CARBON FIBRE MIRROR CAPS INSTALL! | FOCUS RS CARBON PART 5

- First off, I would NOT reccomend you buy these from Kuro Carbon!
This video was originally filmed back in 2018 and sat on the shelf until now. The reason is that within days of installation, one of the caps developed a clear coat issue. It looks like scuffs but somehow underneath the clear coat. I have since seen similar marking on other people's carbon products where moisture is able to permeate the top layer (most likely at the edges if not sealed properly) and this then gets trapped between the carbon and clear coat.
At the time, I was told they would replace the caps. After about 3 months - yes, 3 long months, they finally sent out another set of caps (Dave was sick for about a month of this so I didn't mind too much about the wait and they gave me a gift to say sorry). When I tried installing the replacements, they just wouldn't go into place. This was a similar experience that I had with cheaper eBay caps in the past. I then tried putting on the 1st set of caps from Kuro and they went on just fine. So the 2nd set of caps were also not right but in a different way.
I again made contact and was told that they were indeed not actual MK3 Focus RS caps but that they thought they would fit but would get it sorted with a set of caps they had in their workshop, so again I was in a waiting game.
Weeks later with no contact other than his little helper telling me to post caps back because he wanted them for his car, I had heard nothing. During this time, I did some promo on my social media for Kuro Carbon anyway (of my own volition, not under request of contract) as I continued having faith that I would eventually get sorted despite the vast amount of time and lack of quality control in the previous 2 sets of caps.
After Dave's little helper completely misreading - or probably not reading at all - one of my social media posts, I received a tirade of abuse from both the helper/lap dog and Dave Kuro himself. Coming from 2 angles is tantamount to an attempt at bullying. So despite me having the patience of a saint, being supportive of the company over the months sending them business, etc. (with nothing in the way of thanks), I get dog's abuse.
So enough is enough. I edited out all the nice things I said about Kuro Carbon from this video. I even edited out saying the word 'Kuro' lol
I have a potential new option for carbon mirror caps for my Focus RS so if that works out, I will make another video!

Wow, just read the description. What a shit experience. You can only be so patient. I can't believe they admitted to sending the completely wrong part. Absolutely terrible customer service. Glad you found something else.

Adam I do believe you should've called out Kuro Carbon in this video, I think you should've done a small piece to camera but the bad customer service but that's my opinion of it. I reckon if Tim was getting the carbon mirror caps they would be made to the greatest quality and they would actually bother their arse to check they fit on the car.
Yea man I know but I'm not a big fan of conflict so I just wanted to get the video out of the way and forget about it. To be honest the level of nasty abuse they both threw at me (dave Kuro and his little lap dog kavan flanagan, made me struggle to get motivated to film anything. Real bullying stuff. But I didn't rise to it in any of the private chats, taking the high road kind of thing. I just want them to dissappear, which is likely in the long run with their shoddy business practices. I don't think they made it into Tim's car. Probably for a good reason...

I really did have the patience of a saint and was willing to keep waiting but when they start verbally abusing me, I ain't gonna take it. This video is really just a 'what could have been' kind of thing, a long lost video from the archives. I'm probs gonna remove these pretty soon when I get time. Lol at the weight saving :D These technically add weight cos they just glue some carbon on top of a plastic cap. I am starting to change my mind about what I was going to do for exterior carbon. Just doesn't seem worth the hassle. Cheers John!

where do get the carbon fiber parts man ?
various places, have to shop around to find the best stuff and also NEVER buy from Kuro carbon. They are crap and have terrible customer service. These caps developed a fault very quick - what looked to be water in between the clear coat and the carbon weave and someone on facebook I saw recently posted about the exact same issue with a Kuro rear wing on his RS so they clearly don't know what they are even doing
