Maybe word that a little differently because there are injuries in almost every sport that are having career ending injuries and even death like soccer is a sport I don't really watch much very rarely only when my dad's watching his team and you see these soccer players going up for the ball and you see them hitting each other in the heads and they're both going like as fast as they can cuz they're hustling to get to that bowl and they both knock each other's brains her heads and then you see football players in the NFL American football which is my favorite sport that the helmet doesn't protect the players enough or the padding that they use on certain limbs or anything doesn't protect enough because of the way that a hit forces up specific body part so like if you're coming 100 miles an hour to tackle somebody and you make contact just on their head and neck like you could paralyze the guy you could kill the guy and there was even a case in the NFL where someone died on a special teams play a play where a team kicks the ball to the player and he has to run with it and follow his blockers to try to get as many yards or touched on as you can and someone came down 100 mph in like spear the guy in the head or just contacted his head and neck and he died during that play or later that night or whatever because of it so I would just say like word that a little different maybe say boxing is the only sport that you get your brain shook more than any sport because they're literally taking blows to the face and head like you have one person literally during a whole fight trying to punch you in the face and trying to punch in the head to create damage! I know that is a quote apparently from Joe Frazier so just edit something after that quote
If you get concussion in F1 they won't let you drive for 3 months because a second concussion in that time can cause irreversible damage. American contact sportsmen just seem to dive back in right away(e.g American Football). It's pretty horrific when you think about it.
I think the scariest concussions happen from pop warner through college. I’ve seen some disgusting knockouts in football but half the time you don’t feel anything after taking a break so you go back in I remember high school was a little more strict on concussions but back during them 10 to 13 age you got kids getting blasted it’s insane.
A good story I heard was from michael Bisping after Dan henderson knocked him out cold at UFC 100. Bisping says that he was in the back room after the fight and didn’t know he’d already fought. He thought he was getting ready for the fight and his team had to tell him about 5 times that he’d just been knocked out. If that’s not brain damage then I don’t know what is 🧠 💣
Former K1 champion Tetsuya Yamato told the exact same story, he got knocked out by the legendary Saenchai and the memory of that fight just gone, he ended remember nothing about it and thought he haven't fought yet. th-cam.com/video/K-vdEI3jiuI/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/b9E48kUca6s/w-d-xo.html
Honestly, that sort of reaction is not that concerning. The scary stuff is all long term. People wake up from surgery (none of which was on their brain) and they are often just as confused. I've been knocked out in a car crash (don't know how long I was out but it wasn't more than a minute or so). I still don't remember the crash or the 5min or so before. I was just as confused waking up in a car that was now in a corn field... I tried turning the car off (it was certainly not running). I had tons of tests run on me and had no long-term impact on my brain at all. Your brain deals with trauma often times by suppressing the memory of the trauma (at least this is what many professionals told me).
@@Telthar that’s an interesting perspective. Being knocked out like that can’t be too good for the old melon 🍈 Good to hear you’re doing well tho now mate 👍🏼
After I got my first concussion from sparring, I seriously backed off from sparring for months. Used to do it 3-4 times a week, now I do it once every couple months, and I go light. It's not worth your future health. Once you feel that fuzzy, dumb concussed state, you realize how serious it is.
Well they believe now the most important factor is recovery. So you're going about it the right way. The worst way to go is when you're concussed to take repeated hits and pile on. It's the equivalent of going running with a broken leg. I believe that's why Chris Benoit was in such a bad state because he'd get a concussion and continue to wrestle taking hits all the time.
@@hgod7329 I used to spare heavy and not care what I took because for my lightweight I had one hell of a jaw from growing up being stomped out and jumped and never got knocked out or even dazed. Then I took shrooms and me and 3 other men through a 350lbs metal gate and the 2 last bars wacked me back to back to the part of my skull where it curves out. and I felt that closing tunnel vision and you literally clench your fists to stay up (I heard it from karate and kickboxing to do that to prevent yourself from going completely out) I was barley able to stand and fell over to prevent myself from falling down that cliff and I legit couldnt stand. From then on i realized how bad a head injury can be (i was lucky to just get that concussion) and have been actively against any kind of striking or slamming hard because if you're not being paid or in a life or death situation theres absolutely no need to potentially ruin your brain.
How hard do you have to be hit for brain damage/CTE to occur? I’ve just started sparring in Muay Thai and most people go light but occasionally a few “hard hitters”. Is mild discomfort when getting hit enough to cause it? Do you have be be knocked out for brain damage to occur?
@@mcseedat I remember reading in MMA forums a lot of denial, saying that because they don’t have long rounds, more grappling, and rarely have true knockouts, that CTE would be rare and not an issue. This was in 2010 or so; now people talk openly about mma fighters having CTE.
I talked to a neurologist and he said sometimes people can take up to a few years to recover from a head injury. This can be reversed with eating fats, sleep, and doing something like dance lessons to improve neuron connectivity. TBI and CTE are two different things but can be POTENTIALLY related. It's weird because you have guys like Joe (and my 60yo uncle who has over 50 kickboxing fights) and they're very cognitive, healthy, and smarter than the average person. xD Anyways, I think grappling will become much more popular because of the knowledge we have about brain damage lol
Joe definitely has damage if you listen closely. He forgets a lot of basic things and his ability to recall accurate info is really poor. Gets things muddled a lot. He def took a lot of damage.
@@Basethagod THe brain heals, our bodies heal... CTE is actually not common even among combat athletes, having said that of course there will be an increased risk of it when you box or spar really hard. Some people basically are walking around no problem like mike tyson or holyfield. But CTE is the least of you concern they have better health care and treatment available now than even 5 years back, even without illegal punches you can end up like prichard colon and be bed bound and unable to move. One wrong collision of the brain can lead to swelling or if worse bleeding...

My brother got knocked out when he was 23 or 24 by 3 mma fighters ganging up on him. When he was down they kept kicking him in the head over and over like 20 or 30 times when he was uncontious. Got staples in his head and everything. Started having seizures shortly there after. He's 32 now and has been battling it for a long time now. He gets a really bad episodes every 6 months, but they haven't been accuring as much as they used to, thank god. But he is slower mentally than he used to be and sleeps alot more bc of the pills he takes and rest is good for his brain. Brain damage over time from repeated head injury is real!! That’s why boxing is more dangerous then MMA for head trauma. Yes, MMA knockouts are more severe. But once your wobbled your usually KOed so it’s not that bad. In boxing you get more head shots and get wobbled for frequently.. but you keep fighting until you drop
Like someone else said. In Mma the rules are if you get TKO'd they call it of. Whilst in boxing if you don't throw in the towel and or get taken down 3 times in one round and the 10 secound count then you can continue. In the ring you turn of higher brain functions. Just fighting. No thought of your well being or so.
Yeah i was just watching that Tyson vs Holyfeild 1 fight, and jesus christ, holyfeild was beating the shit out of mike right before the stoppage, and all i was thinking was in Boxing, this is what getting the shit beat out of you is, just taking incredible damage to the head by great punchers, there probably isn't any fighting sport that is consistently worse in regards to long lasting damage than Boxing.
It took me more than 10 years to overcome a concussion I had when I was 17. I couldn't even speak a sentence immediately after like my mouth and brain were out of synch.
I started boxing 3 months ago and have recently had a couple of sparring sessions against my coaches/guys who have been training for between 5 and 10 years. Yesterday, I pretty much got beat up by one of them. And at the end of the session I took a fully loaded straight right. It was the first single punch I've ever taken that actually had an effect on me. I wasn't seeing stars or confused as to where I was but my left eye was going in and out of focus for about 30 minutes after the punch and I had a light headache for about two hours after. Do you think there is any chance whatsoever that I could have suffered any permanent brain injury from this? I love boxing but I will absolutely quit sparring/fighting if things like this are going to give me permanent brain injuries.
@@jacobbehm5941 I do sparring and the same happened to me but I went to a doctor in thi end it was OK buy if is hurt you so much you should go to a med
I've been doing it for almost 2 years now and I wouldn't get immediately discouraged if I were you. If you just want to be "competent" at MMA (NOT an Amateur Fighter) then you can do that in a relatively safe manner. But it depends on A) your sparring partners B) your instructor and C) your commitment. So naturally a lot of it comes down to finding the right kind of Gym and there are a lot of gyms that do it the wrong way as Joe Rogan explains it (especially back in the day). But I think many MMA coach's today understand that most people are not trying to become professional fighters and just want to understand basic self defense. So be vocal with your coach as to what your goals are and if he thinks you need to get knocked unconscious a few times to get better then walk away. Of course you should expect to get smacked across the head a few times but so long as these are not knockout punches then you should be relatively okay. But on the off chance you run into an asshole or a training accident then STOP, RELAX, Listen to your Body and Return to the Octagon when you're ready. This is what I've personally done and I've never suffered a concussion or anything overly traumatic. And I don't want to gloat too much but I've definately learned a lot. There is no rank in MMA but I did get my blue belt in BJJ and I'm not a badass or anything like that but I do feel as if I could take out the average asshole in a 1v1 situation.
Try to find a gym that does light sparring. And tbh, the threshold for each person is different when it comes to head trauma. For me, a few light strikes in quick succession during sparring is enough to give me a light headache for a few days. Others can take multiple full-power blows without feeling anything the next day.
I was in a car accident nearly 20 years ago where I rolled my vehicle 8 times, and my head hit on the grass field separation between interstate lanes at least 5 times. I got my first concussion yesterday during boxing sparring. At the beginning of the sparring, the teacher made it clear that it was supposed to be light and not strong, after doing the first sparring, everything went well, I was just taking some strong punches to the stomach. The second sparring was with a veteran who had had amateur fights... it was clear that I wasn't hitting to hurt and not with all my strength, however, the first punch he hit me knocked me down, he threw a very strong left cross. strong. He saw that he had hurt me and asked for forgiveness for hitting me so hard... I was naive and believed that it might not have been intentional... and then he hit me even harder with a right to the temple. My legs buckled, everything started spinning and I couldn't breathe. To date, I still feel a bit of headache, confusion, the urge to vomit, and a lot of anger at myself for being so naive. I didn't tell my girlfriend, family and friends. Combat sports are no joke, don't spar hard if you don't intend to become a professional fighter, don't take brain damage for nothing.
Hey man hope you're doing ok and your symptoms are gonne. Are they? I've heard similar stories from boxing before, older more experienced fighters just being jerks to new guys during sparing, looks like it's part of the culture in boxing, it's fucked up. Look at it from this perspective - maybe in a weird way that guy prevented you from taking more brain damage down the line and developing CTE, still a jerk but... I took judo again in my early 30' beacuse I like the culture of it, more experienced judokas taking care of a new guys, going light during randori, no hits in a head. The most important thing in combat sports especially boxing is learning to hit and not get hit, alot of people become hesitant after hearing the effects of getting knocked out, so am I, sometimes I actually become hesitant and say to myself if it's worth going into boxing to save my little brothers the pain of being poor or bullied but the difference is it's about head movement and footwork even if it doesn't give fight fans the spectacular fight everyone wants to see, it doesn't matter, because they're not the ones putting their life on the lines to fight and make money, so it DOES not matter if you don't base your combat strategy on just wild or power shots, it's ok to fight more defensively and not just throw a mass amount of punches to look more threatening because at the end of the day you're a fighter putting your life on the line and no one can tell you how to fight, it's better to fight in way that suited YOU and your health, not some fat fuck who watches fights and expects to see bloodshed in each fight. I do hope this comment can spread awareness or get some attention so people can know that head movement and footwork is what will prevent brain damage the MOST and that you should fight the way it suits you, not other people.
Alejandra Mendez bro totally agree with everything you said ✊🏾💯🙏🏾 that’s style I use a defensive hit and don’t get hit even though I have power in both hands I don’t rely on knockouts I just box and don’t get hit
Learn to roll punches, train footwork and head movements, and build up your speed, stamina and reflexes. Anything, ANYTHING you can do to minimise and prevent damage. These are some suggestions from a random person on the internet, stay safe out there and look after yourself, it's a cruel sport.
If you think the boxing 8 count's bad. Reminder that in Lethwei when a fighter gets ko'd, his corner is allowed 2 minutes to revive him to keep fighting and it gets marked as a knockdown. Could you imagine the ramifications of that happening multiple times over dozens of fights sometimes multiple times in under 30 minutes
Those corner men are just like the cockfighting guys. They put a fighter in and keep him active as long as they can knowing it will likely die after the match. Those fighters are disposable

My great uncle played both baseball and football for Ohio state, my grandfather also played football and was a great quarterback. Their brother took to basketball. My father played football but only to the high school level. I ended up taking to basketball and ran track and field at the college level. My great uncle that played football for Ohio died from dementia and my grandfather was diagnosed 20 some odd years ago with Lou Gehrig’s disease. He still alive but cannot move - he can still speak but barely and is in very poor shape. I can’t help but wonder if getting hit over and over again, especially when they had hardly any pads for football in those days, had an effect on them getting these diseases. Especially when I consider the fact that my great uncle Tony who played basketball instead of football is still alive, healthy, hilarious, is sharp as a tack and is even still teaching high school.
Guys if you wanna do fight sports with no risk: Do the whole training, including bag training just without the sparring. You only miss 20-25% of the training. Its ok. U will still be fit as f*ck with hard punches and incredible stamina. Fuck the risk, believe me. A nice guy broke my nose in training sparring. I was 24. Got operated the next day. Since then I got worse memory. I finished my law studies, (but learning felt harder after the incident), I hope I wont have any major problems with my head/brain in the future. I am 32 right now.

Rogan talks about boxing and I had the same experience. In college, I'm part of this martial arts club and I think I'm the S__t. But the University Boxing team worked out in the same gym and when they would come in, we got kicked out. However, I started to stick around and eventually i was able to get in the ring. Now, martial arts, where you could kick the legs, sweep, I was pretty good. Boxing? I got my butt kicked constantly. I sucked. It was a big wake up call. Thankfully, I was a girl and a few years later, I just quit because the boys I was sparing with got too big, too strong, too fast. I was like ok, this sucks, I'm out. lol.
i had always went light with girls even if they go 80% i need to go 10% or they get hurt.but i had heard of some gyms that dont care if its a girl or not its war lmao
To avoid brain damage when fighting one needs to be physically strong. Because regular exercise strengthens muscles, including those in the neck, which can provide better support for the head during impacts. Physical training enhances coordination and balance, helping individuals avoid or better absorb hits. And good cardiovascular fitness improves blood flow and overall brain health, which can aid in recovery from injuries. Training can sharpen reflexes and reaction times, allowing individuals to respond more effectively in high-pressure situations. And lastly athletes who train specifically for combat sports learn techniques to minimize the impact of blows, further protecting themselves. So just workout to be physically strong and work on your defensive to evade punches and reduce taking unnecessary damage. And you'll be fine
Another thing about boxers is half the time they get TKOd or KOd and they stay in the fight so basically they’re fighting after being dazed/flash KOd. Insane, good example in MMA would be what happened to kevin Holland recently with that headbutt.
One of my mom’s friends got a serious concussion during her hockey game. It’s been several years and she still has issues with semi bright lights, loud noises, and sporadic headaches
I got knocked unconscious from hitting my head on the ground, after 5 to 10mins of being awake again I went blind and was rushed to hospital. I was awake but completely unable to see anything for what seemed like a long time (probably ~15mins). I had a broken collar bone as well as concussion. Definitely lost a few brain cells that time. My dad fell out of a car when he was a kid which caused a head injury, my grandparents reckoned he was never quite the same afterwards.
That's EXACTLY why that final hammer blow to guys who are already knocked out should be illegal! The 1st knock out blow is one thing. But when the head slams on the floor on the fall is a whole other type of rock in the brain. But to then have a guy come down and hammer your head on the ground one more type while you're defenseless and already out is straight up attempted murder in my opinion. There is absolutely no reason for that.
There is a reason for that. Sometimes fighters who have been knocked down somehow recover and come back to defeat their opponent who knocked them out. Nobody wants to lose that way. Maybe they are all brain damaged to participate in that insanity.
@ArcoZakus I was in boxing, sir. I go by a different set of rules. No WIN or "embarrassment" is worth taking a persons life. It's chicken shit. There is a reason fighters get so much praise when they show restraint in situations like that. But it's horrible seeing fighters in handicap situations for the rest of their lives for a fight worth a few thousand dollars.
When i was new in boxing my trainer propably expected me to be some genetic freak because im short and a bit muscular and got wide hips and a chest I really struggled with my defense and my trainer gave my Sparring partner a professional boxer a task To knock me out so i learn the hard way to keep my hands up He didnt knocked me out he tried but he tkoed me and i got a concussion For 3 straight weeks i always got headache especially when i moved my head a bit down or up Started really asking myself why im doing this because all people just wanted to spar hard You can just punch like Medium hard and thats enough but some dudes try to kill you or to knock you out for no reason Its just not worth it to spar like that
A blood test reveals brain damage nowadays, though not to what extent the damage is. There's a particular protein created when a person takes trauma to the brain, and the blood test detects that particular protein.
If you chose to get involved in anything that involves head trauma as an acceptable norm. Whatever happens down the road is your own self induced problem.
Mma might look like the most brutal of all fighting combat sports but i really think boxing is as the main area concentrated on is the head. In mma there’s different avenues to take for the guys that cant take a punch to the head

This makes sense as to why Shane Mosley just randomly had a hard time talking and whatnot like he was punch drunk. One moment he was all good, then I seen an interview with him talking like that out of nowhere.
Joe dont you think you need to tell Dana about this problem, I'm sure he knows what's going on. It's all about the money. These people dont care about your dreams ,just about fulfilling there dreams, watch out young fighters, you can see what's going on with McGregor, and he hasn't been hit alot, but it's already showing, at least he has enough since to get out of it, one hit can mess you up for life. Everybody cant be a Mayweather.
A lot of old people develop problems when they are old. My grandmother could barely form sentences at 70, and she never got punch in the head. At a certain old age we just start breaking down, some sooner than others. Obviously for fighter's the first part of the body to go out is their brain, for a construction worker their back, and for an office worker their wrists, etc... Eventually most of us are just and old, painful mess.
Had to learn to fight, because of the amount of brain damage I’ve taken as a kid. 16 years later i got slammed by my father fresh out of bed. And it took me eight weeks to even just get out of bed, head aches, all my nerves hurt all over my body, I might have been the victor but I took that much damage my body wouldn’t work the way it did. My legs got weaker, my hands now shake all the time, my depth perception went to shit I now experience vertigo everyday snd it was All because he doesn’t know how to cry and has to be violent In order to express himself. but now my body doesn’t work the way it did only eight weeks before. Jesus Christ. So you learned to fight because of brain damage your acquired from childhood, then 16 years later your father slammed you fresh out of bed? What the fuck are you trying to say? Try again, this time use basic grammar and sentence structure to make a clear, concise, timeline of events and state dates and times VERY clearly. Frankly, there's no excuse for typing so stupidly, brain damaged or not. You clearly will never recover from this brain damage if you don't atleast try to be literate and eligible. Yes, life is rally honest and fair... 😏 More and more and more young people are dying even sooner than their parents nowadays! Life is SHORT, so WHY are they all in such a big hurry to DIE??? 🤔 Better to be OLD, than to NEVER even grow old at all. Being older, simply means that you'll at least be able to reflect back on all of the things and experiences you had in life... At least you can say: "Hey man, I was there at the party! Where was YOU?" Can't really say the same about these youngsters; all dying in like their 20s, and 30s. These days? YOUNGER you are, just means the LONGER you'll SUFFER!!! 😝
It ain’t just knockouts..it’s when you get your bell rung when you spar that does the damage. It’s a weird feeling to describe unless you’ve felt it. Boxing is the worst..transitioning from Muay Thai to boxing did damage
Muhammad Ali didn't have parkinson a lot how people get it wrong he had Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) because of concussions on his boxing days. Sadly it's quite common in combat sports and football
I graduated high school in a boot camp program called YCP and the first fight I got in was the first time I ever got knocked out in a fight and it was so weird. Felt like I was out for hours but apparently I bounced right back up and kept fighting. Don’t remember anything until we were standing outside the cadres offices
Joe has to understand that Its not just the players though, its the KIDS and WIVES that also goes through abuse and mental trauma. With players, who have played violent sports most of their life, losing control of their mental faculties. Some of them have died violently by their own hands. Maybe its the guilt, suffering, anxiety that they go through. And any human with this disease is a ticking time bomb. Even if they dont get violent, imagine seeing your Dad or partner go through the degradation and the indignity. Not all for banning sports but there has to be a management system in place to protect not just the players but the families, women and kids especially.
For those who have brain damage or head trauma, you can try hbot (hyperbaric oxygen theraphy) as a healing treatment alternative. It is a treatment where you breath in pressurized environment. It has been reported to be quite successful in treating brain damage that is acute (treatment is given within 2-3 hours after the impact) and chronic (delayed years after the incident) .
Joe you just made my day,i have had so many people argue with me that Ali's neurological disorder was not Brain damage, well i agree with Joe when he said Ali had Parkinson induced by brain damage disorder.
One thing that's important to know is the threshold for each person is different. How many hits one guy can take vs another differs completely. Drs swore to me up&down i didn't have a concussion. People in my daily life told a different story. Back in high school i remember undergoing a sharp mental growth spurt that came to an abrupt halt and other cognitive issues. In my early 20s in college i was definitely noticing differences in my cognition compared to my peers, even though my gut told me i could've been doing better in classes. Doctors still say nothing's wrong except for minor psychological stuff. But i would still advise young folk to be cautious with contact martial arts
I can confirm what joe said about your legs giving out when you get knocked out. I got hit in the head with an excavator bucket last year and i was knocked out for a few seconds but i def went right down and when i tried getting back up my legs were jello. Had to get 7 stitches

Uh american football has the highest percent of athletes with CTE but sure

After I got my first concussion from sparring, I seriously backed off from sparring for months. Used to do it 3-4 times a week, now I do it once every couple months, and I go light. It's not worth your future health. Once you feel that fuzzy, dumb concussed state, you realize how serious it is.
Same situation here bro. Gonna skip a few sparring sessions and start taking my defense seriously.
From then on i realized how bad a head injury can be (i was lucky to just get that concussion) and have been actively against any kind of striking or slamming hard because if you're not being paid or in a life or death situation theres absolutely no need to potentially ruin your brain.

@@mcseedat I remember reading in MMA forums a lot of denial, saying that because they don’t have long rounds, more grappling, and rarely have true knockouts, that CTE would be rare and not an issue. This was in 2010 or so; now people talk openly about mma fighters having CTE.
It’s already there in boxing
I talked to a neurologist and he said sometimes people can take up to a few years to recover from a head injury. This can be reversed with eating fats, sleep, and doing something like dance lessons to improve neuron connectivity.
TBI and CTE are two different things but can be POTENTIALLY related. It's weird because you have guys like Joe (and my 60yo uncle who has over 50 kickboxing fights) and they're very cognitive, healthy, and smarter than the average person. xD

God. I want to learn MMA, but the brain damage stories and studies are making me hesitant
There is no rank in MMA but I did get my blue belt in BJJ and I'm not a badass or anything like that but I do feel as if I could take out the average asshole in a 1v1 situation.
life short, just say fck it and go for it
Try to find a gym that does light sparring. And tbh, the threshold for each person is different when it comes to head trauma. For me, a few light strikes in quick succession during sparring is enough to give me a light headache for a few days. Others can take multiple full-power blows without feeling anything the next day.

@Thelonious Coltrane actually, allthough I don't like him Floyd Mayweather didn't even go down less knocked out in all of his 50 fights

But to then have a guy come down and hammer your head on the ground one more type while you're defenseless and already out is straight up attempted murder in my opinion. If you chose to get involved in anything that involves head trauma as an acceptable norm. Whatever happens down the road is your own self induced problem.
"Save your chickens" "Brain" - Max Halloway. On hard sparing and full contact, before getting into the the actual fight.
Mma might look like the most brutal of all fighting combat sports but i really think boxing is as the main area concentrated on is the head.
In mma there’s different avenues to take for the guys that cant take a punch to the head
I doubt boxing 46 amateur contests helped, But I have deteriorated in the past decade after being kicked unconscious and stamped on until my head was blue. Depression Anger and dizziness and headaches. Gonna see those 3 dudes in the next life
This is crazy I done a lot of amateur boxing but I got jumped by 4 guys walking home from a club with a girl.. I got knocked out cold and repeatedly kicked in the head on the floor.. since then I’ve suffered from severe anxiety attacks.. depression.. mood swings.. headaches, dizziness.. long life to you bro
@@JamieD247 PTSD with Long lasting symptoms and injuries ✊❤️You are strong and stronger than you think xx
@@JamieD247 how you now Jamie? Ive heard great things about psilocybin.
This makes sense as to why Shane Mosley just randomly had a hard time talking and whatnot like he was punch drunk. One moment he was all good, then I seen an interview with him talking like that out of nowhere.
I'll get my kid in to wrestling and BJJ. Hell no to football, MMA, Muay thai, boxing or any stricking/sparring martial art.
You should still get him Into a striking class of some sort, it's a myth that most fights go to the ground
ranger10301 its not a myth if its not a super fast fight it’s probably going to get to a grappling situation its just human nature
@Left on third base holding a catcher's mitt my survival instincts make me want to punch not grab
I'd definitely have them in Muay Thai classes for the pad/bag work. It would definitely be beneficial and there's no fear of any brain damage.
ranger10301 not a myth
Joe dont you think you need to tell Dana about this problem, I'm sure he knows what's going on. It's all about the money. These people dont care about your dreams ,just about fulfilling there dreams, watch out young fighters, you can see what's going on with McGregor, and he hasn't been hit alot, but it's already showing, at least he has enough since to get out of it, one hit can mess you up for life. Everybody cant be a Mayweather.
Mcgregor? lol -,- he doesnt
What’s the point in living if you don’t take any risks
I love to fight but I hate aggression!
You can sit typing like this all day if you want, it will only make your condition worse, and frankly I really hope it does. See idiots like you allllll day long at my doctor's office. Take it from a neurologist, you are a blooming idiot and deserve whatever slow death is approaching you. You're just another idiot who wastes everyone's time getting advice you'll never use. I've seen this over and over again. You'll whine and pout that you gave yourself head trauma all the while ignoring any advice drs give you, instead you just make it about yourself and your pity. Goodbye.
*I boxed Amateur at Golden Gloves, World Amateur Championships, and Nationals. I had 46 fights ending up 42-4. Stopped sparring and competing by 30 years old.I went to College and had kids. By, 40 years old. I graduated from California State University with BSN degree in Nursing. At 60 years old, I have no abnormal brain function whatsoever. Boxing apparently knocked some sense into my brain function. It made me smarter somehow lol*
i bet you didnt get too many head blows
I wonder if alistair overseem will feel that ko he suffered against ngannou 10 years from now
@Audio Antiquity i don't think so, he was out cold for minutes ..

Yes, life is rally honest and fair... 😏
More and more and more young people are dying even sooner than their parents nowadays!
Life is SHORT, so WHY are they all in such a big hurry to DIE??? 🤔
Better to be OLD, than to NEVER even grow old at all.
Being older, simply means that you'll at least be able to reflect back on all of the things and experiences you had in life... At least you can say: "Hey man, I was there at the party! Where was YOU?"
Can't really say the same about these youngsters; all dying in like their 20s, and 30s.
Just got rocked yesterday like that
Muhammad Ali didn't have parkinson a lot how people get it wrong he had Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) because of concussions on his boxing days.
Joes animations are the best
I can confirm what joe said about your legs giving out when you get knocked out. I got hit in the head with an excavator bucket last year and i was knocked out for a few seconds but i def went right down and when i tried getting back up my legs were jello. Had to get 7 stitches
Hard work is the answer most of the time until you need rest
I respect his honesty lol
Does someone know what episode is this? I wanna hear all the conversation!!
There are 7 year olds in Thailand head kick koing each other all the time.
What the fuck man lmao
And then there's Lethwei where you get knocked out in a fight and continue the fight after 2 minutes
that's why thailand is a 3rd world shithole #MAGA
clycoo5276 Americas not much better😂 riots and people getting shot everyday
Thats why there country is still living in swamps brother.
Kaokalai Kaenorsering. Love that fight.
