I’d say it’s been better than HHN over the last 5 years. I used to be team HHN, but Knotts has REALLY brought it. The theming around the park alone is miles better than HHN. And the mazes? Zero black walls.
This is what I’m waiting to determine. Haven’t gone to either other than in about 12 years. HHN used to be my preference back from about 05 to 2012. Knotts was great too. Just went to HHn 2 weeks ago and to our surprise it was still very fun, not as impressive as what I can remember but it was great. Going to knotts soon to see what takes it this year in our opinion
I've always thought Knott's is better than HHN. Sure Universal has that startling jumpscare with the strobe and loud crashing sound, but it gets repetitive. Knott's mazes are like twice as long and you won't find any blank black walls that HHN fills their mazes with. Knott's coasters are better too. The park is overall more decorated and scenic. It may not be as scary, but it's cheaper and there's more mazes, and the lines don't get as bad as HHN.

I was waiting in line at Grimoire when I happened to looked back and saw you guys in the other line! It was a little surreal seeing you there and wanted to get a photo with you two but didn't want to cause a scene so I just waved. I was just a few people behind you in the maze and ever since then I have been anxiously awaiting this video to drop!
The only time I went to Knott's Scary Farm was back in 1991 while I was still in the Marine Corps. This was the first time I had ever went to something like this and it was amazing, the scare actors were awesome even back then!
Knotts is just a better Halloween experience for your buck. I remember pre covid HHN was much less crowded and they did a better job at spacing parties for the mazes. Plus, some of their mazes I'm just not interested in as they have barely anything to do with horror movies or even just horror at all. (I'm looking at you The Weeknd mazes). On top of that, Knotts maze design is overall better, going for quality over quantity which I'm completely fine with, as this lends well to the placement of the scare actors. They do reuse mazes at Knotts, but over the years they have done an excellent job at hiding the scare actors and giving them more room to be creative and scare you whereas at HHN actors are mostly confined to booths and guests are moved through the mazes airport security style, to the point where a goo 70-80% of the time you'll see the scares coming (Unless you get an Express pass!). At the end of the night going to Knotts there is a very good chance you'll see maze lines with little to no wait times and you are basically going in with just you and your party which makes it even more scary and fun. Now everytime I visit (and I won't be visiting Universal this year) HHN, me and my party can only do 3-4 mazes as the wait times have just gotten absolutely ridiculous. Knotts has come out on top for the theme park Halloween experience.

Honestly.. overall, this looks more fun and scarier than this year’s HHN. Universal may have the budget, but Knott’s has the Passion, and they do an incredible job with what budget they have. I definitely need to go to Knott’s Scary next year.

Knotts Scary Farm is ALWAYS better then HHN...in every single aspect... Unless you like that closed theme park after hours, without any decor or ambiance vibe...no real scare zones outside the very front...massive conga lining thru the mazes and the constant flashing light and noises from the overused and annoying trigger effects and all scares coming from the front, left or right...with nothing coming from above, below, from behind or the sides...with half the mazes having empty and black hallways and corners inside the mazes because they spend a lot on the outside facades for those same mazes...and plenty of throw away IPs and bad choices for mazes... There is more to a Halloween Event than just standing in lines all night and going thru mazes...Even Six Flags does the whole decor, ambiance and actual scare zones around the park and has a way better vibe then HHN has done since 2016

You should hit the Woods of Terror in NC you’d scream for your life yes, but the experience, Sets, Costumes, Scares and atmosphere is so stellar you’d be glad you went and wish you went sooner lol. I think they’ve been running for 31 years now.

I give those scare actors so much credit the street characters have to be so good at improv and unlike at HHN the maze actors are screaming and making noises all night instead of reacting to a scream track. (No shade to HHN actors they are amazing too)
I hope universal studios orlando changes there camera policy once epic universe is opened. It would help promote there new attractions that the land has to offer . But I'm not gonna hold my breath on it.
I find Knott's infinitely superior to HHN and always done. Universal spaces everything out too far from one another, they only "theme" very specific areas, and overall the mazes are, in my opinion, samey and repetitive. Meanwhile, Knott's really goes all out theming the ENTIRE park, the mazes are always extremely well done and unique, and the additional shows and other events really come together to make it a solid experience. I try to do both, but my beating, blood-filled heart belongs to Knott's.

The facade of Widows was painted by The Bride of Ghost Town, she also appears in chilling chambers (An Asylum Nurse) was one of her early positions. I am an acquaintance and fan of her both at Knott's and her Goth modeling. I saw you guys at the Opening Scaremonies, would of loved to say hello. I enjoyed my night, but I can't wait to go back.
I think Knotts has the edge for one big reason: They allow scareactors more freedom. Sure Universal has bigger budgets and better sets, but a lot of in-house scareactors just lip sync a pre-recorded phrase and it feels faker, if that makes sense. Just looking at Ghosttown alone gives me classic HHN vibes with how those scareactors were still in character but given a little more on the lead if you will.

I will say from a viewer standpoint I always prefer Knotts Scary Farm over Universal's, just the atmosphere of all the mazes and how they are original and creative makes me want to go there so bad. I also love the scare zones so much more, it looks like a blast every year.

The facade of Widows was painted by The Bride of Ghost Town, she also appears in chilling chambers (An Asylum Nurse) was one of her early positions. I am an acquaintance and fan of her both at Knott's and her Goth modeling. I saw you guys at the Opening Scaremonies, would of loved to say hello. I enjoyed my night, but I can't wait to go back.

Honestly, there are way too many people at universal horror nights…. Knotts and Queen Mary are my favorite

I think Knotts has the edge for one big reason: They allow scareactors more freedom. Sure Universal has bigger budgets and better sets, but a lot of in-house scareactors just lip sync a pre-recorded phrase and it feels faker, if that makes sense.
Just looking at Ghosttown alone gives me classic HHN vibes with how those scareactors were still in character but given a little more on the lead if you will.

I will say from a viewer standpoint I always prefer Knotts Scary Farm over Universal's, just the atmosphere of all the mazes and how they are original and creative makes me want to go there so bad. I also love the scare zones so much more, it looks like a blast every year.

Now I've never heard of Knott's Scary Farm, but it does remind me of HHN... At least from what I've seen as I've never been to that, either.
