      Airdrie is a city sized ghetto and cochrane is only for rich people.
      Okotoks is a much better option.

    Moved to Airdrie in the summer of 2022 from the Vancouver area, not because we had our hearts set on Airdrie, but because it was the only city outside of Calgary with houses available at that time that were in our budget. We feel like we lucked out on a constant basis because we're so close to the airport to pick up family who visit, have the rec centre and library within five minutes of home, and Calgary with all of its many amenities (including Bowness and Shouldice Park) is a short drive away. Airdrie is perfect for us. :)

      Glad you’re loving Airdrie! I feel like Airdrie was undervalued for a long time compared to Calgary & other surrounding towns. It’s caught up a bit, but it’s still the most affordable of the 4 major towns around Calgary!

      Do you like paying 500 thousand for a house on a lot that can hardly fit it and pay some of the highest property taxes in the province

      @@kevinlatulippe6944 Our 1,000 sq ft condo in the worst/most dangerous part of Langley sold for $619K when we were asking for $499K, and places there have only gone up into the 700K mark since we left. We paid $2,400 a year on property taxes there (for a condo), in addition to $500 a month on strata fees, so I get that prices here have gone up and it sucks, but it could be so much worse like in the lower mainland and most of BC where you entirely give up hope for ever owning a home.

    I love how close Cochrane is to the mohntains and that you can see them from some parts. However, being from a big city, Airdire is more to my liking. Its great that Calgary is so accessible. Airdire seeems to have more diverse ethnicities. I value that greatly.

    Great job Brad! I personally live in Airdrie but love the small town cowboy feel of Cochrane. Airdrie from a personal perspective works well from a small city feel with incredible access to large city amenities. I love the mountains and do not mind an additional 30 minutes to get there.

      I agree with everything you said! I really like the amenities in Airdrie being a small city, and how close it is to Calgary, but I really love the feel of Cochrane. Thanks for watching!

    I work in Airdrie,.. hate the place. Everyone drives like they are 90 years old and blind. The RCMP hassle everyone all the time because it's a training detachment. Rush hour traffic to and from Calgary is absolutely nuts. Getting out of south Airdrie on Yankee Valley is a nightmare of traffic. It grew too big too fast without proper infrastructure. Highly not recommended.

    Cochrane for the win. No comparison for us. Small town feel. Closer to Banff and great outdoor activities. We're moving from the lower mainland of B.C. Airdrie feels like Surrey north.

    This was an interesting comparison 🙂. I’m from bigger cities and the cuntry. I find Airdrie town ish and refer to it as such. I always forget about the other side or east side as I really need to go there. And I’m smack in the middle 😊. I wonder if Airdrie at some point will eat up Crossfield? And how big is Cochrane is able to actually be allowed to get? I am very happy in Airdrie.

      @brad.walker.airdrie.realtor  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment! Being right in the middle of Airdrie I could see how it feels more like a town. We used to live downtown Airdrie as well and it does have a more small town feel in there.
      At the moment I don’t think there’s any population restrictions on Cochrane. They continue to develop on the op of the ridge now that the river valley is filling up.

      Both Airdrie and Cochrane rent very well. Depending on what you’re looking for and how much your downpayment is, it can be trickier to cash flow with the current interest rates.
      Less options than a few years ago, but still able to find cash flow!

We also have a very high influx of immigrants flooding our city. So yes, Calgary has become a complete Shit hole. Sad. Cheers mate.
