Akhtala was actually build by Armenians as an Armenian Apostolic Church and later converted to Georgian church when an Armenian ruler himself converted to it. (According to Wikipedia) I dont know where the misinformation came, but still a great video 😊❤
Hi, I am planning to do this same tour next week. When coming back from Armenia to Georgia, again complete passport control formalities is done ? I am entering Georgia on an Indian passport holding a valid US Visa.
This is a great question. And yes, you have to complete passport control both ways when going through this tour. As for the time it will take with your passport, it just depends on how busy the border is on a given day or month? The guides do very good job navigating you through it all before you go through it, but it is my understanding that sometimes it can take awhile and other times, as in our case, it goes pretty quickly. I hope that helps.
the church akhtala is georgian not armenian,it is build by georgian(ivane-l mxargrdzeli)🥰.on the walls you will see georgian writings and georgian frescoes on which Georgian saints are painted.
