I Never Heard Father Laugh So Much Before ( Billy Williams 1913 ) HMV 101L Gramophone.

The Music Hall performer Billy Williams (The Man In The Velvet Suit) was one of the first artistes to sell thousands of cylinders & discs in the early days of sound recording. Here he is singing “I Never Heard Father Laugh So Much Before”, recorded on the Phoenix record label in 1913 & playing here one of my HMV 101 portable gramophones.

I have this on 'Cinch' Final 2 verses on yours differ & are so funny! Billy Williams recorded his new songs on several labels, which would earn him more fees & prevent 'covers' Makes his discs easier to find & gives more variety, tho' probably helped work him to death! Thanks for sharing this version which is new to me.
