  • This is the fifth video in this step by step tutorial series. In this episode, you'll record your animation from MAYA to UNREAL ENGINE 5.0.2 and then export it as a final movie.

    If you haven't checked out the full series, FYI it shows you how to transfer a METAHUMAN into MAYA, add easy body and face animation, transfer it to UNREAL ENGINE 5.0.2, and then export it as a final movie file.
    HOW TO INSTALL MY “METAHUMAN PRESET” FOR MAYA
    Download the XML file at my GitHub: github.com/virtualfilmer/Maya...
    Then install it here:
    "C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\HIKCharacterizationTool6\template"
    You will then have it as a template option inside “Edit Character Definition” in the HUMANIK tools in MAYA.
    WHY AM I USING MAYA 2022?
    In these videos I am using MAYA 2022, because that is the latest version of MAYA that the Quixel plug-in support (which is required for importing MetaHumans from Bridge). The latest Quixel plug-in support information is here:

      Hi buddy! Thanks, it’s a whole series of five videos - you should check them all out. I just uploaded, so let me know if there are any mistakes lol. I go through how I connected the live link in part 4 of the series - th-cam.com/video/8gc8rd-t5Yk/w-d-xo.html But to answer your question - the live link for the MetaHuman connects in Maya to DHihead:spine_04 for the face and and DHibody.root for the body. The body is rigged with HumanIK - so no plug-ins etc.
