Nice review. I’m looking forward to the new electric cars in the next few years. I hope you review them all as I’ll be buying one. I like Tesla but it’s way too expensive.
Compelling. But not enough range. As a second car, the price along with tax credit makes it worth while. As a primary car, it’s more difficult to consider.
Enjoyed your review. Idea I thought of and feel free not to use it but when you say start it up, it may be cool to have the camera on the gauge cluster to see how that illuminates as if the viewer was in the driver seat.
Thank you for saving me the trouble of watching this video. I have no interest whatsoever in watching a mini cooper video if there is not reaction from Matt.
The range really limits it. Just over 200kms isn’t enough for it to be an “only” car (especially here in Australia where we’ll drive that far for a weekend lunch)...and it’s an expensive 2nd car (it’s Cooper S money here and they ain’t cheap) for urban duties only.
We’re other car journalists there I seen that spot you’re at in almost every picture of the car lol also isn’t the mini just a bmw i3?!I think I saw car and driver say that it uses the same old power train
Matt Maran Motoring You should soon because they stopped making them last year I believe. 😔 I got. 2015 used with 14k miles for only 8500.00. I have put on 15k miles with zero issues!
@@jbdoingjbstuff I mean it definitely works for me so I would consider it. I also won't have to worry about the traditional Mini mechanical reliability..
Just look at the mess that was the i3 the electronics start to break down well before the simple little battery atleast the power train hasn’t bankrupt people unlike the Nissan Leaf
If I was head of Honda North America, I would replace the Fit in the lineup with the E, and offer an Si version. Unfortunately we are addicted to crossovers.
Okay, so... low range, no cruise control OR autopilot, dated sat nav, no charging network, hard ride, low hp, no frunk, same price as a model 3.... how is this a compelling option... next!
With the fed tax credit now expired for Tesla, in some states you could buy two of these MINIs for the price of a $40K Tesla. If handling means more to a buyer than range, this is the car to buy.
But does it have smaht pahk?
Great Review! Interesting car for people who commute daily in their local area.
Thanks Marc!
I remember first seeing the electric Mini concept back in 2008
Now it looks so much better
Hi Matt. Nice vid. Liked before watching because I knew it was going to be good
Nice review. I’m looking forward to the new electric cars in the next few years. I hope you review them all as I’ll be buying one. I like Tesla but it’s way too expensive.
Probably the only mini I'd consider. It would be actually kinda reliable since it doesn't have an engine lol
Very Insightful & informative video. Totally buying! Thank you for this.
Great review as usual Matt.
Nice review. I'd prefer larger batteries and a longer range. 250 to 300 miles would be nice.
No acceleration reaction = No fast-forward to the only reason we watch Matt's Channel 😪
FINALLY, an electric car under 3500lbs!! Don't care if it is not insanely quick, it is basically an electric hot hatch!
Compelling. But not enough range. As a second car, the price along with tax credit makes it worth while. As a primary car, it’s more difficult to consider.
Ioniq 190 miles and well equiped.

i want one, the cybertruck looks cool, but i need a car pretty soon
A Matt Maran review without an acceleration reaction 💔
Thank you for saving me the trouble of watching this video. I have no interest whatsoever in watching a mini cooper video if there is not reaction from Matt.
I’m loving this yes!!!!!
My basement is filled with people who wanted an electric mini
Noobi you killed them?
@@_baller no, there isnt any
Great review

If you think your Car is giving you headaches, you are not alone. My Mini giving me such headaches..... Due To EMF !!!
Looks amazing
No acceleration?!
Can the car even accelerate?
2020 Mini Cooper SE Review - It's ELECTRIC!
I like the shorter review
I like how whenever the taillights are on, it looks like the UK flag
It's electric..boogie uoogie uoogie uoogie uoogie!
You beat me to this comment.
@@JulezWinnfield hahaha...I figured somebody in the world would get it!
Looks great actually!!
Review a 2019 Ford Edge

Yeah this was filmed on the press drive so lots of other journalists there. Powertrain is the same as i3 but the battery is a different shape.
Test Drive new 2020 Hyundai Veloster N Performance ?. 🤔Please.

Fast forward to a post apocalyptic world where you and your buddies are reminiscing on the days of yore. Do you tell them you drove a Mini electric?
I'd take it over a regular mini
Instant like for reviewing an EV
Have you driven the 500e? It’s the true go-cart electric car👌
I haven't, but I'd love to try one out!
Matt Maran Motoring You should soon because they stopped making them last year I believe. 😔 I got. 2015 used with 14k miles for only 8500.00. I have put on 15k miles with zero issues!
The MINIac Of course you would say that.
10:35 Tesla in the background
2020 Cooper SE has an estimated driving range of 110 miles on a full charge. Ouch!
Should be perfectly fine for most commutes
@@ciello___8307 Unfortunately should be fine is not good enough this day and age. You are paying a premium and you should get it.
@@jbdoingjbstuff I mean it definitely works for me so I would consider it. I also won't have to worry about the traditional Mini mechanical reliability..
Just get a used i3 pretty much the same
Those wheels are atrocious
legendary mini reliability.....wonder how many miles before it breaks down
Its an electric motors so it shoulld be more reliable than any mini lol
Just look at the mess that was the i3 the electronics start to break down well before the simple little battery atleast the power train hasn’t bankrupt people unlike the Nissan Leaf
@@TheMINIac JD power also gives Chevrolet awards for build quality so youll forgive me if i think their opinions are trash. Thanks but no thanks.
Great review. Terrible range. Tech is out there. Look at the VW ID-3, 250mls range. Increase range and battery management, it will sell.
Oh Jersey plates
But the Honda e....
Wish they were sending it to the States.
If I was head of Honda North America, I would replace the Fit in the lineup with the E, and offer an Si version. Unfortunately we are addicted to crossovers.
@@rithikpatel3613 There was a Honda Fit EV in 2012 but they ended production in 2015
Bet this thing is super unreliable like other Minis
It’s likely to be more reliable since there’s no engine.
BMW i3 drivetrain is proven so it's probably decent in the mini also.
Matt Maran Motoring good point. Anytime I think of Mini I remember back to the problems you had with your old one before you got the Mustang
Okay, so... low range, no cruise control OR autopilot, dated sat nav, no charging network, hard ride, low hp, no frunk, same price as a model 3.... how is this a compelling option... next!
It attracted you!
Honestly, that giant front bumper that looks like a big manta mouth looks uglier than the nose cone of the old tesla model s.
From driving a beautiful classic to........that
Great car for people who like going going to see ice capades.
If battery charging is your hobby, this is the car for you. The range is really horrible...🤔
With this price and mileage, I rather get Tesla 3 short range
Sucks model 3 crashes it and not that much more
With the fed tax credit now expired for Tesla, in some states you could buy two of these MINIs for the price of a $40K Tesla. If handling means more to a buyer than range, this is the car to buy.
Range needs to be 250+, needs all wheel drive option. Otherwise a complete fail...
Yet it attracted you!
