John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill was born in Hong Kong, and graduated from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in 1926. He would later earn the nickname “Mad Jack” or “Fighting Jack” for fighting with a longbow, bagpipes, and a sword in World war two.

During his later years he would take a train home from work. Passengers would be shocked when he opened a window and tossed his briefcase into a garden along the tracks and then he would get off the train, walk home and go out into his garden and pick up his briefcase. He lived beside the tracks and so decided it was easier to throw his case into his garden instead of carrying it home. The train driver was apparently in on it

This makes perfect sense. I’ve often thrown my work bag from a moving consist. Heck, jumped off them too even though it’s not ohs etc. the tricky bit is the ballast. It’s like Big Sand and not nice on unexpected ankles. You need to lace your boots decently tight.

Imagine the shock and confusion for the Germans when they found out someone killed their men with sword wounds and arrows.
That would have caused the germans to take major hits to their moral. Just imagine you lose an entire regiment, spy comes back and tells you how they captured your men with a sword and a bow and arrow. That would break me man. I give my soldiers these state of the art guns, and they lose to a fricken bow and arrow. Thats like going into an MMORPG and you like DUDE I GOT GUNS IM OP HAHA and the level 900 with bow maxed out just one hits your entire army.

Mad Jack is one of those people that has real life plot armor. I thought the stories were exaggeration at first.

Mad Jack Churchill commanded my Grandfather at Yugoslavia - Sergeant John Davies A Troop 43 Commando Royal Marines. He passed away before I ever got the chance to know him but he served in Naval Intelligence at one time so all his records are kept under lock and key

During one charge the Germans had the high ground but in the chaos and the darkness of night he managed to sneak behind enemy lines and killed a man with his sword. The attack was so bizarre and it was so hard to see the German soldiers that saw the attack thought it was some sort of monster or demon and surrendered in pure fear.

Props to simple history for an ACCURATE representation of a Scottish broadsword. Well done, sir.
Also the Bren Gun. Whoever designed that weapon with the magazine on the top, was fucking high.
The top feeding magazine makes it so that your can have a 30-round magazine and still be able to fire it in the prone. The Bren is not the first to have the top-feed mag as the gun was developed from the Madsen Light Machine Gun.
I know, there is also the Owen submachine gun used by the Australians for example. But it still looks somewhat weird to me.

One of the clearest memories I have in elementary school was learning about WW2. And had an interest in archery at the time I asked my teacher if bows were ever used in WW2. My teacher actually laughed and said, "Really? This is WW2. they used guns...c'mon" making me feel stupid.
