    Nothing wrong with this limage !!, it looks fantastic, being older it amazes me how the tech and people's grasp of the subject has evolved especially in the last few years.. Well done 👍👍..

      Thank you. Yes, it is amazing how recent technology made astrophotography accessible to the masses (relatively speaking). Thank you for watching my video.

    Love the video! I am a student and just recently inherited my dads old photo gear which is a Canon 5D DSLR and I bought a cheap used 72ED. Still not well adapted in the astrophotography, but it's videos like this that really drives me. I want to be able to capture the sky like you as well. Thank you very much for the motivation and keep up the great work!

      Thank you very much! I'm waiting for more clear night here in the Great Lakes (rare this time of the year) to produce more videos like this one. In the meantime, I plan on adding "processing" how-to videos using my past images.

    Very good, I have the SV503 on an iOptron ieQ 30 Pro. My Astrophotography set up consists of the ZWO ASI 294MC Pro, and for guidance I am using a ZWO ASI 290MINI coupled to a ZWO 30mm f/4 finder. I am still learning the software (NINA) for the cameras and PHD2 for guiding. So far I have not gotten as far as you have but as you probably know, the learning curve is a bit steep.

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Yes, the learning curve is definitely there, even for me, who's been a professional photographer for 12 years. M33 is a relatively easy target. I've been doing mostly narrowband nebula imaging in the last few months, now, those are more challenging. I'm planning on making a video how I processed my Pac Man nebula (which is featured in the intro slide show of this video.)

    Great video and great result! Do the subs show any chromatic aberration with this telescope?

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. There is some chromatic aberration, in the blue channel mainly. But nothing bad, and it's fixable. When I use a dual narrowband filter for nebulas (e.g. IDAS NBZ) there is virtually no CA because the filter rejects the wavelengths that cause CA. So when imaging with narrowband filters one less thing to worry about :)

    Very nice! Just goes to show you don't need all the super expensive 'toys' to get good results. I've been buying some SVbony accessories and have been very pleased with their build quality and I just may get one of their refractors hopefully before they raise the prices because of demand! lol I did just get their SV41 spotting scope which is a 70mm Mak for use at the rifle range and it looks very nice. Certainly smaller and lighter than the AstroTech 66 I have been lugging there. Haven't used it yet but will soon.

    Hello, great video. I am about to pull the trigger on the risingcam IMX571. Any issues you have found that I should be aware of ? Thanks.

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a great camera, no issues, except for one I discovered when using it with my 8" Meade ACF SCT. And it may be just how the cooling fan was seated inside my camera, but I noticed that the cooling fan had vibrations that were slightly visible in the photos as blurred stars. When I turned off the cooling (and the fan) the image was sharper. So I ordered a Noctua replacement fan ($10 or so) and replaced the original with the Noctua fan. The slight blur and vibrations were gone.
      But again, it was only visible at higher focal length. I never noticed that when I was using my SVbony 102mm refractor (the one in this video.)

    • @ppoinha
      @ppoinha ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gabebalazsphoto I also have a HD8 SCT, so I might have to do the same, but it is great to know that is the only issue so far 🙂

    Great video and pictures get yourself 3 pavers for around $2.00 each. They will make a huge difference in the grass especially if it is sinking during the night.Also make sure to level the tripod before putting on the mount. This will help make guiding more consistent and if you can leave the pavers there even better. Getting same scope in 5 more days.

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I plan on using pavers, and should have used them for this video too (yes, a cheap and simple solution). I just didn't buy them in time for the video :) But great tip, thank you!

    Do you have 2 guide scopes? I very rarely see guide figures under 1 arc second, I average 1.5-1.8 arc seconds

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I only have one, the other one if a finder scope. I managed to fine tune my mount, and use tricks here and there to achieve a sub 1 guiding on a regular basis.

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. This setup is about $2,200 used prices. The camera is the most expensive part, cheaper cameras can produce results that are fairly close, I even used it with a Sony A6000 mirrorless occasionally that was converted to Hydrogen Alpha mode.

      @Luftbubblan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gabebalazsphoto Awesome. That's not too bad and results are very good. I have the same brand / sensor camera but mono version of it. My build is also sorta budget oriented even tho its much more expensive($10.000-$15.000).

    • @gabebalazsphoto
      @gabebalazsphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I started out with a DSLR and a telephoto lens, on a stationary photo tripod, shooting 1 sec exposures, over 1,000 of them :) You have to start somewhere. Then later I rigged my camera and lens onto a Meade DSX alt-AZ mount (a cheap go to mount with plastic gears.) and my subs went up to 6 to 8 seconds, woohooo! :) Then I bought an iOptron Skyguider Pro which was a huge boost for my astro images, even with the rest of the setup being the same.
      I'm actually planning on using my Sony mirrorless, 70-200 2.8 GM lens, and the Skyguider Pro tonight to capture a wider view of the Orion nebula and the flame and horsehead. Unfortunately, the camera is not Ha modified, so it won't capture most of the red Hydrogen emissions. But it's going to be my secondary rig. My 102mm refractor will be aimed at the soul nebula tonight. Hopefully the weather will stay clear tonight for a few hours...
