    Great lesson. I like the fact it is it a short tune, easily learned and digestible. Can't wait to try the follow on lesson with embellishments!

    I just purchased a Lebanese Oud and I'm starting out with your lessons, which have been great! I picked up this tune in a couple of hours. Thanks very much for the videos. Any tips for that type of Oud?

      Lebanese Ouds are generally the same as other Arabic types, so no specific tips for a Lebanese Oud.

      Don't worry, play slow, keeping playing slow and one day you will play it faster. Even all the pros start slow.

    Hey man, I want to get in to playing the Oud. But I dont know what oud to get.. I dont want to spend to much on a new oud so I started looking on second hands sites. There are alot of Turkish ouds. Should I get one of those turkish ouds or do I have to get an arabic oud to play tunes like this? Because of the difrrence in size? Or can I tune it to arabic tuning and sound the same? Thank you

      I'm not that much of an expert, But what i know is that for a beginner its better to start off with a Good oud and a low priced one for a starter.
      As ouds can vary in prices significantly i would recommend an egyptian oud and don't go over 200 us dollars for your first oud.
      As for the sound of the oud there's no difference in sound between Syrian, Turkish, Egyptian ouds in sound, Its just a difference in the mosaic and style of making.
      Its all about the quality of the oud and the tuning when it comes to the sound.

      Depending on the kind of Turkish oud you get, you can get it to sound just fine with Arabic tuning. Mine (from SalaMuzik) is wound really tightly, so I actually can't get it to hold the traditional Turkish tuning, funnily enough.

    Very nice....can we know about your oud? It's Arabic I suppose... But where did you get it?

      It's Arabic... made by Dimitris Rapakousious in Athens Greece. He's an amazing builder.

    What's the Tuning you used for this song?

    • @GangstTheEr
      @GangstTheEr 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kenan Kabbani standard arabic tuning, C F A d g c, however a lot of ouds off the internet only have the first five strings but you can still play this song or you can probably buy the high c string somewhere, all the best.

      Thanks! I have an oud with 6 pairs of strings and every tuning I found on the internet didn't seem quite right as some strings seemed either too loose or too tight. Thank you for the help.
