m from Sheffield originally but been on the south coast for 23 years. But now when I’m at the garden I’m like “ that plants a bit tired” “best tek that folidge off” “that weren’t a bad arvest at all” lol a bit of Ivan visiting Purbrook East allotments just north of Portsmouth. Keep up the good work mate 👍

Ivan, I just wanted to say thank you for your channel. As a new gardener I’ve subscribed to several TH-cam gardening channels but yours is the the only one I come back to for hard facts and direction. Particularly when it comes to the question ‘what do I need to do today then.’
Thank you and please keep going.

Thank you Ivan. You give me the inspiration to keep going. I didn’t even get any springonions this yr, they’ve just not grown. Maybe I’ll try again .

I love listening to your videos, sound common sense, I used to live in Derbyshire also a spell in Nottinghamshire, I now live in Cornwall but listening to your accent reminds of happy times in those places. I’m thinking of putting some carrot seeds in my greenhouse bed, I know it’s late but it’s been unusually warm and you never know, I might get some small ones for Christmas dinner.

Thanks Ivan, for this great update, I've been growing radish, carrots spring onions lambs lettuce etc for a few weeks now and I'll sow some spinach and maybe some little gem lettuces as long as I can. I will use a lot of them on sandwiches and my misses will be taking some of it to work for herself and her friend as they usually make up some healthy lunches together. Take care and all the best. Stevie

Apparently if you put onions or leeks near your carrots it deters the carrot root fly

Hi Ivan lovely to see your plants esp the spinach, its so healthy and lush. Is it possible to sow spinach in Septemeber in raised beds or do they need to be under protection now? And what about beetroot, is it too late to sow some seeds now? I do have some seedlings for beetroots and was wondering if theyre bettet going ina cold frame or the raised bed?

Your videos are so inspiring Ivan thanks for all the advice. I’ll be sowing some more winter leaves today… especially lambs lettuce. Who knew my favourite salad leaf was sooo cold hardy. Also I’ve used your tomato recipes and now I’ve got a lovely store of sauces and in the cupboard and the freezer. I usually just freeze tomatoes whole but this year things are going to be different. 👏👏👏

I finally got some seeds planted and they are sprouting now. It is still 100F so I've got them all in a shaded area.

Good morning all, Monday here again 😢. Another great and educational video thank you Ivan. Can someone answer a couple of questions. I have just bought some everbearing strawberry runners can I plant these in a small tub ?. Can I grow strawberries in the same large growbag with carrots ?. Ivan I have just bought a fair few packs of veggie seeds can I sow these in a propagator with lights then plant out in either buckets or my raised bed it will be having a fleece over it.
Thank you all and thank you Ivan 👍

Hi Andrew yes Carrots & Strawberries grow fine together & yes they will grow fine in containers and they prefer loose soil as do carrots
      Thank you
