I love the concept of exploring the other 364 days of the year. I imagine two coworkers looking at each other with disdain as they slide their finger across their neck, because they can't hurt each other. Just a lot of tension until they get to purge each other's brains out and finally realize, they're in love.
Holy shit! I love the idea of a boss sneaking around on purge night jumping out and screaming your FIRED! Then running away. They need to make a purge spoof movie where is all little illegal crimes, like double parking and the driver evil laughing.
Breeding will go back in time to destroy the cracked server to stop the future apocalypse his long form content causes in the future, it will however turn out the good Dr is infact the original founder, he then had to find and engineer the hiring of the entire cracked team from scratch himself, sneakily incept the ideas in to everyone... He's done the work already, to prevent a sci-fi Sharknado related apocalypse... Poor Jordan!
The kids being willing to kill someone over a candy bar is something that is another missed possibility. There is an entire generation of kids who grew up with constant yearly brutal violence. But its never explored and its just used as a excuse for flat antagonists.
I can tell you EXACTLY what happens the day after the Purge. A sick ass BBQ at my house from all the steaks and burgers I stole from Costco. Purge day also covers breaking and entering and also theft.
I love the contrast between the radio the day before the Purge and everyone talking about what they want to do during the Purge. And in the credits the people on the radio talking about how they lost family members, or what they lost during the Purge
The whiplash of Movie #2 saying "real change can only occur when rich people are shot and killed" and Movie #3 saying "your vote could make the difference!" is a hell of a thing
It's like they chickened out after the 2nd movie. Or someone in their marketing department said "Tone it down, we'll get restricted by the FCC and other agencies if we actually show a revolution on film."
I love how the Purge explores the fascinating concept of "what if once a year everyone acted like Jessie Eisenberg's Lex Luthor and you somehow found yourself totally unprepared?"
Ha well that's why they only have three "real" Purge movies. The first purge is a brand new baby one and the forever purge is nonsense. Even in the third movie they had to introduce a new rule.

TIME SPLITTERS 2! YES! My best friend and I 100%'d that game. We got gold trophies in every single challenge and bonus thing. We were obsessed. We tried to play again years later, but we couldn't even beat the 1st level on normal difficulty. The 14 year old versions of us were very disappointed.

24:04 I would ASSUME that every single insurance company has a policy that would state "We ain't paying out for anything that happens during The Purge". Though REALISTICALLY, I don't think killing would even be a big thing if The Purge was real. This movie treats killing as though the cast majority of people are harboring some intense will to kill... When I feel like killing would almost EXCLUSIVELY be an incidental act. What I mean is, realistically, 90% of people would be way too scared to go out in The Purge. And 90% out of that remaining 10% would be people stealing, looting, and doing heists... And the killing would occur when people are taking, or it would be the people killing people trying to take stuff from them. But what about stuff like a Purger forcing someone to sign their house and belongings over to them? Would that be legally held up after the purge is over? And what about Cyber-Crime? You can't kill government officials, but what about e-robbing the government? What about e-robbing foundational businesses? There are just way too many things to consider for the Purge to ever work. But the only thing I know FOR SURE is that insurance companies would have some kind of "Purge Exclusion" clause.
The Purge doesn't even remotely makes sense economically because no businesses either domestic or foreign would want to invest in a country or state that their own employees could potentially kill them at any given moment as soon as the annual Purge begins. This is especially true for disgruntled underpaid and/or overly ambitious employees whom would easily scheme to kill their superior(s) in order to advance in the corporate rank. The entire country economy would quickly tank because no businesses would want to risk their own wellbeing getting eliminated by the same people they hire to work for them. The only way that businesses owners and executives could ever hope to live through the Purge is those top 1% that are incredibly wealthy and privileged enough to afford something like a bunker or skyscraper with reinforced entrances and security personnel that are paid enough to not turn on them.

Another issue with the day after the Purge, what do you do with the bodies? It is illegal to desecrate, transport, or pretty much do anything to a body.... does the government have a like cleaning crew you call?
Yeah I imagine it’s just like any other catastrophe. Just a lot of government cleanup. Remember the point is largely to reduce homeless people, so the government is presumably fine with the effort/cost.

And what about Cyber-Crime? You can't kill government officials, but what about e-robbing the government? What about e-robbing foundational businesses?
There are just way too many things to consider for the Purge to ever work. But the only thing I know FOR SURE is that insurance companies would have some kind of "Purge Exclusion" clause.
The Purge doesn't even remotely makes sense economically because no businesses either domestic or foreign would want to invest in a country or state that their own employees could potentially kill them at any given moment as soon as the annual Purge begins. This is especially true for disgruntled underpaid and/or overly ambitious employees whom would easily scheme to kill their superior(s) in order to advance in the corporate rank. The entire country economy would quickly tank because no businesses would want to risk their own wellbeing getting eliminated by the same people they hire to work for them.
The only way that businesses owners and executives could ever hope to live through the Purge is those top 1% that are incredibly wealthy and privileged enough to afford something like a bunker or skyscraper with reinforced entrances and security personnel that are paid enough to not turn on them.

Another issue with the day after the Purge, what do you do with the bodies? It is illegal to desecrate, transport, or pretty much do anything to a body.... does the government have a like cleaning crew you call?
Yeah I imagine it’s just like any other catastrophe. Just a lot of government cleanup. Remember the point is largely to reduce homeless people, so the government is presumably fine with the effort/cost.
