Agree! Beautiful home, but some of the detail shots were panned way too fast. You can tell they slowed some down via editing, but they were jumpy and not smooth. Was driving me nuts :)

As a Chicago native myself I have always felt the impact when entering older buildings in the city. The marble, the millwork, the soaring ceilings, and the facades. You can almost feel the spirits of grander times. Your description of this exquisite house tour surpassed anything I could say. But I will say, this home gave me chills and made me more than a little envious.

Sadly, you don’t see classy elegance like this anymore. Young designers haven’t a clue and think that beige and blah are brilliant because they are so calming to modern hectic lives. Give me this luxurious apartment any day, it’s perfect. The kitchen is a stroke of genius as is the bathroom. If I were to find one tiny fault, it would be the powder room. (And this is merely a matter of taste, some may agree with me) All those little squares of vibrant swirling colors in such a small space would make me go cross eyed. However as we have all stated, the apartment is a magnificent jewel, a testament to her craft. Well done 👏👏👏

Hearing about the designer behind the design is one thing. Hearing from the woman behind the design and the home, while she's giving the tour has such a warm feel. This is what I would hope a Gold Coast apartment would look like! It's a sophisticated soulful, wonderfully personal passion project, and labor of love through and through. Positively stunning. ❤
I love these older Chicago buildings! Obviously, some are much better than others - but overall, there is a charm, stateliness, and sense of permanence about them. My own city is noticeably deficient in such buildings due to the nature of its growth. However, Chicago is also one of the greatest places for even modest residential architecture - and few cities could hold a candle to it, anyway. Regarding this home in particular, though, I have to comment on its beauty. So nice to see a home on TH-cam that is eclectic without being cluttered, elegant without being ostentatious, and spacious with looking like a 1990's suburban shopping mall. Clearly Jessica Lagrange was not following any trend or trying to stick to a particular style but, instead, let her own spiritual sense of beauty come out. And she seems like a very nice person, too - someone who recognizes that her home is a blessing, not a vulgar show of wealth. Really, such a nice home! I'd hate to dust it, though! LOL! 😃
It was unfortunate - so many unique, interesting pieces that I wish had been focused on longer so I could get a better view & appreciate them - but all I could get were brief glimpses.

Absolutely Fabulous. I love all of the gold and silver leafing. Everything glows and blends with the neutral tones used throughout. The animal print satee, silverware, antiques, and fabulous kitchen , are just a few things that stood out to me. Just gorgeous.
Not sure why they span the camera so fast but it makes me feel like I'm on a boat! Love your home though. So many elements that I loved. The bench in the bedroom, the screen behind the bed, the hand painted papers in that gorgous powder room, the animal motif, all of the beautiful interesting collections...so much interest. The first thought I had was ‘a millionaire house’ (for rich people not only how expensive seems everything). So elegant and I don’t know how she does to have different collections, combining classical objects, antique with modern items, from different parts of the world… It looks like it took her lot of time to collect each of the expensive objects and we can’t deny she chose the perfect career for her🎉🎉🎉🎉.

I like the story of how she began her career. It's also nice to hear someone speak simply and clearly without too much effort. In other words, sane people are very hard to find.
Pure comfort. Pure class. Bar area is just so well done. Regal. The bar collection was stunning. The furniture in the living area was just cozy. Gorgeous tones of gold throughout. Very unique with the various collection of objects.
I genuinely LOVE this. I am not a fan of carefully chosen neutral color palettes, but if that's what you prefer, THIS is the only way to do it: Layers and layers of collections and accessories, great art, high-end textured finishes, rich details, and elegant silhouettes on the furniture. I'd move in tomorrow, and dare you to try to throw me out. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

I love that we are at an age where we can be who we were meant to be. ! You had an incredible life of collecting beautiful things and mementos! Im not too far from Chicago.
