the problem with overclocking is that the normal GPUs are so extremely powerful that it is not more necessary. For me personally it is the opposite for everyday use, it needs less noise and heat and saves power. I don't like Nvidia but the 4060 is so great for saving money! I hope more cards like this come out with 75W TDP ! But I always love KINGPIN's work! Big RESPECT❤ 👍
Huge thanx to GN for stopping by the new lab, it was a blast to hang out with Steve and his crew! Also I truly appreciate the support and interest that the gamers nexus fans have given me over the years with the cards and other HW I have been involved with. THANK YOU guys!
Now only one's as good as them left are all team red. Sapphire gets the most recognition but also xfx and powercolor. Most of the talent from EVGA is gone though, they won't come back.
I never had any luck with EVGA but both the cards I had from them started to fail with getting artifacting from memory errors around a month after the warranty was up. Went back to ATI/AMD at that point and have never had a card die and with Nvidia being what they are now I just don't see myself ever going back. I probably would have tried an EVGA AMD card though if they moved that direction instead of shuttering.
While I have moved on, I do still miss EVGA. I bought a 3080 FTW3 Ultra second hand back in 2021 at the peak of the GPU craze. Then earlier this year, my GPU fried itself. I was so sad cause I wasn't planning on shelling out the $$ to upgrade to something better or even equivalent for at least another generation or two. So I decided on a whim to reach out to EVGA support, even though I was not the original purchaser, didn't have the original receipt and was quite possibly outside of the 3 year warranty. To my surprise, EVGA didn't care about any of that stuff and RMA'd my 3080, saving me hundreds. It was seriously the best customer service experience that I've ever had in my life. Ya just don't see that all too often.
As a kid I once had a cup spill all over my old 300x series card. I sent an RMA and they honored the lifetime warranty the card carried even though it was my error. I religiously bought EVGA during the lifetime of the company because of that. Treat consumers right, get paid.
I mean any good company true to their heart and passion will take in defective product so they can see what went wrong and can they fix it. It doesn't matter if they are not making GPU right now, the information they get from the defect can still be used on other product and even though they are not making GPU anymore nothing say they could make a comeback in the future. For GPUs EVGA was/is by far the best company. In the laptop market Framework would take the W.

Missed this guys presence in the game. Glad to hear PNY gave him to space to do what he does. Looking forwards to seeing what enthusiast craziness they can make together.
My first gpu was pny and actually scored 1ste in timespy in the world with it and it was amazingly solid, can't wait to see more and what Kingpin does with it, all the best
@AllAboutKingpin Now that 50-series is coming closer, I really hope you guys make a comeback to the GPU market. Still running the 3090 from EVGA, no other supplier caught my eye in 40-series. If a Kingping card comes out, will definitely be in the market for it!
I've always kind of overlooked PNY, but Kingpin has earned enough respect over the years that I'll consider them (after detailed reviews, of course) if he's willing to work with them.
So I still have my EVGA 3090 ftw3 ultra hybrid as a backup gpu thanks to their RMA and customer support dedication. Sure the card made a loud pop during a normal gaming session and gave me the red lights of death, but I called them and they said “no problem, send it in”. I have a brand new card in less than 2 weeks. So what did I do next? I bought a 1600 watt psu from them which now powers my current rig with a strix 4090 OC LC because EVGA proved to me they stand behind their products. If EVGA was still producing cards I wouldn’t have that Asus rig in my case.
I literaly can watch endless hours of Steve and Vince talking about hardware and overclock… Have been here with the channel since 10k …. This is by far the best duo you could find on youtube, from which you can learn something. In my experience all the "real McCoys" are like that. It's the "good but not exceptional" guys with a chip on their shoulder that resort to arrogance and/or chest pounding.
hell yea, great to see Kingpin back at it playing with graphics cards again. As for PNY, I cant comment, I've never used one, was always EVGA until the 40 series.
This makes me so happy to see Kingpin back in action with a new card possibly on the horizon. I have 2 grand burning a hole in my pocket to buy the first one he releases. Heck I would love to buy one of the ones on his test bench that he's worked on to just to get an autographed one!
We don't like the CEO behind EVGA. He's apparently well known to abuse employees, scream at them constantly, sometimes even pouring hot tea on their laps. We love EVGA quality and their respect for the customers.
I've only ever owned 1 PNY card, a 1650 Super SFX. It was a real work horse that I never had any issues with. And much quieter than I ever expected a SFX single fan card to be (but not silent obviously). It's so solid that I never think about it. And honestly I think that's high praise
If KP is involved and has final say like he wants, we're in for a real treat. I've bought every top-end card he's made since the beginning. Good luck, KP!
PNY is slept on, they're the only cards I've run besides EVGA for years! I believe they(PNY)exclusively build the Quadros? I'm no expert, just an enthusiast who builds, and could be wrong.
they were the only AIB that are given licensed by nvidia to make Quadro. something to do with they were the only one end up passing the qualification/certification test by nvidia to make their professional grade card.
@@JaykeBlayde If it's better than an FE it will be more expensive than an FE. Board partners absolutely hate the FE because it makes them look bad no matter what they do. Nvidia is competing against it's partners.
EVGA sold every KingPin card faster than any GPU in the Market. I've bought a few of them and would again. Totally top notch GPU's. Can't wait to see what's coming. Happy to hear that it may happen, cheers!
Great move by PNY if this collaboration happens. Although many of us won't buy the very best version of a graphics card, we like to see how far in limits a manufacturer can take a card. Knowing that PNY is pushing the highest limits has a trickle effect on the lower models for us fans.
I'm for sure getting one of the solder mats to use for my modeling/painting so I can just slap it on top of my desk to protect my mouse mat and desktop

I have a PNY 4080 Super. I flashed its BIOS to unlock the power limit, and it performs like a champ. I'm happy with my purchase. It was the only card available at MSRP.
I'm still in love with RoboClocker. Would love to get my head around some of the math to get a better idea of how much LN2 is needed based on different temp targets, then hopefully build my own version.
@@GamersNexus Agreed! It got me interested in cooling and ever since I've been slowly exploring thermal dynamics. At this point my goal is enough of an understanding to know what it would take to run at warmer temps for longer periods of time, that a LN2 generator could keep up with. Then pair that with the Elmor Labs design from Computex 2019 to make it easier to manage condensation.
Hopefully Kingpin can help PNY step up and become a major player in the consumer / OC space with GPUs. I'm optimistic. Always super enjoy the videos where you catch up with Kingping. Keep it up GN.

I have an old GTX 660 PNY XLR8 card, thanks for showing us Kingpin, interesting projects and nice E moto superbike / dirt bikes. Ill get a 5080 later this year, will look out for a Kingpin edition.
Love the kingpin brand, the idea and concept of understanding one’s equipment fully to maximize performance is a personal goal. I’ve never owned kingpin cards or boards but someday I hope to.
PNY is pretty dope, tbh.
Never had any issues with them. I am really excited what they might come up with.
Great news. ❤️
Yeah their cooler on 4070 Ti - 4090 is pretty impressive there is no vapor chamber but its cold and quiet even without one... pretty impressive.
Kingpin back working on extreme overclocked cards is a good thing, in so many ways. This is great and exciting news.
This was such a great video, this guy is so chill while at the same time radiating expertise and enthusiasm. Can't wait to see new Kingpin products!
@AllAboutKingpin Now that 50-series is coming closer, I really hope you guys make a comeback to the GPU market. Still running the 3090 from EVGA, no other supplier caught my eye in 40-series.
If a Kingping card comes out, will definitely be in the market for it!
looks more like a motorcycle repair shop, than a GPU lab 😆
looking forward to their future releases though!
Thank you EVGA for all the amazing quality GPUs you provided for your customers.
Vince (Kingpin) reminds me of Tim the tool man Taylor, "I am going to give it more POWERRR!" Awesome video, Thanks.
I remember 9 years ago my dream was to own a GTX780ti KingPin. that card was a killer!
evga my beloved :(
Legends don't die, they reborn - or in Vince's case, rebrands himself. Welcome back, now with more freedom than ever. We missed you!
I literaly can watch endless hours of Steve and Vince talking about hardware and overclock…
Have been here with the channel since 10k …. This is by far the best duo you could find on youtube, from which you can learn something.
I so hope we go back to these late streams OC, GPU/CPU - even if it is just talks about new arch , etc.
we need those streams back @Gamersnexus!!!
Until my current MSI 3090, all my cards were EVGA. My previous EVGA card lives on to this day in a workstation build, 8 years old and still going
I love seeing yall together Kingpin and GN. I’m buying the next card he’s involved with.
*Steve enters the studio like it is his father's*
Seconds later
Kingpin: welcome
"no, i am your father..."
So if people here keep referring to Steve as "Tech Jesus", does that make KINGPIN "Tech God"? Well, that does appear to be quite accurate.
kingpin might be one of those rare people who exudes confidence, aware of his own skills, and yet still sound pretty down to earth
back to you, Steve
In my experience all the "real McCoys" are like that. It's the "good but not exceptional" guys with a chip on their shoulder that resort to arrogance and/or chest pounding.
Great to see Kingpin. Just always seem to be a genuinely down to earth good guy who wants products to work as intended. Cheers
Still have my 980 KINGPIN,
Awesome to see his lab is just decked out in GN gear. Good work, boys.
Still proudly rocking my EVGA 1080ti ftw3
Same.
There aren't many video cards worthy of the title "a classic" but that's one of them
Same. And that explains everything about the reputation EVGA achieved.
Me too, with an Intel 6700k CPU
@@krjal3038 facts
EVGA should've released Intel Arc GPUs
100% or could’ve switched to AMD , those would’ve been some sick gpus
That would have been amazing, or if the EVGA gpu division just made their own company to work with Intel.
afaik EVGA is just overall burned out making GPUs. Not a single hint anywhere that they are intrested in any other partner.
That would be a BIG game changer
@@Haiburidu it won't. just look what happen with XFX before.
Every evga is a treasure now
I have (2x) 750's, a 760, a 970, a 1060, a 1660, and a 2070.
All EVGA, never to leave my possession.
Facts
Never gonna sell my evga 3070
Ive blown quite a few up XOC fitting way to go
EVGA cards must be preserved ♥️ no matter how old model parts there are ♥️👌
hell yea, great to see Kingpin back at it playing with graphics cards again.
We love EVGA
Loved*
We don't like the CEO behind EVGA. He's apparently well known to abuse employees, scream at them constantly, sometimes even pouring hot tea on their laps.
We love EVGA quality and their respect for the customers.
Long live EVGA
@@Appri wtf are u saying? got any proof of that?
Kingpin*
I'm stoked for a KingPin/PNY product!
It's nice to see Vince again on the channel ❤
Can't wait to see those new KingPin cards even they are definitely out of my budget 😅
I've only ever owned 1 PNY card, a 1650 Super SFX. It was a real work horse that I never had any issues with. And much quieter than I ever expected a SFX single fan card to be (but not silent obviously). It's so solid that I never think about it. And honestly I think that's high praise
The man - the LEGEND. Exciting to see him rockin'.
RIP. It would be cool if they tried to make laptops again, their design with the GTX 1070 in it was really promising back then.
Cheers GN for the great video as always
Best of luck to ya Kingpin!
Great to see that Kingpin might be making a come back. Would love to get my hands on a Kingpin 5090.
After all these years I actually seen the guy for the first time on a video, down to earth too I like it.
If KP is involved and has final say like he wants, we're in for a real treat. I've bought every top-end card he's made since the beginning. Good luck, KP!
So, I did a graduate degree in physics...that was the first time someone has ACTUALLY explained what metrology was.
PNY is slept on, they're the only cards I've run besides EVGA for years! I believe they(PNY)exclusively build the Quadros? I'm no expert, just an enthusiast who builds, and could be wrong.
I dunno if PNY still does makes the Quadro cards, but i can confirm they made the Pascal and Turning ones.
@@f0x4nn3they do. And will be involved in the server Blackwell stuff.
they were the only AIB that are given licensed by nvidia to make Quadro. something to do with they were the only one end up passing the qualification/certification test by nvidia to make their professional grade card.
PNY has the worst power phases and only 450 watts limit.
@@cemsengul16 only because they design their cards to be ran within NVIDIA spec. If they make a kingpin card that will change
I still can’t believe EVGA is gone.😢
well it's not. Only GPU division. They still make great PSUs.
PNY is a very good gpu im happy Kingpin started a partnership with them
I ain’t even into overclocking and this guy makes me wanna watch him due to his attitude and energy
WELCOME BACK, COMMANDER (in XCom spokesman voice)
WELCOME BACK KINGPIN !!!!
PNY is about to be the best selling cards real fast
I'm in the market for 4070 Super. Currently the PNY model is not as good as FE. Maybe when there's a KingPin version of products be better.
Not likely. PNY is garbage. It's going to take a lot to boost their sales and I don't think the Kingpin name is going to do it.
Glad to see KINGPIN is still in the game, hope they succeed in their future endeavors!
The king has returned!
Man, ive never had much interest about PNY personally but after seeing this video and seeing how passionate mr.kingping is with his craft, i'm very interested to see his new rtx 50 series cards, especially a rtx 5090 pny kingping max OC. Hopefully he can get it done. You can tell this is his passion man and there is nothing more refreshing knowing that if I buy a pny kingping card in the future, im supporting this dude and his vision on enthusiast level gpus
All the best kingping, you have my support.
I have a PNY 4080 Super. I flashed its BIOS to unlock the power limit, and it performs like a champ. I'm happy with my purchase. It was the only card available at MSRP.
If PNY snatches up Kingpin, that is truly a zero to hero moment and I will make the switch to them in a heartbeat.
I'm still in love with RoboClocker. Would love to get my head around some of the math to get a better idea of how much LN2 is needed based on different temp targets, then hopefully build my own version.
One of the coolest engineering projects we've seen!
He would do the Most Good for the world if he switched teams to pull up whoever the underdog is at the time. But, that's not gonna happen.
7:49 He's not an RGB 'FAN'
Kingpin seems like a cool guy and their professional respect for each other is only outshined by their obvious friendship. Great video Steve!!!
Hopefully Kingpin can help PNY step up and become a major player in the consumer / OC space with GPUs.
I'm optimistic.
Always super enjoy the videos where you catch up with Kingping. Keep it up GN.
