Giant Man: The End of Marvel Legends HasLabs?

- We're entering the final days to fund Giant Man and we've got some thoughts about it. Can Hasbro pull this off or will history repeat itself with another failed project? Could this be the last Marvel Legends HasLab?
Also, how are we feeling about Dakota's pirate mustache?
And if all else fails we can hope Diamond Selcet makes a Giant Man.

I think I would too. It's nice that the Haslab is really posable but I don't really need it to be that much. I just got the Select Rhino not long ago and he's pretty awesome. I think they do a really good job on the bigger figures that don't have to be super dynamic.
Select revealed a Archangel coming out next year and guess what legends is most likely gonna redo theirs too just like they did with blade when select made theirs. I think select should pull a hasbro and release their giant man when this doesn’t fund
I'm pretty sure Hasbro has a a feather wing angel coming. At least I think that was the Displaying Model Behavior leak.
Just to preface this; I hope that the people who want this figure, are able to get it. Now, targeting Hasbro, the team said, "We learned from Engine of Vengeance, and we decided not to lock figures behind tiers." I have beef with this, because if they truly wanted to show people they learned and are going forward in good faith, they either would have shown classic Wasp/Yellow Jacket... or they would've made an announcement/reveal of either one of the tiers or the EOV with Robbie Reyes Ghostrider as a show of good faith. I don't believe for a second that they learned from the EOV haslab, I think they realized that they left money on the table and wasted mold money, so it wouldn't be a good financial decision to include figures in this year's Marvel Legends Haslab. Again, personal opinion and yes, I do love Marvel Legends, but with all of the money Hasbro makes, would it really be such a bad idea to take some notes from when ToyBiz did Marvel Legends?
Just to clarify, I meant separate releases of the EOV tier figures or the EOV itself with Ghostrider priced at like $100 or something, as a way to show good faith. Granted, I do believe they will end up making the EOV because it'd be easy money for them and realistically, the Classified team is getting ready to release (supposedly) retail vehicles.
Yeah they really didn't have anything to help them carry the hype at all. White antenna and a few sets of eyes isn't really doing it for anyone. Showing figures, even digital renders of wasp and yellow jacket would have got people much more excited and probably carried him to at least a base funding.

I've been saying for a while, and it kinda relates to what you two said, but they should do away with the goal/crowdfunding aspect of Haslab and instead introduce a "made-to-order" kinda Haslab set-up. Essentially, give people like a month to pre-order this large scale item, at the end of that month send the numbers to the factory and that is all that is made of that item. Sure, it may not make them the kind of money they want, but they at least wouldn't be wasting design and mold funding on projects that aren't reaching the "goal."
That's very true. We'll never know, but i would like to know how much is spent on the tooling and where the actual break even point would be. Because it's not 10,000 backers. That's there, this profit is fat enough for us to spend our time on, and round up to the nearest thousand.

Janet had so many costumes over the years that this haslab could have some great variations that collectors would have loved.
They could almost do a "hall of armor" wasp and put out a bunch of Wasps in different costumes.
the fact that there is no classic avengers wave around this giant man makes no sense nor the lack of marketing after the reveal... so maybe they are planning a smaller giant man (deluxe) with wasp and yellow jacket .... they teased them during NYCC interviews
I feel like if they put out a smaller Giant Man now it would upset a lot of people. if they did it would have to be a non classic costume. and i feel like there are plenty of classic avengers that were out pretty close. we just got a first appearance Ironman and I'm sure a gold painted version isn't far behind, we just got 20th Cap, Iron Man, and Hulk. Not much more to do for a classic Hawkeye or Black Widow. Really the only other classic Avenger missing is Wasp and maybe an updated Thor.
My first thought was also that the figure is just too big for Giant-Man. Somewhere between 12 and 18 inches would scale better for display and match more how he was typically drawn in the old Avengers comics. I also feel like the smiling face and the snarling face are too cartoonish and don't really fit how I think of Hank Pym as Giant-Man.
As for tier unlocks, I have no desire for a Skrull or Zombie head for the figure. I would have much rather seen an unmasked head and maybe a helmeted head to quasi-emulate the Giant Man look of the late 90's. If they were going to pack in figures, this would have been the perfect place to include the Dr. Pym figure (which ended up in the WCA set) and a Yellowjacket figure to make it the ultimate Hank Pym set.
Honestly, with so many negatives I'm leaning towards passing on this figure and just chasing down the Toy Biz Giant-man which I think would actually look better in my collection.
As for future HasLabs, I would be very interested in a classic Avengers Quinjet which could probably clock in at 24" x 18" x 12" and still be relatively to scale.
yeah if they are going for the classic Avengers look I feel like Hulk might be up to Giant Man's waist or so. I think that would have been the best way to sell a ton of him but they thought that since we wanted a huge Galactus and Sentinel we'd also want an enormous Giant Man. I guess we'll see in 6 days if enough people do.
It's definitely weird they didn't announce a classic wasp around the time this was announced. I figured part of the appeal of this is getting the original 5 Avengers. Which as far as we are aware, they're not making wasp any time soon. So you're not gonna get that classic team that this haslab appears to be built around nostalgia for.
I agree with your point on the pay wall, but I think replacing the zombie face and alternate head with wasp would have been a better idea. Just have them as a set, even if it makes it 250. It's better at least than a zombie face that isn't the comic version people might have wanted. Yellowjacket doesnt need to be included though. And it's not like they won't make other wasps even if she's in the haslab. They announced luke in that failed rancor haslab and then made him a regular release like a year after
It sounds like from other interviews that the Hasbro team is planning to do a classic pointy head wasp. I agree the zombie head is pretty disappointing. It makes sense to do with the other zombies they've done but I can't imagine too many people who even really love that display wanting a Haslab for it. Maybe we'll see some customizers make more comic accurate looks.
Like you said, announcing her would have helped instead of people interviewing them towards the end of the campaign. Especially since this year is supposed to be the big anniversary year, announcing it later seems kinda pointless.
For other haslabs, the only other thing I can think of realistically is a classic sentinel. They made a modern one, so they could make a 90s Jim Lee one, or whatever design that toybiz baf was for a haslab. Sentinels at least they could sell and if it has the new improved articulation giant man has, I could see it selling. Idk what else though
That would be cool. I really hope they make some sentinels in the 12 inch size. I feel like that's a little more realistic to army build.

I mean people have the right to vote with their wallet, but last year they were mad desirable figures were tied to the haslab and high price so it not funding those figures are gone. Now it's at a reasonable price the same price the old baf goes for on the after market.
Yeah it seems like if you have the space and the funds, this is a great offering and I'm surprised it's not already funded.
Jordan, I think collectors like you are part of the problem. If you want Giant-Man, if you've wanted him all along, then why are you waiting until the zero hour to back the HasLab? Backing it a month ago puts you at zero risk and zero obligation, but all the collectors like you who wait until the end are killing enthusiasm for the project for no reason. If someone is on the fence and truly can't decide until the deadline forces them to decide, then I get it. But why is there always a surge at the end of a HasLab? I don't believe that all those inevitable backers were on the fence. I think a lot of them are like you, collectors who know they are going to back it, but wait because... well, for no reason that I can understand or imagine. Why if the point of waiting if you know you're going to back the HasLab? All that does is kill momentum for the campaign. All that does in camouflage interest in the HasLab.
I think Hasbro did their own job on stopping momentum. They had plenty of easy opportunities to build hype that wouldn't have cost them a dime and decided not to. Why is our job as collectors to help them with their hype train? I (Dakota) say wait till the last minute and make em sweat. Is it really going to get anyone that was on the fence off the fence if Jordan or anyone had backed it day one. I doubt it would have the grad effects you might think. If it was a slam dunk, it would have funded regardless.
Hasbro backed themselves into a corner by adding more to past campaigns that were struggling. That's been the trend, it's reasonable for people to want and expect it now. If Hasbro wanted, they could close the door to that and say "this is it, we're not adding anything else." Hasbro is ultimately responsible for driving interest and momentum in the campaign, and I think they could be doing more. The rest of Legends seems to be distracting more than helping right now.
I don't get it, his name is Giant Man and people are complaining about him being too big?! Everyone complained when they locked figures behind the EoV Haslab. They don't do it this year and everyone complains that there is no figures?? They make it cheap and extremely affordable and now people are saying it should be even cheaper. C'mon man, the price is fair and justifies why there's no figures. I agree the tiers could have been better. But I backed Day 1, if it funds it'll be by a hair. Hasbro imo actually tried and people just want every excuse to not back it and for it to fail.
I 100% agree with it not having figures come with it. I love that they did that. I do think it's too big though. I just don't think it's going to display that well and even seeing it displayed at NYCC it didn't do much to help that worry for me. I love having a huge Galactus and he can be the center point of that display. I would rather my Avengers display be of the team and not a bunch of figures around Giant Man. I do hope it gets funded because I really think this is Hasbro listening to the fans.
To some extent yes, while I would have liked to seen a classic Wasp with this, because let's face it Wasp has had SOOO MANY LOOKS in the comics I would have been okay with ONE of those looks being locked behind a Haslab but alas that isn't the case and is a moot point. I backed him, the price is fair, figure looks good, wish we could have seen him being posed better and get demonstrations on the articulation and the face swapping gimmick.
I think he's too big. Whereas Galactus is a solo piece and Sentinel could be a solo figure too, but you could also pair him with fighting the Xmen.
For Giant Man, he relies on being displayed with the Avengers. He isn't going to have 6" figures climbing around on him. And now with him being 24", I've gotta take a shelf to make him fit which makes melt real estate smaller, yet again, for a third time.

I don't think the complaining was locking figure behind the EOV, It's the figures they did it with. Mephisto and Goblin Queen are high on peoples want lists, Robbie Reyes not so much.
I think maybe an unmasked head with a cowl accessory piece might have sealed the deal rather than the Zombie faceplate. Is it too large? Maybe - but I backed it on day two and really hope a miracle happens and it funds. I agree with you though, some companion figure sneak peeks also would have helped.
Personally Dakota I am loving the pirate stache! But I am totally biased.

I think they really hurt their momentum by not actually showing the wasp and other companion figures. It wouldn't have cost them any more money on the Haslab but would have hyped people up a lot more.
I feel like the people who complain like this haven’t ever picked up a comic book especially not one with giant man in it, otherwise you’d know he can’t take off his mask at that size

If they had not listened to the entitled crybabies or some stupid in office no mainline and offered classic YJ and Wasp, GM and the 5 heads for $250 it would have backed in the first week and probably done another 1-3K over a month. Mainline paywall figures sell. It's a good main offering but the tiers are trash. Hasbro should put mainline figs in the lab payway. If people have to pay an extra $100 or $200 for a Wasp they'll do it, they'll get that figure. It's tiers that sell and it's tiers with rare and one offs never to be made again mainline that sell the most and not only get people on the fence but to open their wallets.
I feel like I half agree with you. I think having wasp as a tier would have been a win win for everyone. The HasLab comes with a 6 inch figure people want but it's also Wasp who has a new costume every story so they can reuse the same mold and give a new costume. People don't really miss out but they get the Haslab version if they want it.
They should just go smaller and release a multipack of "impossible for retail" figures like Mandarin, Mephisto, Goblin Queen, etc. instead of one giant thing.
I think that would be a really cool idea too. Add in some cooler accessories like flame effects or small dio type stuff.

@@Vintage-Bob Mephisto is essentially the devil and Mandarin (the classic version we all want) is basically a Fu-Manchu stereotype of East Asians. Not exactly things Walmart wants on their toy shelves or that the average soccer mom wants to buy for Little Johnny.
Same reason they had to massively tone down the Nazi themes to get Red Skull figures to market.

What I get pissed at is having to buy crap in their Hasbro site for the same price in the store. And get charged for shipping. That charge is included when you buy the product.
Yeah I heard an interview where I think it was Ryan talking about how they have to factor in the cost of shipping Giant Man maybe he means from the factory to their facility but he better not mean getting it to collectors hands because the collectors are paying that.
The fact that Hasbro admitted the tiers are baked into the price shot them in the foot. It means that if it funds at only the base level, you're paying for stuff that you aren't getting. Epic failure. As if 10,000 giant man's "aren't enough to get an extra head and faceplates" 🤦♂️
I agree, I'd almost rather they just stop doing the tiers, say how many backers they want to have it fully unlocked and that be that. The stretch goals might be fun if they blow a target out of the water but otherwise don't cheapen the product if people only want 10K of them.
I once had an Aphrodite IX statue that I absolutely loved. The only problem was that I had nowhere to display it. So, it sat packed in the box it came in on my closet floor for years until I finally sold it on eBay. Guess what’s standing in that same spot on my closet floor now? The HasLab Sentinel. That’s why I passed on Galactus. That’s why I’ll likely pass on Giant Man, especially since the Toy Biz BAF is still one of my favorite figures in my collection. That’s why I wish Hasbro had included a classic Wasp and/or Yellowjacket as tiers. Charge me $225 for one or $250 for both. I’m not looking for a free lunch. Give my ID some ammunition, because right now, my Super Ego is kicking his ass and my Ego is sitting in the front row with a bowl of popcorn.
I feel like that's how a lot of people will end up having to display their Haslabs especially if they collect multiple lines. There's only so much room for giant figures, ships or tanks before even the most impressive collection room is overrun.
Also, when it becomes clear it won't get the tiers, I suspect some people will cancel orders.
I agree. I feel like that's a little where I'm at. I don't see it fully getting unlocked and at that point Hasbro is trying to sell a cheaper product for the same price. I think I deep down also know I don't really need or want it so maybe that's just my excuse so I still feel like i was going to back it.
@@thestrongcollectors I didn't order mainly because he's just too big. He's rarely been shown in the comics larger than 12' tall, so a 12" figure would scale better. He just looks too big to scale with the 6" Avengers figures. And the tiers were pathetic. It just felt like a money grab.
They really set it up to look like it would be an easy slam dunk but I think the more people looked at it the less they really liked it.
I strongly doubt it will make any tiers. It might not even make the 10k base goal, it's going to make that and an extra 2k to get the first tier. Even if it somehow managed that, there's almost zero chance it will reach 14k for the final tier unlock.
@@bandoogiemanz I don't see it funding. It's averaging 76 per day now for the past week and that's with the spike from the convention. It's at 6,263 orders with 5 days, 9 hrs to go. It needs to average 705 orders per day. If the average number of orders from the past week doubles (unlikely) for the next 3 days, that will bring the grand total to 6,719. That would leave it 3,281 orders short and it would need a surge of 1,640 orders each day for the last 2 days. Even if the average orders per day TRIPLED to 228 orders per day for the next 4 days, it still only hits 7,175 orders which means it needs to hit 1,412 orders each day for the last two days which is virtually impossible. The numbers are against it, strongly, and the excitement is just not there. It's tracking far closer to Engine of Vengeance than Galactus or the Sentinel. I'm thinking that if it does squeak by and fund, it'll be because Hasbro fudges the numbers just to not have a second massive failure in a row.
I do not have a card to play in this game, so whatever I may spout out should be taken with a shaker of salt. GM is too big for this collector, I do not have the real estate available to display it. Furthermore, from the comics I have read which include this variant of GM, the character isn't tall enough to see a Sentinel eye-to-eye. The Haslab variant of GM could have been 16 inches, and include action figures as tiers. For $200.
Regarding the GM's tiers. If I have mentioned the following on your site before, I apologize. Hasbro ML deceptively cherry-picked the: "no action figures behind a firewall". No one ever said such a thing. The true statement is; "No one wants a needed action figure behind a paywall of an unwanted Haslab". The majority of ML collectors need a Mephisto, but very few wanted the EoV to get it.
I think that's the best way it can be put. The EOV probably speaks to too small of a fan base but Mephisto is wanted by so many. I think a small Haslab of Mephisto would fund. Just spit balling here but maybe $150 for him, a big throne, fire effects and some little demons. $150 might be a little high but it's Hasbro so that's probably what they would try to do.
@@thestrongcollectors WITHOUT A DOUBT something like your Mephisto idea would work. I even thought of another one while reading your idea: Mole Man with Giganto and a small troop of Moloids. It wouldn't be as popular as Mephisto, but I like where our thinking is going on Haslabs.
I think that would be so fun to get a Mole Man display like that. I don't really love the FF so I'm not sure if I'd back it but I want it to get made.
@@thestrongcollectors I see your point - Mephisto is more "universal" while MM is pretty specific. Yet an Annihlus with some negative zone demons might be a contender
I'd probably be in on that too. Even though I've never read a single book with him in it, I still think he looks cool.
First, Galactus was much better and had greater appeal than Giant Man. It also had better tiers. Even at double price, it funded easily. As far as Giant Man, would have preferred him smaller at 15 inches, with no sideway finger articulation, so the price would remain at $200 with a 6 inch Giant Man included in the base offering and a growing effect.
I would have been in if that was the case too.
I'm on the fence with giant man. I want him and $200 isn't a terrible price. Haslab has my hiss tank and dragonfly money but I don't have a hiss tank or dragonfly. I'm supposed to give them another $200 and just wait patiently?
I've thought the same thing. I think it's a little wild that they can hold on to (I don't remember exactly what those others cost) almost $1k of your money and still probably won't be long until they show something else and ask for more while you're waiting.
There's already several perfectly fine options for a Giant Man Legend available, there was no need for another and especially not as a premium crowd funded option. A Celestial would have worked, maybe a Red Ronin set or an update of Fin Fang Foom, but another Hank Pym incarnation? naaaaaaah.
i think that's how a lot of people feel. The Toybiz Giant man is one of most peoples number 1 fav bafs made. To update him could make sense but not at a crowd funding level maybe.
If Hasbro does a FFF he has to be super articulated. Height is less important IMO. I would make him 16-24 inches long with a 12 inch wingspan.
Yeah I'm not sure they're ready to invest in the new tooling it would take to make Foom great.
I reckon it’ll fund, but then all those collectors who wanted more than one will drop out their multiples when the other face/heads aren’t unlocked.

That's a great point. I've heard quite a few people say they got 3 to display with all the heads but yeah, they'll have to lower their order if the stretch goals aren't met.
I was considering backing it only because of the zombie head but it looks like I’m gonna save some money for Christmas.
I think you're the first to comment about really liking the zombie head. I hope if he gets backed you get that head but idk. It's not looking good that anyone will get Giant Man.

I think that's where I'm at with this HasLab. I just don't see being able to display him as well and the ToyBiz version. He'd become the focal point and that's not really what I'm going for.
Same company produces transformers titan class about a ame size with tons of more moving pieces without haslabs no reason the couldn't do same make pulse and fan channel exclussive
Yeah I feel like transformers is an interesting comparison because they are so much more intricate. It seems like Marvel Legends should be so much more cheap.
I believe it was Shartimus' interview just yesterday where they said they already have 2024 done and they're getting to work on 2025. So they could totally show a digital rendering of these companion figures they decided to not include as tiers. I wonder if they will?....
Or heck even just say it. stop this "the door is open for us to do wasp", "maybe we'll see wasp come out soon". Maybe if you just said so people would be more ok with it coming. Maybe show and people would have already backed it. The only reason for the wishy washy is it seems like if Giant Man doesn't get funded they can just not make wasp.
@@thestrongcollectorsit's so offputting and annoying when people communicate like this. Idk if it's Hasbro, or Disney, or just companies of a certain size but it's the same with SW Black Series team. Very few things need to be top secret special surprise. I think it would pay off more with fans to just say what you're working on rather than weird marketing non-information.

Big businesses try to cut costs every quarter, so to say they shouldn’t be doing crowdfunding is silly.
They saw a way to put the cost on the consumer and ran with it.
If this doesn’t get funded they need to introduce the idea of letting the fans pick. Do three choices and let the fans pick which one is most awesome.
Also they haven’t made this one fun in my opinion, atm more ppl are checking in daily to see if it’s gonna fail, where as previous ones they were checking to see what’s the next big surprise added on to this.
There’s no hype for this, it’s flat, now if 5k decides on last day, then they are safe, but it’s looking less likely by the day they’ll happen.
Remember this figure costs around 32$ to make, charging us 200$ for the cost and they are adding face plates as the tiers ??

I also think it would have been more fun to have an interchangeable Giant man, who can be set to different heights, that way you can cross over Bill foster, Scott Lang and Hank as the ultimate height.
That would be an interesting way to do the next HasLab. Put out a vote to the fans. I feel like they would have to do a pretty long wait between the votes and then the actual reveal so that they have an in hand look at what the fans choose.
They sure would have to get the time scale right, maybe at end of summer they reveal the choices, Halloween the final answer is revealed and then just after Christmas/ new year they can get the prototype out.
Just a rough schedule.
They definitely need to insert some juice to get it flowing again.
Also are they being too wild with the haslabs? As in off the beaten track, personally can’t say I’m a huge Giant man fan or that my soul burns Ghost rider for that matter

The next Haslab should be another sentinel - for all those ppl that missed out.
I think that would be a great idea. I think it should be smaller and more cartoon accurate. Then it's an army builder, still expensive but easier for most to justify maybe buying 2 or 3.
Giant man should be the size of the mcu Surtur. There they can make more giant men and some smaller sentinels. Mold could be used for other bigger figures as well. As for what figures they should include is a smaller version of this giant man and a wasp only to go with this figure. Remove all those faces.
The 12 inch super adaptoid really faked me out. I thought that would be used for Giant Man and I would have loved that.

I would not want Fin Fang Foom. I'd first want an almost Galactus-sized Watcher, Eternity, Stranger, etc.
I could see a Galactus sized watcher failing hardest out of anything. I've heard a lot of people say Eternity though.
@@thestrongcollectors I think Eternity would be an easier sell because first, he looks so much cooler than the Watcher. Second, the tiers are far easier for Eternity. He can come with a base offering of a classic original costume Dr. Strange, with tiers of a classic Ancient One, original green costume Dormammu, and maybe some Mindless Ones as army builders. Then they can announce a supporting wave of classic Baron Mordo, Nightmare, Asmodeus, and Xandu.
I really hope we get a Baron Mordo this upcoming year. It seems crazy Hasbro hasn't made him yet.
@@thestrongcollectors The fact that I disagree about Watcher demonstrates the wisdom of my suggestion for Hasbro - do a poll! ASK the fans what we want. We may find out that Watcher would be a flop, or perhaps he'd get high enough votes to justify it. But at least both the fans and Hasbro would know. For the life of me I cannot understand why Hasbro doesn't have the smarts to take such a simple step. It's called market research, Hasbro! Look it up! LOL!
5:00 I agree and said the exact same thing. Kinda like when people who have a Spider-Man themed collection and include a hot toy Spider-Man among 6 inch Spider-Man’s it just doesn’t look right to me.
With my Galactus he’s fighting F4 and friends and they’re swarming him top to bottom.
I backed within the first 10 minutes knowing he’s too big and knowing I’ll have him posed taking a knee. Our BAF giant man’s will be fine if it doesn’t fund

Foom has much more versatility for displays. A giant, green space dragon with some flame effects, cloth shorts/trunks, and a classic head would be a nice package deal. For example, you could throw him in a fantasy display like Mythic Legions. Giant Man is more specific and niche, ironically enough. But if Giant Man fails I can almost bet that if Foom is the next one, there will be figure-tier goals and one of them will be The Mandarin.
That sounds about spot on to what I expect from the next HasLab. Like we said though, that could be really hard to display with the area he would take up.
I hope they don't do that, locking Iron Man's MAIN BAD GUY behind a Haslab is stupid. Frfr they should have already made Mandarin by now.
I'm surprised they haven't yet but maybe they would do that as a well you didn't want Giant Man because he didn't have any extra 6 inch figures so now this is what you get.
The reason I think Fin Fang Foom could succeed where the Engine of Vengeance and (possibly) Giant Man failed is that like the Sentinels and Galactus, he’s got that “I’m a Big Freaking Deal” mojo going for him. “Ooohhh…Sentinels! Gigantic mutant running robots! Ooohhh….Galactus! The Devourer of Worlds! Ooohoo…Fin Fang Foom! Alien Dragon!” When they show up, it’s an event. Robbie Reyes and Giant-Man just don’t have that kind of juice.

The size is spot-on. He's GIANT-Man. That's the whole point.
I don't see that being a good size. Being giant just so you can say look, it's a giant figure doesn't make much sense to me. I think Toybiz nailed the size. I don't think people want a Giant Man display to fill in with Avengers. I think they want an Avengers display with a Giant Man that fits.
With that being said though, did you back one or multiple?
But he IS a giant. If making this character big doesn't make sense to you, I don't know what to say -- being able to grow considerably larger than anyone else on the battlefield is his whole m.o.
Most people and myself included who think he's too big would prefer if he was 14-18 inches tall, maybe 20 at most. That's still giant enough compared to all the other figures and would display better.
You have a smaller Giant-Man right there in your display. Why take away the most dynamic aspect of this offering just to mirror what you already have? The larger figure acts as a compliment to what already exists, or the final word on the subject -- anything else is a half-measure at this point.
This character is too big. He could have been half the size for a lot cheaper. If this doesn’t fund, then I’m sure they’ll size him down and we’ll get him… Next year we’ll get the other Avengers and no Giant Man? That’ll suck. I don’t think this Haslab is going to fund.
I would be a little shocked if the made him smaller and put him out. I was thinking about how cool that would be be if this gets funded and then they make a 12 inch one to show the growing power but then I think people would be upset and would have just wanted the 12 inch version. I also think that Hasbro knows if they put out a smaller version of him next year, it gives them less power in the future haslabs because then it might not be the only chance to get that figure. I could however see getting smaller 12 inch sized variations of Giant Man. Like a Bill Foster or non classic suit Giant Man.

We've all got our nitpicks, for me the promotional photos/poses have been so lazy. The nycc poses are literally just him standing there, compared to dwights ig photos of the prototype that make the figure look so poseable and dynamic. dudes needed to SELL the product and not just sitback and hope for the best. Still backing it tho lol but definitely not getting my hopes up.
They did say in an interview that Dwight is able to pose the grey one because it's not painted. The painted prototype was too fragile and the paint would rub off to easily if they tried moving him around. But I do agree. It didn't seem like there was much effort put into the posing of even the other figures. they were all standing on the floor and my biggest worry is Giant Man is too big to display will with normal figures and the way they had them all posed, I think I'm right. Get them on taller flight stands or hanging from the top of the display case.
Somebody at NYCC asked the Hasbro team why they didn’t add a wasp, and Yellowjacket with this Haslab, and they admitted that we are in fact getting both figures in 2024 as single releases. I was there all weekend and heard this with my own ears.
Did they say we are for sure getting them, or did they just make it seem obvious that they planned to do it? All the interviews I've seen they just heavily hint at it. I don't think that's moving the needle for them. It think they should/should have shown the digital renders of the planned figures so people could see them.

@@thestrongcollectors it was reported to another TH-cam channel. A lot of guys are having interviews with the HaS team. I can’t remember the video that I saw but if I’m wrong I do apologize but this person definitely sounded very assured.
Yeah I think I've seen 3 interviews where they talk like it's pretty much a for sure thing but they won't just come out and say it. Which even that I don't think would be enough. Show some digital renders at least. Get the fans excited about what can go with him otherwise I really don't see this crossing the finish line. There's no need for the secrecy of what the figure is going to look like when they're all but confirming it's coming.

I look at Giant Man how I look at voting, some people say voting doesn't matter but if it doesn't matter then you should do it anyway. Backed him yesterday and if he funds he funds, if not then nothing was lost. I hope he funds because this is a fair deal being offered and it shows that they do listen.
As for the future of Haslabs I hope they go smaller or offer full complete teams in one shot. Mephisto could be a great shot as a solo release, I'd say $75 for Mephisto, extra hands, extra head, soft goods and a throne. Or since Haslabs are for "dream projects", I want the Great Lakes Avengers, if they were to do a GLA 5 pack for $150 bucks?! I'd buy two.
I REALLY hope they stop thinking that it's the giant figures that make a Haslab work. It doesn't have to. I would love to see a smaller offering that doesn't take up so much real estate in the collection but is something that you don't expect to see.
@@thestrongcollectors Honestly Haslab is the best place to have figures that either can't be at retail or are a little more taboo like a Goblin Queen, but if they do teams they can at least start with Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers.

It's dead. Yesterday, with 7 days to go, it needed to average 431 orders per day. Today, with 6 days left, it needs to average about 640 per day. Sentinel had 10,000 by Day 3 and Galactus by Day 13. Here we are on Day 39 away and Giant Man barely breaks 6,000. It's tracking almost as badly as Engine of Vengeance. It seems very unlikely that people will be ordering 1,500 per day for the last few days.
Yeah i think there will be a big surge at the end but it's not looking like it will be enough to actually fund.

I hope if they do the Blackbird they don't try to say well it couldn't be a true 1:12 scales so we had to change a bunch of it. I think if they made it big enought to fit 2 xmen I wouldn't really care if anyone could sit in the back because you'll never see them back there.
My wet dream is that hasbro lose the marvel license and someone else like neca, or Diamond select can take marvel legends. Hell, i even prefer Mcfarlane over hasbro.
As long as hasbro and Mattel are away, is good for me.
I would hard pass on that idea. But do you not really care about articulation and prefer sculpt because then yeah, those other brands would do a better job at sculpting but none of them hold a candle to the articulation of Hasbro. Not even close.
@@thestrongcollectors I know they sacrifice articulation but is not like they are statues, besides their sculpt, paint application and price point balance (bang for your buck) specially in marvel select do it for me. I find their jobs oftenly more good looking than hasbro’s ML.

It's at 6,151 right now, so, still a chance it could limp across the 10,000. Now, 6 days left. But the major complaints are still that it's too big, everyone wanted 12" to 14", and that the tiers are 💩!
If they made it that size people would then complain it's too small and not "Giant".
I really didn't even think Giant Man needed to be a HasLab. I was hoping after seeing Super Adaptoid we'd get a Giant Man on that type of body. 12 inches may have been a little too small but really 12-18 i think would have been the sweet spot. Would have needed a little lower price tag for the size difference but really I wouldn't be that mad if it wasn't that much cheaper.
My tallest Figure is a 13" Godzilla, I then go to a 12" King Kong, Zilla, Surter, and Super Adaptoid. From there I go to a 10" Hank Pym Giant Man, a 10" Scott Lang Giant Man and Fin Fang Foom. So I don't really need anything over 12" to 14" tall. I also have between 5,000 and 5,500 total Figures, so I'm already running out of room.

I love to see all the marvel legend hypocrites say they want figures when last year they didn’t want figures behind a HasLab paywall. I think this is one step closer to the end of marvel HasLabs and hopefully the end of the marvel legends line. Nothing is worse then seeing the petulance, hypocrisy of the DOA marvel legends fans complain and cry all the time. If they make figures based on if this HasLab funds it’s still locking them behind a paywall. Those figures should be released weather this funds or not. Movies don’t crowd fund and when people don’t go to the movies the studios lose money. Crowd funding puts the onus on the consumer if a consumer doesn’t want the HasLab then they don’t fund. That’s great business. Marvel legends fans hate marvel legends they won’t buy any HasLab products, it’s great I’m so ready for this line to die. Imagine TH-cam without all the marvel legends fans hate and toxicity what a better place the world would be. #THEENDOFMARVELLEGENDS
Interesting take. I doubt this will stop the line all together but I wouldn't be surprised if 3 fails in a row lead to the end of Marvel Haslabs at least, and I wouldn't really be all that sad to see them go because there's really not another giant figure I'd need. If they switch it up and so something other than a giant figure, I might be more interested.
