    I feel like Rive is the Macromedia Flash of 2020's. We'll see how the UI / UX experiences have matured their sensibilities over the years, from the early days of "make everything clickable!"

    Whoa! That's me! Thanks for the shoutout!
    I hadn't even considered using HDRs for lighting with the new 3D objects in Ae. I've just been using them along with CC Environment to create background plates that react to Ae camera movements while compositing.

    i'm looking forward to the blender course, but im curious if anyone knows, how popular is blender in the motion design industry? i still feel like a lot of studios still prefer C4D

    • @joeykorenman
      @joeykorenman หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think most big studios still use Cinema 4D primarily, but it's inevitable that Blender will continue to grow in popularity. I see the future as being far more tool-agnostic as there are so many amazing apps now. I talked about this in the conversation with Aharon on this channel if you wanna hear what he thinks, coming from Maxon before he was with us.

      When they implement some nice working Mograph tools it might be a game changer for the motion industry

    • @joeykorenman
      @joeykorenman หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andreasmarkstrom1940 There are some plugins we've covered that mimic C4D's tools, but I haven't used Blender much so can't really speak to how well they work in production. We've got a SICK artist working on our first Blender course.

      @@joeykorenman Sounds cool! I am not too familiar with Blender too but I gotta say Unreal Engine looks to me more interesting with the new Mograph tool. Need a new computer for it though

    Is your Blender tutorial going to be how to model a bagel? Because I think there might be some potential there.

    • @joeykorenman
      @joeykorenman หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great idea... but what are we talking here? Pumpernickel? Cinnamon Raisin? BLUEBERRY BAGELS???

    • @BobDunlock
      @BobDunlock หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@joeykorenman Well, that is the magic of digital art. If you've got the time you can make as many types as you like!
      Maybe if you take the bagel route you could have all of the participants submit their bagel designs and you can combine them into a huge collage and sell it as an NFT.

      @@fiercecurry The first volume is pretty packed, it focuses on UI animation for apps / websites, and goes through the entire process from design to animation to state machine to implementation, with a bunch of intermediate Rive techniques brought in. It's the first salvo in what will be the most complete Rive curriculum on the planet. Suuuuuuper practical, and built with input from the Rive team.

      @@joeykorenman Yay! Its been really hard to follow the official Rive tutorials on Game UI, because they breeze through and make mistakes along the way and its coming from people who aren't really teachers. Yet when you see all the cool stuff the Rive team is making (promoting) they never have tutorials for those.

    Blender sounds promising in the context of paid C4D. Try learning 3D and earning enough for subscriptions at the same time - it's almost impossible. The entire Adobe package is also a challenge in the initial 'learning' phase, isn't it? And not all of us are students ;)

      Yo! The way I write these scripts is by rambling for an hour or so about each topic, feeding that into AI to cut down into a script, and then doing an editing pass to make sure it's accurate and sounds (mostly) like me. These MM videos are some of the only ones I ever script out (I never script out tutorials) so it does sound like a different voice, but it's a necessary evil to be able to get these recorded and edited each Friday. I'm always trying make these more fun to watch, so I appreciate any feedback.
