Grinding up some chickpeas is a good idea, I'll try it next time. In Maharashtra we add some diced potato aswell. Only difference in spices is that we add bristo and tamarind paste.
Yes, typical lovely texture healthy food, now some twist can be given by adding bunch of methi, tomatoes also must for nutrient absorption especially iron and so on but chick peas are very healthy fiber protein and carbs
Yes sister! Tinned chickpeas can be used for this recipe. But they won't give you that smooth texture as these freshly boiled chickpeas do. I'll suggest you to try both ways and compare the difference.
