NHL 97 using the same great engine as NHL 96 was a solid effort for such a late Genesis release. Key additions are signature moves. 41 players were given unique special skills.
In this video, you will see me execute Wayne Gretzky's signature deke a few times. Brett Hull also has a signature move, but most people will find it hard to spot as it's just a "wrong footed slapshot."
Also new is the Skills Challenge. I know that as a kid, this was extremely exciting because I loved the all-star game skills challenge growing up, which these take inspiration from.
