Great video! Only complaint is that you didn't go into more detail on how to unplug the cameras and such, but I figured that part out myself. I didn't use a torch b/c I do not have one, but I do have a gas stove and cautiously used it to heat up the motherboard and then squished everything like you did. It worked!!! And my phone was a total brick before, and showed absolutely no signs of life no matter what I did.
Once it was fixed, I made sure to turn off most of the background apps because that phone can run hot if you have a lot of apps going. I moved all of my important files over to my PC. The phone is literally working as it normally did, not glitchy at all, hopefully it keeps working.
    Thanks for this video!!!

I was able to send this back to LG after letting them know about this and got the mobo replaced for free which was cool

Current Status: Back to failing this time boot looping, it would get in somehow at times enough time to delete whats inside and or backup anything needed, so this is obviously a temporary fix
If it keeps failing after cooling, reheat it again and boot it up asap so you can backup & delete your data
Phone was filled with fingerprints & the direct light didn't help, should have cleaned it before starting but I just wanted to get it working at the time, it is now perfectly cleaned =p

it was not as easy to take the motherboard out as you made it seem. i completely tore the connection at the bottom.

      Aww no :(
Sorry but you gotta watch a full detailed tear down first to make sure you know whats going on in there
Hope you did not lose anything important you needed backed up in there

its not your fault. i think i need to buy a new G4 and put my old motherboard in it at this point.

Honestly I had a good run with my G4, I love that thing but its time to move on, I'm not going to get another G4, read there are people that had went through 4 LG phones dying on them on reddit, I mean they are cheap on ebay and second hand but not worth the phone dying eventually, would rather have a phone I dont use sitting around still working than a dead phone. That said, what issue were you having, what caused you to open your phone up? Bootloop or?

It was the same issue as yours. The phone would not respond to the battery or the charger. When the phone did respond to the charger and the battery, it would freeze after a couple minutes of use and then reboot. I already pre ordered a note 8 for my next phone and will never go back to LG again. I do unfortunately still have some information on my phone that I would like to extract, but i will need another G4 to make that happen. Even then, it would be a shot in the dark because i dont know if my current motherboard will work on a different G4. I really want my information back.

I had the same issue as your phone. It was unresponsive to the charger and the battery. Before it became a brick, it would reboot after a few minutes of use. i would only get the G4 again so i can put my motherboard in it to extract my contact information and files. I dont know if my motherboard will work in a different G4, so it will be a shot in the dark. As for my next phone, it will be the note 8.
