I’ve watched a lot of reactions to this movie and most people get extremely frustrated or even angry at Jenny. It was really refreshing to see how sympathetic and compassionate you two were towards her ❤️❤️
I'm gonna stir the pot here, Jenny was a cold blooded monster. In the directors cut she often fed on homeless puppies and financially preyed on the elderly. Robert Zemeckis however thought this portrayal cast her in an unsympathetic light and scraped 44 extra minutes of a ghoulish Jenny and instead had her merely give Forrest an incurable STD.
at one point i didn't understand how others didn't come to this exact conclusionl but i have come to realize it's just how one interprets events and how it makes them feeel. some struggle with traumas while others are fortunate to perservere what they have had to endure.
Sure, but they did write her really unsympathetic, so it isn't that surprising. Yes, she went through a lot, and that explains much of it, but even at the end her actions just seems selfish and unfair. She didn't contact Forrest or even let him know he was a father until she knew she was sick and had him take care of them. Would she ever have told him if she had been healthy?
I always felt that Jenny came back because she knew she had to get clean and Forrest was the one person she knew wouldn't take advantage of her while she was working on getting herself sober.
At 41:59 that is amazing insight. I’ve never heard anyone say that before. “He’s looking after everybody, but who’s looking after him?” Beautiful sentiment.

From Elvis to AIDS (or Hep C in the book) Forrest Gump is the story of a generation; the historical touchstones, the music, the traumas, and the philosophical questions we wrestled with. The film is filled to brimming with historical moments and is used in some American History classes to teach the era it covers. It is always fun for me to see which ones people recognize and which ones are on their way to being forgotten. How we respond to our traumas is often dependent upon our upbringing. Jenny's life was defined by her childhood trauma, she never thought she was worthy of real love, which is why she kept pushing Forrest away. It took her decades to finally be able to face her past and stop trying to fly away her problems. Lieutenant Dan responded to his trauma with anger and it wasn't until his prolonged exposure to Forrest that he was able to 'make his peace with God.' Forrest Gump is such a beautiful film, I'm so glad you both enjoyed it.

The scene where the President puts him in a hotel, the President was Richard Nixon, Forrest reporting the flashlights was the start of The Watergate scandal where some of Nixon’s minions broke into the Democratic Party headquarters (the flashlights). Nixon ended up resigning, the first American President to do so.
As you can tell this movie has a lot of American history events. You guys did great understanding most of them. The people with flashlights who Forrest saw in this movie, was the cause of the Watergate Scandal and why the President resigned. 😅
@@jannathompson2262 You're right. It was clear that he was going to be impeached and also clear that he would then be convicted in the Senate and removed from office. The expected votes would have been overwhelming in both the House of Reps and the Senate.

@ As the saying goes, it was the coverup. The break-in was a minor thing and could have been shrugged aside, but they went way overboard to cover it all up. The college football coach was the legendary Bear Bryant, one of the winningest of all time. They weaved Gump right into that successful time for the coach.
When I was sick as a kid my mom always went to the video store and got a bunch of movies for me to watch - "Forrest Gump" was one of them. I was 11. I`m 41 years old, have seen it aboout 50 times (likely more often than that) and still have to fight back tears... One of the best films ever made and especially one of the best movies of the 90s.
Oh, wow...let's throw everything aside. I have a reaction to watch. Nice! (Post movie) Not a dry eye in the house. But, my favorite moment was Steph's evil snicker when young Forrest grunted to the school principal. 😂

Hello and yes, great films do that break your heart and bring you happiness great reaction... I too realized Jenny's predicaments with her life, but remained hopeful for her. And we all, or a few of us did, have grace for her and that somehow she would find her way into Forests Life. Hugs and keep up the good reactions!
This movie takes you all over the place emotionally. It's showing the human experience. Our experiences are not the same that's for sure. But we all have the ability to feel the same range of emotions. Forest sure did lead a life. I feel that Jenny'a always did love Forest. She just never felt good enough to be loved by anyone especially Forest. She finally realized that she was good enough and had been their whole lives.
This movie is SO gold. I know the US history for people outside the US is hard to catch on, especially watergate and when the school started desegregating. But my goodness this movie is beautiful. Btw this movie changed Lt Dan (Gary Sinise) forever, he started the Gary Sinise Foundation to help US veterans and their families, he's a true American hero.
Amazing reaction all around. You guys really captured the very essence of this movie and to that end, you were able to fully enjoy it. My biggest highlight is that you fully understand Jenny's character and even pointed out that she was trying to keep Forrest away because she was messed up and didn't want to drag him down. Most other people see her as a villain and throw a huge amount of hate at her character without realizing the beautiful tragedy that it is. It's so frustrating that such a deeply written character gets so easily misunderstood. The fact you guys went through all the motions with her was such a huge relief and satisfaction to watch. I'm now a fan! Subscribed! P.S - If you guys haven't watched it yet, can you do a reaction for the Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr? Those are my favorite movies of all time. Just a personal request if you're looking for ideas.
Loved your reaction to one of my top 5 all time favorite movies! Tom Hanks won an Oscar for this role. He won two years in a row. This was his second.❤
One can never be disappointed by almost any Tom Hanks movie. He's had a great career and he's still going strong. He rarely makes a bad movie. I'd definitely recommend "Castaway", as well as "Apollo 13".... "Toy Story 1, 2, and 3"... and "A League of Their Own". Those are can't miss movies of his in my opinion.

I live in TN. I knew an old man not long ago, and I'm now 62, that used to wear a hat like Bear's. I mentioned to him one day...I see you have your Bear Bryant hat on. Guess what? Bear Bryant was his godfather. It was Bear's hat. Or one of them.

Who would have thought, back in the 80's, that Tom Hanks, a guy who was known for comedic roles, very few of which were successful, would go on to do so many huge Oscar winning classics? Despite that, one of my favorites of his was at the tail end of the 80s, called The 'Burbs, starring him and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) as his wife.
One of the best reactions to Forrest Gump I've seen and believe me, I've seen most if not all of them. It is a favourite film of mine and you guys showed such understanding and compassion toward the characters within this film. I also love your other reactions.

I wanted to hate Forrest Gump since it was so popular. But after watching I couldn't help being drawn in. Great reaction. You both deserve way more followers 🙏♥️
Thank you for the reaction, and thank you for wearing your heart on your sleeve, man. Rare to see men shed tears like that publicly, wish it was more socially acceptible everywhere, for all of us. My first time watching this was in school, 9th grade. Amazing watching this on one of those fat-TV's on a rolling stand in class, and everyone being mesmerized by the story. It has such high peaks, and low depths in the flow, really a masterpiece.
I loved watching your reactions to this lovely movie. To me you almost epitomize a man and woman. Liam's reactions were strong and thoughtful, yet, the tenderness and tears are so masculine. There is such a paradox that the most masculine men are those who can cry comfortably in front of others, who are afraid to be vulnerable. Think of the strength it takes for a "man" to be so vulnerable in front of others, especially I think other men! You should showed no fear crying at so many beautiful touching moments. And, Steph is so feminine. From practically the very first moment of the film all the way through there was nothing but heartfelt caring, so tender, thoughtful and nurturing wanting the best for Forrest. The tone of your voice was so gentle, so kind and loving just as the epitome of a "woman" is. Both or your voices/tones were spot on with thoughtfulness feeling all the poignant moments. It was a very rich experience for me watching the both of you. Thank you.
@ladyandthemanc please consider watching the movies. Hacksaw ridge with Andrew Garfield, full metal jacket with Matthew modine , platoon with Charlie Sheen or casualties of war with Michael j Fox
I have watched a couple of your reactions, but this one was extewmly heartfelt. Keep doing reactions, and I'll keep coming back. Also, the flashlights in the office when he calledthst they were keeping him up had to do with Watergate and the Nixon reaignation.
I have seen this movie like 10 times. I was still a blubbering mess watching you guys watch it. It's a wild movie. The happy moments shoot you into outer space. And the sad moments shove you into the ground and hammer you in. I always forget how gut-wrenching this movie is, alongside how uplifting it is. One of the biggest rollercoasters of all time. I know we "hate" Jenny for what she did. But she had to be that way to give us a powerful movie, and ultimately, a powerful ending. You could never predict that ending. Even after we knew they had sex at least twice, it still catches you off that it's Forrest's son.
It's amazing how this movie still stands up today, like what, 30 some years later. I remember going to the theatre to see this and it was so good, never seen anything like it. People stayed in their seats until the credits stopped rolling. IMO, one of the best movies ever made.
well done! a spectacular reaction. as others said, you really saw the sad situation jenny was in. a moment that i think is sometimes overlooked is when Forrest asks jenny "is he smart, or..." - somehow tom hanks clearly made us understand he was worried about "...or is he like me?" brilliant casting and acting, one of the best.
Great reaction guys! As you come back to watch it again (I know you will, we all did), you will find that Forest's disability was just that he was a very simple thinking person. He only thought about one thing at a time and he only focused on one thing at a time. He never really got caught up in daily life entanglements that we all allow ourselves to worry about. That's what made him so good at so many things. He never thinks about things outside his comprehension. You two did a great job of getting hooked up into his life and you will notice more as you re watch it again and again. Thanks.
The relationship between Forrest and Lt. Dan was one of my favorites in this movie. While using other words, Lt. Dan never once called Forrest "stupid" because he could tell Forrest didn't like that specific word. After Lt. Dan lost his legs, Forrest still saw him as "Lt. Dan" regardless and never referred to him as anything else. That one is a common sentiment for commanders fondly remembered by their men in the military. Their rank often sticks with them for the rest of their lives even after they are no longer deemed fit for service. Growing up, my dad would take us to eat dinner with his former superiors and would often refer to them with their rank and name, such as "Colonel [name]" and instructed us to refer to them as the same. While he would occasionally switch to first-name basis since they were also friends, he predominantly would use "Colonel [name]" for introductions and when talking about them to other people. While Forrest referred to Lt. Dan as "Lt", that's something that probably stuck with the character for a long time since in Forrest's eyes, he was still the same man even after losing his legs. And you could see that as well when Forrest had no problem when Lt. Dan said he would not call him, "Sir" when they reunited at the boat. That's something that my dad pointed out in the movie when we watched it over the years.
These were the days of the Polio Epidemic across the world. Children were particularly susceptible as their bones were forming in those early years. It was a terrible, terrible disease, which was particularly frightening because it caused crippling infirmity and parents were terrified in not knowing what caused or spread the disease. For all practical purposes--though occasional cases arise--it has been eradicated with the advent of the Salk Vaccine. Once the vaccine was administered by injection and in later years by a drop on a sugar cube. I was born in 1948, my brother in 1950. In 1952 we and our mother had joined my father in Japan with the US Army. A couple of weeks after arriving in Tokyo we boys developed a cold; Mom took us to the Army hospital. It was not a cold. It was polio. She was horrified for her little boys. (Apparently we had caught the virus in the Travis Air Force Base swimming pool while awaiting our flight overseas).Turns out my only symptom was a fever. My brother, however, developed shortened Achilles tendons in his legs and had to wear braces precisely like those worn by Forrest Gump. Forrest walks just like my brother walked. Richard never could play sports, and the damage to his legs stayed with him all his life until he died in 2010 at age 59. It was finally found out that public swimming pools were spreading the virus, which is where kids were on hot summer days. It saddens me to watch this part of the film, bringing back the memories of polio. Polio was our generation's Covid.
My great uncle caught polio right before the vaccine became available. He was in an iron lung for years, and eventually died of pneumonia caused by his weak lungs. Awful, awful disease.
I think Jenny always loved Forrest but she never thought she would be good enough for him, maybe that she didn´t even deserve happiness. I love this movie. Thank you for your empathetic reaction.

Seen this movie no less than 30 times and still makes me tear up and laugh out loud. Favorite movie by far. Big hug from Texas!
It’s a really wonderful movie! I’m so glad we have now seen it! ❤️ thank you! 🥰
Beautiful reaction ❤
Thank you!! 😊
The hotel scene with the flashlights was a reference to the Watergate scandal that ended with President Nixon having to resign.
Nice to see another man who actually has a heart. I have seen this but you two made me cry more lol.
Great reaction, a very emotional film. Love the sound track from this movie, so many great hits from each decade Forest was in.
This is one of the most wholesome reactions I’ve ever seen❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for watching with us! ❤️☺️
The ending hits any father harder than anything, just an amazing movie
Loved the reaction, subscribed for more!
This movie really is a masterpiece. :) We had the soundtrack and it was a massive multidisc set, but absolutely excellent.
❤❤❤❤ great reaction to a great movie. Thank you for sharing.❤❤❤❤
Fantastic reaction to one of my favorite movies. You guys are quickly becoming my favorite movie reactors. Keep it coming.
Beautiful reaction video by two wonderful reactors....first time I have come across this channel, still grieving for my "momma"
Thank you.
Sorry for your loss :(
@Smokie_666 thank you...me too 😔
I always love you guys' reactions. You both always make me emotional even though I've seen the films lots of times already. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful reaction from you both.
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching with us! ☺️
Forrest excelled at simple tasks and did well when he was told what to do and how to do it. He didn’t overthink things. He was a simple man
Stumbled across you folks what a beautiful feeling lovely couple you are thank you so much for sharing your time
One can never be disappointed by almost any Tom Hanks movie. He's had a great career and he's still going strong. He rarely makes a bad movie. I'd definitely recommend "Castaway", as well as "Apollo 13".... "Toy Story 1, 2, and 3"... and "A League of Their Own". Those are can't miss movies of his in my opinion.
This is one of the best films ever made - literally a masterpiece of film. so funny, so sad and so enlightening and always makes me cry, laugh and love...
9:08 to 9:10 The man wearing the black and white hound's tooth hat was Bear Bryant, the LEGENDARY coach of the Univirsity of Alabama (Tuscaloosa), which, still, has a legendary college football team (the "Crimson Tide")... Bear Bryant's black and white hound's tooth hat was iconic...
"ROLL TIDE!!!" 🎩🏉🎩🏉🎩🏉🎩🏉🎩
I live in TN. I knew an old man not long ago, and I'm now 62, that used to wear a hat like Bear's. I mentioned to him one day...I see you have your Bear Bryant hat on. Guess what? Bear Bryant was his godfather. It was Bear's hat. Or one of them.
Shawshank Redemption is another classic to watch.
It’s on the list! ☺️
@ladyandthemanc And then 'The Green Mile'.
28:55 to 29:04 "...I'm walking here!": the line is iconic, and, originally from "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), starring Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight.

I love the way he was the inspiration of John Lennon's "Imagine."
I also love your other reactions.
watching them not understand watergate made me giggle. IN A HAPPY WAY. i dont half of other countries history. Good video! yall seem like pretty wholesome people
My first time seeing these reactors. I love them!!! ❤❤❤
Beautiful and respectful reaction to a Classic.
Gary Sinise was fantastic in this 💪🏻 Great reaction as always you guys 🥳
Thank you so much for watching with us! ☺️
This is the best movie of all time, it has everythinng.
24:49 through 25:25 The man wearing the American flag outfit (an illegal act, at that time) is Abbie Hoffman, a legendary anti-Vietnam War Activist.
🇺🇸 ☮️ 🇺🇸 ☮️ 🇺🇸 ☮️ 🇺🇸 ☮️ 🇺🇸
It’s still illegal in DC which is where they were but it’s always been a simple misdemeanor so no one really cares one way or another.
Didn't like how his movement made Veterans feel or how others treated Veterans, but I did love how he demanded to read all the names of those who had died up until that point in his trial.
45:17 you have to remember forest was running for over 3 year, plus he didn't say how long after the letter forest went to see Jenny.
I wanted to hate Forrest Gump since it was so popular. But after watching I couldn't help being drawn in. Great reaction. You both deserve way more followers 🙏♥️
this was such an amazing reaction!
Needed a good cry thank you guys ❤
Our pleasure! Thank you so much for watching! ☺️
I'm loving your channel its so soothing and relaxing after a hard day with work or training keep up the brilliant work 🙂🙂
You two are the absolute sweetest. I’ve seen this movie so many times and watched so many reactions to it. Glad I stopped to watch yours. 😊
Yall have such sweet souls. love it.
Great reaction by both of you. They just don't make movies like this anymore....
I've watched many reactions to this film, and this is one of the best. I loved your sensitivity and appreciation.
Thank you.
The guy in the flag shirt was Abbie Hoffman. He heard what Gump said and it is portrayed as being at a time where Hoffman's activism changed.
Absolute classic film, and so heart wrenching ❤
It really is such a wonderful film! So many emotions! ❤️
I've been watching your movie reactions for a while now. I must say that this movie reaction was probably your all's best
Thank you so much! ☺️
@ladyandthemanc please consider watching the movies. Hacksaw ridge with Andrew Garfield, full metal jacket with Matthew modine , platoon with Charlie Sheen or casualties of war with Michael j Fox
Hacksaw ridge is already on the channel! ☺️❤️
@ladyandthemanc Great!!!! I'll check it out. I must have overlooked it...
I have watched a couple of your reactions, but this one was extewmly heartfelt. Keep doing reactions, and I'll keep coming back. Also, the flashlights in the office when he calledthst they were keeping him up had to do with Watergate and the Nixon reaignation.
The only thing better than this remarkable story is the phenomenal soundtrack and score for it. So many amazing songs! Great reaction you two!
Guys, great reaction, beautiful accents, honest emotions, i'm glad I found your channel !
Even after we knew they had sex at least twice, it still catches you off that it's Forrest's son.
thanks for sharing that! that was amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching! ☺️
Great Reaction 😊 Tom Hanks does great in “The Shawshank Redemption.
👏👏😊 Hanks at the top of his game. 🥰
He was amazing in this! 🥰
It's amazing how this movie still stands up today, like what, 30 some years later. I remember going to the theatre to see this and it was so good, never seen anything like it. People stayed in their seats until the credits stopped rolling. IMO, one of the best movies ever made.
well done! a spectacular reaction. as others said, you really saw the sad situation jenny was in.
a moment that i think is sometimes overlooked is when Forrest asks jenny "is he smart, or..." - somehow tom hanks clearly made us understand he was worried about "...or is he like me?"
brilliant casting and acting, one of the best.
really enjoyed this reaction. thank you for sharing it with us :)
We are so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️ thank you for watching with us! ☺️
And now we have politicians saying we shouldn't take the polio vaccine. What a sad world we live in now.
My adoptive mother had Polio as a child and head lifelong repercussions with her ability to walk.
I think Jenny always loved Forrest but she never thought she would be good enough for him, maybe that she didn´t even deserve happiness. I love this movie. Thank you for your empathetic reaction.
