Built in the 1930’s by prominent Chicago architect Phillip Maher, the gracious circular floor plan of Jessica’s apartment was purposefully designed to allow light to pour into each space and to capitalize on the stunning views of Lake Michigan. Jessica was greatly inspired by flora and fauna while decorating the space. Her intrigue of insects and wildlife are playfully incorporated throughout each room. Through an eclectic blend of various styles and carefully curated period pieces, Jessica has masterfully crafted a home that beautifully reflects her distinctive personal style. Enjoy!

It was unfortunate - so many unique, interesting pieces that I wish had been focused on longer so I could get a better view & appreciate them - but all I could get were brief glimpses.

The home is beautiful, but I feel it is filmed differently than most Homeworthy episodes. The pans are a little too fast and sometimes also too zoomed in. I actually found it distracting.

Agree! Beautiful home, but some of the detail shots were panned way too fast. You can tell they slowed some down via editing, but they were jumpy and not smooth. Was driving me nuts :)
She was describing the countertop in the powder room and the camera did not pan in on the thing! Arg!
@@inglishhomeandgarden8386 I expect to be able to watch a video at normal speed and be able to appreciate what's being shown without having to slow the speed and listen to distorted speech or have to waste my time watching a second time just so I can appreciate what's being shown.
Wonderful apartment but whoever shot it did a horrible job, too fast and didn’t focus on her narration. Was making me sick to watch.

Wasn’t it nice not to see another white kitchen….I LOVE a black kitchen….she is so gorgeous and her home is beautiful….can I ask what she uses to polish all of her silver. I watch and love nearly every Homeworthy house tour. This home rises to a category all its own. I don’t say that just as a Chicago native, but this designer has captured the essence of the city’s beauty and strength. Her stunning home exudes the combination of understated elegance with risk taking energy that gives Chicago it’s powerful, charming sense of unexpected movement. It is classical and edgy at the same time, in an organic and personal, never trendy, way. The restoration of fabulous, historic architecture, down to the bronze door handles, resonates with anyone fortunate to have grown up with the bold strength of the city center, combined with the cosmopolitan, exquisite taste of the Gold Coast. Ms. Lagrange has created what, to me, is the perfect home, captured in a video I will treasure (especially now living in CA…nuff said.) Thank you for sharing your flawless masterpiece from a city of masterpieces ,from art, music and cuisine to Oak Street Beach! Ms. Lagrange exemplifies the very best of interior design. As a Chicago native myself I have always felt the impact when entering older buildings in the city. The marble, the millwork, the soaring ceilings, and the facades. You can almost feel the spirits of grander times.
Your description of this exquisite house tour surpassed anything I could say. But I will say, this home gave me chills and made me more than a little envious.

But for this lovely, graceful, and forgive me, beautifully dressed and put-together woman. She is truly an inspiration for any of us ladies of maturity... Class at its finest! 👏.

Hearing about the designer behind the design is one thing. Hearing from the woman behind the design and the home, while she's giving the tour has such a warm feel. This is what I would hope a Gold Coast apartment would look like! It's a sophisticated soulful, wonderfully personal passion project, and labor of love through and through. Positively stunning. ❤
Sadly, you don’t see classy elegance like this anymore. Young designers haven’t a clue and think that beige and blah are brilliant because they are so calming to modern hectic lives. Give me this luxurious apartment any day, it’s perfect. The kitchen is a stroke of genius as is the bathroom. If I were to find one tiny fault, it would be the powder room. (And this is merely a matter of taste, some may agree with me) All those little squares of vibrant swirling colors in such a small space would make me go cross eyed. However as we have all stated, the apartment is a magnificent jewel, a testament to her craft. Well done 👏👏👏

Not sure why they span the camera so fast but it makes me feel like I'm on a boat! Love your home though. So many elements that I loved. The bench in the bedroom, the screen behind the bed, the hand painted papers in that gorgous powder room, the animal motif, all of the beautiful interesting collections...so much interest. I love these older Chicago buildings! Obviously, some are much better than others - but overall, there is a charm, stateliness, and sense of permanence about them. My own city is noticeably deficient in such buildings due to the nature of its growth. However, Chicago is also one of the greatest places for even modest residential architecture - and few cities could hold a candle to it, anyway. Regarding this home in particular, though, I have to comment on its beauty. So nice to see a home on TH-cam that is eclectic without being cluttered, elegant without being ostentatious, and spacious with looking like a 1990's suburban shopping mall. Clearly Jessica Lagrange was not following any trend or trying to stick to a particular style but, instead, let her own spiritual sense of beauty come out. And she seems like a very nice person, too - someone who recognizes that her home is a blessing, not a vulgar show of wealth. Really, such a nice home! I'd hate to dust it, though! LOL! 😃

Absolutely Fabulous. I love all of the gold and silver leafing. Everything glows and blends with the neutral tones used throughout. The animal print satee, silverware, antiques, and fabulous kitchen , are just a few things that stood out to me. Just gorgeous.

I love this designer’s approach to designing a room, put out your collections and enjoy them every day. The rooms flow easily into each other but a nice surprise awaits to be found in each. Her apartment is very collected but also elegant and inviting.

Very elegant apartment and lady. High quality antiques and awesome artworks. Apart from all that silver which must take hours of polishing, I really like her choices of objects, lamps, furniture and wallpapers.

First always: thank you Alison and Homeworthy team for the videos (I don’t know how you do to upload so many videos 😅). The first thought I had was ‘a millionaire house’ (for rich people not only how expensive seems everything). So elegant and I don’t know how she does to have different collections, combining classical objects, antique with modern items, from different parts of the world… It looks like it took her lot of time to collect each of the expensive objects and we can’t deny she chose the perfect career for her🎉🎉🎉🎉.

Gorgeous home which actually matched the owner's personality so perfectly. Whoever was doing the camera work on this episode was panning much too quickly as she was describing special items or areas- it almost made me dizzy. I could not stop and focus as the camera was whizzing up, down, sideways, etc. Never saw this in another Homeworthy episode- it was odd.

I like the story of how she began her career. It's also nice to hear someone speak simply and clearly without too much effort. In other words, sane people are very hard to find.
I genuinely LOVE this. I am not a fan of carefully chosen neutral color palettes, but if that's what you prefer, THIS is the only way to do it: Layers and layers of collections and accessories, great art, high-end textured finishes, rich details, and elegant silhouettes on the furniture. I'd move in tomorrow, and dare you to try to throw me out. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
