Awesome Rock music, Energy and FUN = BAND-MAID. Not to be missed: FROM NOW ON and ONSET-LIVE plus 120 other songs in their 10 year catalog. Peace. 6.56
Band-Maid is like meeting a life-long friend you have not seen in 20 years. There have been changes, but the familiarity and bond is as strong as ever.
You’re absolutely right, as I was editing the video it dawned on me that I was thinking of Lovebites, I was actually astonished that there have been no member chances in BAND-MAID
Band-Maid is AMAZING!!!!! A great live video to check out is Domination Official Live Video, but a MV that really displays how technical they are is From Now On, from their latest EP. Simply fantastic!
The cool thing about finding Band-Maid in 2024 is that, in addition to a new album coming out this year, you have 10 years worth of music already waiting for you to hear for the first time. I hope that you'll also discover that behind this wonderful body of music are five unique and charming individuals.
I would recommend "Domination" (Live) its their anthem, in the 10 yrs they've been together their mantra has not changed, World Domination through their music, Domination has been played in every show during every tour since 2018
So Miku the short one with the red rose founded the band but did'nt think her voice was suitable for the hard rock music she envisioned She fired herself as the lead singer and went out and got Saiki. At that time she never played guitar so Konami the lead guitarist took her under her wing and started teaching Miku how to play rhythem guitar. She's now quite good and frees up Misa and Konami to do run amok...lol
You have so much to discover. They did a Christmas acoustic concert. They did an April Fools joke that grew into an album. They have songs in movies and anime. The did a song for the Genshin Impact concert. They are magical.
Band Maid! ❤ These five little ladies from Japan are special. Their music is complex enough for music theory classes, but their songs are still fun and catchy enough for casual audiences. For a clear example of a song like that: “Play,” official live video. You will wish you were in the audience. For a tight, straightforward example of their balanced hard rock, Maid magic applied: “DICE,” official music video. For reference, the first two songs you’ve heard aren’t even in my top 20. Not because they aren’t great songs, but because Band Maid has tons of unbelievably great songs. A little pigeon said you may be doing “Freedom” live next. That’s in my top 20. Arena rock with the fun meter maxed out!
It's good you're getting into the Maidiac family. These 5 amazing and talented women are my favorite artists. I got to see them a couple years ago and it was awesome. While Miku, red rose, didn't know how to play, she has learned a lot from Mincho (Kanami), lead guitarist. Akane is one of the best drummers around, at least I think so. MISA is always given a time to show her skills on the bass. Saki has one of the strongest voices in music. She has polyps on her vocal cords removed and I think she has gotten better. They are a family and you can tell how much they enjoy being with each other playing live.
Hi from France: Band Maid is entering its eleventh year of existence and has never changed its line up. It's Lovebites who have just changed bassist in 2023...
@@jordanamandareact The official live MV of "Freedom" has the drummer, Akane Hirose, with an extended solo. Actually, paying close attention to her drumming in any of their songs reveals her incredible skills and the mastery of her kit. All the musicians in Band-Maid are elite tier and have a great deal of enjoyment performing live together as can be seen in this highly recommended MV.
You are on the verge of a trip down the "pigeon" hole, you will remember forever.....they are best friends, brought together by kismet, to save rock n roll.....BEHOLD THE POWER of 5 tiny Japanese geniuses....and the gifts they "serve" us.....might I suggest "Blooming" or "Choose me" both official M/V's.....welcome.....and please....enjoy.....thanks for the content
10 years and 120+ songs of pure greatness 🔥🤘❤️ Best liveband ever. Kanami, lead guitarist, taught Miku, rhytm guitarist, how to play guitar. Magical band 🔥🤘❤️
Not a new bass player, but MISA did get a few new custom basses. And she normally during a concert ,may change her bass once or twice. For this concert, she changed her bass 7 times that I could see. Normally she would do a quick re-tune, but the way they had the setlist for Yokohama, it was quicker for her to switch basses. And their absolute latest, hasn't ben fully released yet, but their song Shambles, is the next most recent, and is from the Netflix Anime Kengan Ashura's second season closing song, and it has a KILLER MV.
Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leech. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Their new “AniMaid” (anime) Covid-fighting "Unleash!!!!!" MV and new battle gear is exciting, meaningful and classy! As Maidiacs report: Maid Music will continue to dominate the world until everyone succumbs in ecstasy to its brilliant and undeniable forces!!!!! 💥🎀💥 Thx, Jordan & Amanda!
Yes BAND MAID went from MIKU saying "please remember the name" at a venue that was more of a coffee shop all the way to 10 years later at Yokohama Arena with 17,000 fans at this show. Wonderful to see these ladies being so successful - they truly deserve it for all the hard work they put into this band. How many bands in the world make it vs how many bands in the world don't. Reminds me of the Kinks - "Some that you recognize, some that you've hardly even heard of People who worked and suffered and struggled for fame Some who succeeded and some who suffered in vain" So glad BAND MAID ladies have come through shining so bright and happy.
More than 100 songs to enjoy. Welcome to the Band Maid journey :) This video is part of their 10th anniversary show where they have performed 33 songs and last almost 4hours. Regarding on the drummer, Jimmy Page saw her playing and told her she was the reincarnation of John Bonham.
Rewind the video to the beginning and listen to how it started. There are only 3 members performing at that moment. The singer, the drummer and yes, the pigeon, who didn't know how to play any instruments, playing her signature model guitar from "Zemaitis".
Welcome to the Pigeon Hole. In my opinion Band Maid is currently the best rock band on the planet. These beautiful ladies have been rocking for about 10 years. Formed in 2013 by Miku (rhythm guitar) who used to work in a Maid café’, the Maids first gained international notice in April 2015 when the Facebook page of internet radio station Jrock Radio promoted the music video for "Thrill" and it went viral. Be warned they will come for your soul with plenty of Solo work from Misa (bass), Kanami (lead), fills and solos from Akane (Drums) and they are all killer. Some of my favourite tracks are Play, Domination, Don’t You Tell Me, Dice, Freedom, (Onset, From now on, Without Holding Back, all instrumentals) Thrill, Unleash!!!!!, Hate? and Bestie. Any Maids track always ROCKS and they knock it out of the park every time. They have an extensive back catalogue (130+ tracks) and they are all so different with a mix of genres The 5 Band-Maid members are: SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals and melodies. MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku), "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals and lyricist. She is the Band founder. She was originally going to sing vocals but decided her voice wasn’t rock enough so she recruited Saiki and learnt guitar instead, she couldn’t play when she formed the band and played very little on Thrill. (their first MV) She was mainly tutored by Kanami. She has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness? A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band. KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar and keyboards. Kanami plays a PRS; the birds on the fret board are a tribute to Paul Reed Smith's mum who was an avid birdwatcher. AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, keyboard and trombone LOL. In 2016 Jimmy Page saw the band and asked for photo op with her. He apparently said “she was a reincarnated John Bonham”, hi praise indeed. MISA (Me-Sa), "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass. Misa usually plays a Black Cloud 5 string bass aka “The Black Smoker”. She is an exceptional bass player and possibly the best around. Their Battle Gear as they call it with slight variations are French maid outfits for Akane, Miku and Kanami, Misa and Saiki weren’t keen on the outfits but compromises were made. MISA ditched the French maid outfit early on and started to wear a Chinese inspired maid outfit - in black of course. It's partly how MISA got her nickname 'The Barefoot Assassin', she always plays barefoot, and Miku joked her outfit was an “Assassin maid”. Saiki's outfit is more Spanish inspired and more fitting for the Queen of Maids. Rock is NOT dead it just got a passport, moved to Japan and got new outfits. The great thing with they ladies is they always look so happy with great interactions between band members and with their fans (that they call “Masters” and “Princesses” with concerts called “Servings”).Fans are known as Maidiacs.
Check out "Hibana" LIVE. There's two LIVE versions. One from Instrumental Maid channel and one from Vladimir Chupin channel. There's also the studio version on the Band-Maid channel. It's a fun song and on Vladimer's recording the crowd just erupts when Miku (the one that couldn't play guitar) busts out in a long vocal hold, coolest thing. Maybe you could do the studio version first then one from a LIVE version on a reaction.
Live Maid is the Best Maid..... any group can fake it in the studio but the Maids elevate the music onstage.... Puzzle, No God, Warning, Freedom .. take your pick and enjoy awesomeness in action....
1:15 I read an interview where they said they didn't know about the label dropping them if the video failed to gain popularity until after the video was shot. They said they had a band member meeting afterwards and decided to keep the band going if the management/label dropped them.
Jimmy Page went to one of their concert. He called the drummer one of the best he has ever seen. Miss the bass player is considered a top ten base player in all of japan. They are all uber talented and recognize by their peers.
all.of them is all the same since they create the band no change line up , the reason is they are a tight band no egos, miku the band creator rythm guitar player has a red rose and saiki got tbe blue rose great reaction guys
They have over 130 more for you, but I'm gonna throw out Puzzle Official Live from their channel. Plus everything that everyone else is suggesting. The more you see of them, the more you'll be impressed - their music can be very complex, and much goes unnoticed on first (or 87th) listen. Stylistically you won't know "who they are" until 20 songs or so, because they are all over the map and defy genres completely. One common theme though is that most of their music leaves you much happier than when you started!
Regarding your comment about the label saying "if this doesn't take, you're done" for their first MV, the label actually had selected a different song off the album for the video and at the last minute Miku and the band decided to go with Thrill instead against the label's directive -- and history was made.
Your information about the group is already a little outdated, Miku Kobato couldn’t play the guitar 8 years ago, but now she really can, you can watch their song Domination, live performance. And no one changed the bass player here, Misa is the best bass in Japan
Saiki sounds like she's straining a bit but that concert was three and a half hours long and they performed 33 songs. Have you seen the band NEMOPHILA yet?
I believe that "stress" was a stylistic choice for the song. This was about the 4th song into the concert. This whole concert was about as good as Saiki has ever sounded.
@DAVID-io9nj yes ofcourse and its not like I'm a music expert or anything I'm really just basing my opinion on what I tend to listen to the most. And I have listened to About Us from (is it the day of the maid?) Many times as well as other songs from the same concert. No audience is a little sad but the sound is great.
band maid has such a comfortable "feel" that you just feel like you have heard them before
