The Commando is one of my favorite light 'mechs. If you've got a fairly light lance, the COM-2D should always be on it. Pair it with anything from a Wolfhound to a Panther to a Vindicator. Use the big guns to open up armor, then run in hard with the Commando and start dumping missiles into those critical slots. Works like a charm.
The ability for most Commando variants to just pepper a target should not be underestimated. Last time I fielded a 2D at an intro game, I managed to get two head shots and two TACs, in a single attack, with one of its SRMs with one of the luckiest series of rolls I've ever had!
I enjoy the format of your videos. Working through the variants chronologically makes me feel like I understand the entire history and design direction of the mech.
Very cool series, subbed for more. You should take care to add the newest video to the end of the playlist instead of the top, makes them flow better for people watching later.
These little 'mechs are great in 3025, but by 3050 the proliferation of pulse lasers, LB/X autocannon, and targeting computers makes it likely they will be disabled easily by their larger brethren. Just one more reason 3025 is the best era for BT. Light mechs remain relevant.
3050 is kind of a bad time for light mechs, especially inner sphere ones. However, with the late 3060's variants and especially the more recent ilClan variants they do regain _a lot_ of usefulness, primarily through speed upgrades.
Just picked up the ‘armoured combat’ box so having an entertaining and informative bite size series on my eight first mechs is fantastic! Thank you!

I am glad you like it! The next video, where I cover the Shadow Hawk, goes even more in-depth than the previous two.
@@12crit Can't wait! The Shadow Hawk is one of my favorites. 😊

That's a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to implement that, as soon as I can.
This is a great format and well edited.
Keep it up.
Thank you! Much appreciated!
the 10srm commando is one of my favourite mechs. A single full backvolley can make it worth its bv.
I like this light mech. A good low BV initiative sink
