I've always found the idea of a toy company worth a billion dollars asking people to crowdfund items as just ridiculous. Especially when Toybiz were putting out that 18 inch movie Spider-Man figure in stores, this was 2004.
18” Spider-Man is cool but it had weird silhouette and proportions looked off. This one looks a little better, but it should still be less than $150. I think it’s expensive because of those articulated hands and swappable face plates.
@@brandofigure its expensive because its Hasbro and Haslab on top of that. There's a reason why 90% of their figures these days end up in Ollies for $8-10.
I think that the transformation translucent piece you talked about would have been a great tier idea. Every time I see crowfunded toys of this size by multi-billion dollar multinational corporations, I'm reminded of the MSRP for the Kenner AT-AT in 1981.
The Transformers Titans for $200 often go on clearance. So they don't sell all copies at $200. The Haslab is to maximize profit and not end up with Giant Man copies going on clearance if it were to be released at retail.
They could simply put them up as a preorder then make the amount that is ordered, made to order, the Titan Omega Supreme and Scorponok sold pretty well
The translucent piece is an interesting idea, I like Ninja’s idea of a 14” or so version, so put together both of your ideas and that would be an awesome swt
The only thing I would add on the TRANSFORMERS subject, is that those titan scale transformers are only sold in about 20 percent of all targets and Walmarts as the other 80 percent are not traited for items like that and do not carry them at all.
My understanding on the Haslabs is also that if they are going to make these products they need them to sell at full price, no sales, no clearance. I have quite a few of them because I'm pretty neutral on the idea of a Haslab, I understand the people against it and I also relate to those that don't mind. While the Titan Transformers are approximately the same size they are less in quality, by a lot. Also, Transformers does have Haslabs and they are not much more expensive than the Titans, but they are niche and Hasbro needs to know they'll sell and not be something that people will wait to get for 70% off. Also, the Titan Transformers, they may be at retail, but I've rarely seen them on a shelf where I could just walk in and pick them up. I think it happened once. And collector resellers are certainly more money hungry than Hasbro. I'm not arguing for it or trying to convince you, just saying this is how I understood it. So the people that are against the Haslab idea, would you pay $200 for this at retail? If the first thing you thought is "I would wait for a sale" then that's your answer to why there is a Haslab formula.
The retail concept for collecting is dead/dying. They could and should have items such as this (oversized and expensive) for sale as exclusives on Hasbro Pulse, not doing crowdfunds for them. The Haslabs should be for dream projects and should be in the $400-$800 range. Instead, Hasbro is half-assing it in a weak middle ground of sorts. Too afraid to go really big and too greedy to do the right thing by it's customers.
@@BikoX They either want or need the guaranteed sales at full price. Putting it up on Pulse still doesn't do that. In addition to dream projects they did say it wouldn't always be a huge ticket item., I was there too. I think your price range for Haslabs is a little high, or perhaps you are. LOL. There is absolutely nothing that I need from Marvel Legends that would cost over $500. I got the Barge, I got Unicorn, I got Snake Mountain, Eternia, and Cats Lair. The Giant Man is fine. I can see a Giant Man at retail or on Pulse, but I don't see THIS Giant Man at retail or on Pulse. I'm not defending Haslabs but go buy Hot Toys if you wanna drop $800 on plastic.
I just found this channel and working my way through the vids! I remember most of the toys (born Scotland ‘79) 80s was my decade! I remember seeing adverts for The Karate Kid toys but I never owned any. Loved me some thundercats and I had a superman that had magnets in so he fell down when you pointed a “kryptonite” ring at him.
When they were talking about the tiers they admitted that the tiers were included in the price so by not having figures it kept the price down. So that means they’ve been getting people to pay for items that they may not get if the tiers don’t make the stretch goals. That’s not right but people have overlooked this admission because the price of the haslab is lower
The problem with the Titan Transformers argument is that Marvel Legends doesn't do gangbusters in Asia like Transformers does. That's the main reason we're able to get the Titans in the first place.
First time encountering your channel, very well and professionally reviewed. I can tell that you did your homework, gave alot of careful thoughts before posting this, unlike some others who just jump the gun with loads of craps. Thumbs up for this calm presentation.
I personally like the Marvel Zombies faceplate. Marvel Zombies was my first introduction to Giant Man as a character, so having that would be awesome. Shame it's not based on the original limited series look with the blank white eyes and the no lips. The Skrull head... ehhh, take it or leave it. I'm not that familiar with Secret Invasion, but I don't remember Giant Man being a skrull. I do agree that the faceplates and skrull head should be included with the base figure and have mini Giant Man/First Appearance Wasp as tier 1. I even read somewhere that tier 2 should have been Ultron-1 or Pymtron (the version of Ultron that was half Ultron, half Hank Pym)
I agree with this not needing to be a crowdfund. That being said I backed it because Ive wanted a Giant Man for my collection for years now! I don't think this is too much for what you're getting in all honesty. If you can't afford 200 for this you may be in the wrong hobby. The tiers definitely could have been better, theres no Wasp or Yellowjacket figure or anything like that. I mean they could have even given a head with no mask. That would have been cool.
I like your idea of the 6-inch figure and translucent piece illustrating his size change. I might go one step further and include a small one inch Ant-Man figure and a second translucent piece to display him going from giant to normal size and from normal size to ant size
Its pretty alright. The Price isn't offensive, the size is alright, a little bigger than I would have wanted but its fine. On the fence about getting it. A 6 inch Giant Man figure as a pack in or stretch goal would have been a good choice and the translucent growing effect would have been super rad. Something I kinda wanted for a stretch goal would have been like a dozen mini Ant-Man and Wasp figurines. We've gotten a tiny Ant-Man and Wasp a time or two, but like a whole bunch of them in different poses and costumes would have been cool and could have gone in various displays collectors would have.
I can see the logic in making one that has to be ordered before they build it. They would be too costly to build in mass only to have the sales possibly not match expectation. Plus I doubt stores would want extra of these figures left sitting around taking up space.
This could have very easily sold at retail for $150 minus the Skrull/zombie heads. That said I think it’s a decent enough HasLab offering, but not a must-have for me.
You've been to retail stores recently? They struggle to move many waves of ML, something this massive would be huge ask for them to carry. The additional shipping weight and box dimensions would be unfavorable.
@@Clay3613 Yes, I have. Hasbro literally has giant $180 Transformers at my Target right now. Not to mention the same store has multiple, huge LEGO sets that sell for more, too.
@@bryant3b29Transformers are far more popular toys than Marvel figures. The Transformers toylines have been running almost constantly since 1984 with very few gap years. It's much easier to convince stores to carry toys that have a proven track record (ditto for LEGO). Also, TFs are a collaboration between two manufacturers (Hasbro and Takara TOMY), so there is less financial risk for Hasbro if a TF doesn't sell as well as they hoped.
If the Marvel team wanted a winning HasLab to tie in with the Avengers 60th anniversary, they should have done a classic Quinjet vehicle with Jarvis as an unlock. Giant Man was their safe choice after the EoV failure.
You're right it was safe, but that's exactly why it was the best thing to do. Going to do an expensive vehicle after the prior HasLab failed that was a vehicle is not a good move. I think this is the right call, something that is an obvious winner, see how it pans out, then they can look into something with vehicles. Marvel collectors aren't like Joe or Star Wars ones, vehicles are not a big part of the line historically or currently... it'd be nice, but not an essential. Locking awesome 6 inch figures behind a HasLab was part of why Engine of Vengeance was such a failure, so this is not a bad idea to do a more scaled-down HasLab to see if they win back over the fans. 200 bucks for a 24 inch figure of a popular, major character with 91 points of articulation is not too bad considering how expensive toys have gotten in the last couple of years.
I love this review and my ears loved it too. Didn’t leave me pissed off but rather educated and empowered with my decision making without the BS. I appreciate the controlled presentation 🤘🏼
I agree with everything you said, Tony! I love the figure, nothing I would buy or collect, but I’m glad it’s being made for those who want it, which may not be enough! I still feel the Ant-Man arrow or even a smaller sized Giant Man and a few accessories would be more desirable and help it sell, but I think the powers that be want money over what customers want, most times!
Yes companies want money. Not weird. How can they please the whiners online anyway? They have awesome figures with the Haslab, people bitch about hostage figures. Now they try to avoid that and keep the price down and nits not good enough either.
I think the price is alright. The ONLY justification I could imagine for this to be a Haslab and those big Transformers to be retail is that they have to pay a license fee for Marvel. But I still think that's a stretch. I actually really like the tiers! As someone who got the Sentinel and Galactus, I like having as many options/parts available. But I do agree he should come with a 6 inch version of himself. And that plastic morphing effect sounds like such a great idea! I'd like them to do that too.
I remember when a TH-camr was talking about speculating what can happen in episode 9 of Star Wars and the ideas were better than the finished product same thing happens here I was hoping for a yellow jackets a wasp and her classic outfit. Yet here we are with two heads that will never come out of Packaging
It started off hot, it's getting about 100 backers a day now. Personally, I don't think he should be bigger than Surter. I would like him about 12" - 14", and be scout $70 - $80. We got a 10" Scott Lang Giant Man a couple years ago that was $40. Also, I have the 10" Hank Pym from the Original Avengers Box set some years ago, so I'm good.
Like I said in the 3POA FB group, I feel like the tiers are kinda uninspired. I understand not wanting to lock figures behind a paywall, but something more, something that represents a character's power set is what I'd personally have as tiers. To add to your idea with the 6 inch Ant Man and the transition effect piece, a tiny Ant Man would've been cool as an accessory for the 6 inch version. I think that's genius, then they could, if they really wanted the zombie and skrull accessories, have that as the final tier kinda like the Master Mold Sentinel or Dr. Doom head for Galactus. The zombie head's kind of an interesting choice as we haven't gotten many if any other Marvel Zombies in Legends form (The What If? Zombies don't count), bit curious if we'll see more if we reach that point.
A 6 inch version of this or maybe a little oversized, like a BAF would have been very appropriate. Especially to show how his power works. The Engine of Vengeance, those tiers were highly wanted characters and characters that were unrelated and appealed to other branches of marvel legends collectors that weren't into the Haslab. What the F was Madelyn Pryor doing on that project? If the tier figures are themed to the actual project it's fine. This should have had a 6 inch version of Giant Man, a Wasp, and I would have loved a Black Goliath. It's not stuck behind a paywall if it's related to the damn thing. I don't recall too much complaining with the Galactus tiers or GI Joe Classified tiers.
This figure didn’t need to be crowd funded and I do think it’s on the high side. However Hank Pym and his various personas is one of my favorite marvel characters of all time. I will probably end up backing this just because it’s the character and one I’ve wanted for a while. Also the tiers are absolute garbage
Giant man 100% could have been sold in stores! You can package it as a build a figure style so you buy it and it comes in 5 pieces that just like the millennium falcon came and you had to put the 2 parts that stick out in the front into it and they don’t come out. You could have packed it in pieces! Torso with head and his 4 limbs
GOOD PRICE!! And you’re right, it should come with an exact 6” version and a clear plastic morphing stand to make it look like he’s morphing. So many people would buy your version of tierdom. 🤩
Some props would have been nice like that split ultron or a crushed car or even if you really wanted that zombie head zombie limbs, with skrull hands coming out of gloves something like a piece of a diorama like toybiz would do they have a whole creative team and they can think of something cool to add to this basic body. Maybe like a building that he was pushed into
I hate crowfunds so much. Especially when big companies do it. I do think the price is reasonable but good luck finding 10K Giant Man fans. I just dont see it hitting 10k even with all the scalpers.
As it stands as of 9/27/2023, it’s going to take at least 200 new backers each day before end of campaign deadline (26 days), just to get the initial offer with no tiers included…😞
The problem is...this isn't really a mechanical engineering 📽 project that needed a HASLAB! The Brand team are just grasping at straws to call a oversized action figure a HASLAB item in order to redeem they're reputation!
It could be that those retail Transformers for $199 probably weren't selling too well. I'd like to see that selling model of making only what has already been sold maybe grocery stores could follow suit so we can have less waste to throw away.
The Titan Class Transformers must be selling quite well, since they just released another one back in May. There is less financial risk with Transformers, because they are produced in collaboration with Takara TOMY, so the cost of manufacturing, design, etc is significantly lower for Hasbro than it is with Marvel Legends.
It would make sense for comic shops to order as many as they want or think they could sell for their stores and ofcourse online retailers like bigbadtoystore and entertainment earth to have them available where they can let them sit much longer than retailers like Walmart or target.
@roger1296 That's not how Hasbro (or most toy companies, for that matter), sell action figures. They only come in pieces if they are included as a "build a figure" accessory. A standalone Giant Man would have to be sold fully assembled, and that would take up far too much space at retail.
@@Rocket1377 You've never looked at the larger sized Jurassic World Dino's? Some assembly necessary. But in this case it would not apply. Target and Walmart will often stock boxes that big. Just look at the Black Box Lego sets.
No, I don't think it NEEDS to be a crowdfund, but these Haslabs have become an event to us toy collectors, and for better or worse all this discourse over them just helps it get more attention.
I personally don’t view it as crowd funding. I look at it as a gauge of interest system to see if they put out a Marvel Legends Galactus for example. Who would actually buy one so it’s not sitting on the shelf being unsold because nobody wants to fork over the money for it. Also I am happy with the Haslab and backed it Day one because I’d like a nice upgrade to my ToyBiz Giant Man and I agree that a 6 Inch Giant Man and a Translucent Transformation effect would have been cool.
I liked your suggestion for unlocks they make sense given the Character's abilities. I would have liked to see a 6" scale Wasp and tiny Wasp packaged as well, or some Ant/giant man accessories packed, like a giant lab coat a fully masked head or the first comics appearance of Ultron.
I don’t give a shit about whether or not its crowdfunded or not. If its a good product and i'm not getting ripped off like the Engine of Vengeance then whatever. Either way its gonna cost that much money. The tiers are not what's selling me, its the Giant Man and i really want. I completely agree we should have gotten that 6inch giant man and the translucent effect.
This just proved to me that the price of haslabs are set to include all the unlocks are factored into the price! So say on the ghost we paid for all of it. 500 was the price and the unlocks where 100% factored for the ghost AND the 4 figures! So if we didn’t get the last 2 figures unlocked , we where still paying for them! So I’ll never back anything unless it already been fully unlocked!
Simply put, Transformers fans spend money, ML fans clutch their pearls and camp out at Ollie's. TF fans also have a history of being comfortable paying for the quality they want, whether it's 3rd Party or improved Takara versions.
Not a fan of the unlocks. What is the point of a "distressed" zombie head when the entire rest of the figure is pristine. Should have included zombie hands, feet or maybe some kind of switch out plates for parts of the costume. Also think the Skrull head is a swing and a miss IF this costume never had a Skrull incarnation. They should have just given the helmeted Antman head as a alt. Honestly not sure what else they could have made for Tiers, maybe some crumbled cars for him to stand on or use as a weapon. am glad they admitted that the "Bonus" tiers were never actually bonus but included in the price right from the start whether the tiers were unlocked or not. Totally agree that this should not be a Haslab and should be on shelves just like the transformers.
I'm willing to bet that they're probably going to add some additional items as an add-on at the end for the backers, similar to what they did with the Ghost Haslab where they said Sabine and Chopper would be available as an add-on purchase for backers.
A nicely repainted ant man and a nicely repainted wasp would’ve been nice. But then Hasbro would use the excuse of “bUt wE thOuGht yoU haTed REpAiNtS¡¿” Yea, we hate them when they hit retail over and over again and when they’re painted poorly. They’ve reused the hulk body so many times, but people were still happy to see the 20th anniversary hulk because it was painted really well. Sure the community would complain about repaints regardless. For a premium priced haslab, I do believe we should be getting newly sculpted, well painted figures that really only make sense if you own the haslab. For example, Morg with Galactus. On its own, Morg would’ve hit the clearance rack just like the fallen one and Terrax. But together with the haslab, not a single person complained. A bad example of this would be how they handled Mephisto. Mephisto would fit in so many different kinds of displays. Morg would really only fit in one. They could’ve caught flack for giving us repaints or giving us nothing. The legends team, because they’re only capable of thinking linearly and not critically, chose to go with the safest option. No nuance in their offer, no creativity, just safe. Its like they are trying to convince us that they’re going back to how they used to do haslabs, but actually are giving us less than they used to. It’s a fine offer I guess, I’m not impressed at all so I’ll be passing.
Nothing special about this one. I say it should be half the price. I like your suggestion however of stretch goals including a smaller figure. If that was the case I could see it go for 125.00. It doesn't really do anything special and has no accessories. It just has more plastic. I guess you can argue the articulation, but there is only so much value comes with that.
😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣 It is HILARIOUS to watch folks try and justify this while calling others haters for wanting a BETTER price point and RETAIL releases on items we've ACTUALLY seen in other iterations from years past. . . Toy Biz did ALL these large figs for fuck's sake! All were done as BAF in a wave, something that Hasbro STILL DOES!!!! There is NO JUSTIFICATION for this to be crowdfunded NOR to cost $200+!!! $100/$150, AT RETAIL, FULL STOP! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
They should have just sold giant man on retail and preorder for 149.99. Or it could have been more attractive to add a normal size giant man and the wasp for 199.99 along with the face plates skrull and zombie.
I never thought I would ever see a Filthy Frank reference in an Analog Toys video... lol Great vid, honestly I agree all around. An extra 6" Giant Man would have been a really nice inclusion.
Tony makes a lot of sense in this video, but I'm honestly not bothered if this Giant Man gets the funding, as I still don't think Hasbro have got the figure right. It should have been more comic book accurate, with the tiers being a comic book accurate Ant Man and Wasp.
I'm so glad there are other TH-cam creators like yourself having a reasonable and based view on these Haslab products, partly due to the fact that most North American "influencers" don't like dissent with their ideas! Lol 👏👍
Yeah, This is a clearance retail item, not a Haslab. It's probably why they are Crowd Funding it. Although, if it was a retail item, it wouldn't affect their bottom lines, the sales losses would be at the retail to consumer level. The character is a redux of yet another ToyBiz era BAF, one that isn't popular enough to go to retail. The saddest part, is they are wasting the annual ML Haslab release on THIS.
Great Video! I believe basic math prevails here 10,000 backers equals $2 Million. They could have easily thrown in the extra instead of locking them behind an extra $800,000. Poor form on Hasbro's part. They need to save crowd funding for the little guys.
Tony, as with everything else nowadays, it could always be better in some way. You and ninja both make decent points about every aspect of this figure. But I'll be honest...Its not something I'm interested in, but I'd display it taking on the sentinel.
I don't think I'm backing Giant Man cause it is an awfully big figure and I'm not "in love" with it, but that being said I think it actually is exactly the kind of project that Haslabs call for. I don't agree with you that there is an appetite by retailers to back this particular figure at this scale and price. For Target and Walmart the storage commitment is likely too high, giving up 15 to 20 thousand dollars of shelf space that could be more Macbook's to sell on Black Friday with a single $200 item, and for mom and pop retailers the price would also be an issue and could go very bad for them if they got stuck with unsold units. So if this figure sold at retail it would likely need to be at a $100 price point and would likely only be 12 to 14 inches with less articulation. I'm not saying that you couldn't have that figure at retail, but I think the upgrades to this figure are what make crowdfunding neccisary. I think we can argue in good faith about which of those two offerings is the better call for fans, but I don't really think you would ever see a 24 inch figure with 90+ points of articulation at retail.
I agree that no big corporation should do crowd funding. And I’m annoyed that it’s £199 in the uk and $199. Should be £170. And I agree with the plastic shrinking/growing idea, that’s good. Seems that zombie and Skrull versions of figures have been popular tbh. And he is kinda niche in the fact that people like the MCU ant man but might not be aware of ant man history etc. ideal world, I’d pay £220 if they did a nine inch Goliath (that sounded wrong) deluxe fig to go along with it. That was a crazy costume. With that said, I think the vehicles being released for $150-170 people seem fine with that which feels a bit weird. Especially when there’s been similar on the market for $60-80.
The reality is that online community discussion is toxic with the overt negativity and not enough objective evidence of problems. It's more "Hasblow sucks" or "Marvel Legends are terrible" rather then good discussions most of the time. Hard to decipher between flat out online trolls and man babies complaining. I backed the Giant Man and I think it'll be a nice piece to my collection.
Marvel Legends 12” Deadpool Agent of Weapon X Action Figure 12” Thor 12” spider-Man 12” Captain America 12” Hulk all of them cost was 49.99 double that for 24 inch $99.99 even with inflation make it $129.99 or $149.99 that should be the price even last year Marvel Hasbro Legends Series 13" Action Figure Surtur, Infinity Saga was also $ 44.99 Also, every single one of those 12 inch figures came with a lot of accessories I cannot stress enough that there are no accessories It’s crazy how they are charging us more every time and no one says anything
A 6 inch version should be available at retail for people who can't back this. I agree that it doesn't have to be a crowdfund but it's not the cheapest Haslab so far so it's not a surprise to be honest. Transformers has had two $180 Haslabs that are much smaller. I think this helps the fans that can't afford $400 Haslabs feel more included because maybe they could afford a cheaper one but not something like a $400+ like Galactus.
I really don’t think this is going to get funded. Here’s my take: - Haslab buyers are mostly Xgens and older millennials. - the argument that price guides purchase on Haslab is valid but not entirely true. See for instance the latest Ghost which is horribly expensive and got funded, mostly because it is a ship and older SW fans love that sh*t. On the contrary, the engine of vengeance didn’t get funded because v few of us (the haslab buyers) were interested in THAT version of Ghost Rider (both the char and that fx-free car). If it’d have been Johnny Blaze with his motorcycle, I would’ve backed it from day 1. - similarly I’m not interested in Giant Man. The price is more affordable, but I already have the Sentinel and Galactus and I just don’t have space for Giant Man, even at $200, or for less (arguably perhaps I’d have bought it for $100 but stored it). - agree this is bs and not worth a Haslab, but……. Marvel and SW are marquee brands from the Mickey Mouse Co, and for good measure Hasbro has to, by contract, promote Disney licenses. For instance think of the stupidest Haslab of them all (yes, the lightsaber thingy that didn’t rotate): the goal was never to have this thing funded, but for Hasbro to do a PR favor when the Obi-Wan series were released on D+. - Hasbro pay a much small fee for TF as they co-own it with Takara, so bigger production (volume) and long shelf span, ergo retail release. - again, to me the price point isn’t a driver. Think that in 2023 in order to complete BAF fig you have to disburse 7 x 25$ (nominal) = 175$. Tbh Haslab dropped the ball, again and not surprisingly: the right thing to do should have been $199 with zero tier or just one tier and 2 or 3 figs attached to it, like an exclusive Thor or Iron Man or Cap. Oh well…
Imho another thing is that honestly is oversized: Giant-Man rarely grew so big, instead usuallt stayed at four meters tall. So a figure two times tall the standard marvel legends would have been enough, more easy to display and more important, more correct.
I would not buy it and totally agreed with you that you could find this in retail shops as they did do once 18 or 24inch star wars figures (don't know the sizes but I remember they was bigggggger)
First time viewer here! I enjoyed the content and overall presentation of your video. I also think that your ideas for the tier rewards are fabulous. I would have loved a 6 inch version of this figure.

AND those things were at Wal-mart for like $30-40
People like you always interpret this the wrong way, but here it goes:
It's. Not. 2004. Get over it.

I remember most of the toys (born Scotland ‘79)
80s was my decade!
Hasbro put up another production run of the 24” Titan Transformer Metroplex on Pulse yesterday and Sold Out in 10 minutes.
$200 for a 24 inch isnt bad.
Yes. Especially since the 12 inch Toybiz one goes for as much as 250 bucks on the aftermarket.
And to think that back in the 70's I could have turned my big GI Joe or Bionic man into Marvel's Giant-Man!🤯 It never even occurred to me😭
The problem with the Titan Transformers argument is that Marvel Legends doesn't do gangbusters in Asia like Transformers does. That's the main reason we're able to get the Titans in the first place.
Thanks for the video.
Ahahahaha, Bananas in boxes...man, I'd almost forgotten about that crap.
Nope….I just got a motu origins snake mountain in a beautiful box with tons of play features for 85$. Thanks Mattel
First time encountering your channel, very well and professionally reviewed. I can tell that you did your homework, gave alot of careful thoughts before posting this, unlike some others who just jump the gun with loads of craps. Thumbs up for this calm presentation.
Boom. Well we’ll said I know your not alone and know exactly what ur talkin about. Hell yes 🤘🏼
It always great to see your views on topics like this !!!
Get this guy a job!
Huh?
Totally agree on why this is not a haslab. I’ve been saying 18 inch figure as a pulse exclusive for 150ish would’ve sold well
I like your idea of the 6-inch figure and translucent piece illustrating his size change. I might go one step further and include a small one inch Ant-Man figure and a second translucent piece to display him going from giant to normal size and from normal size to ant size
As a Transformers fan, I should have realized that we do get a Titan every year. Though Titans used to cost way cheaper just a few years ago.
Did you see strickland win the title last night!? Amazing shit.
Oh man, The banana!!! Genius!!!
Or an Avengers meeting room playset to display the figures (with Jarvis of course)
@@DarkAlex1978 I'm always down for diorama display pieces. Not enough of those for figures.
I love it! I have the baf and i felt the baf fits well with the marvel universe figures than the marvel legends. This is a great height for Giant Man
It's a WIN!
The transformation piece would be sooo smart!!!!
I agree this shouldn't be a HasLab. Haven't heard anyone else say that yet
It's not a stretch. Disney's the epitome of greed.
A 6” scale “crushed” Ultron that you could put in his hand would’ve been a very cool unlock.
This figure didn’t need to be crowd funded and I do think it’s on the high side. However Hank Pym and his various personas is one of my favorite marvel characters of all time. I will probably end up backing this just because it’s the character and one I’ve wanted for a while. Also the tiers are absolute garbage
a part of me wants this but idk, the tiers you talked about sound way better than what we got
You’re right that it didn’t need crowdfunding, but after a couple duds, they needed a surefire hit to bring some credibility back to the platform.
It’s not proving to be a sure fire hit just yet
GOOD PRICE!! And you’re right, it should come with an exact 6” version and a clear plastic morphing stand to make it look like he’s morphing. So many people would buy your version of tierdom. 🤩
Some props would have been nice like that split ultron or a crushed car or even if you really wanted that zombie head zombie limbs, with skrull hands coming out of gloves something like a piece of a diorama like toybiz would do they have a whole creative team and they can think of something cool to add to this basic body. Maybe like a building that he was pushed into
Im confused about Zombie face as to my knowledge, apart from the MCU, there are no Zombie Marvel legends to display it with
Totally agree!
I hate crowfunds so much. Especially when big companies do it. I do think the price is reasonable but good luck finding 10K Giant Man fans. I just dont see it hitting 10k even with all the scalpers.
love your idea for the unlock tier of having the growing transformation. that would be super cool!
I would only suggest that the translucent figure be partially opaque and partially translucent
As it stands as of 9/27/2023, it’s going to take at least 200 new backers each day before end of campaign deadline (26 days), just to get the initial offer with no tiers included…😞
I believe this should have been 140 an Amazon exclusive. At 18 inches. Maybe get other giant men and Sentinels out of the mold.
Correct! Opinions can be toxic too.
The problem is...this isn't really a mechanical engineering 📽 project that needed a HASLAB! The Brand team are just grasping at straws to call a oversized action figure a HASLAB item in order to redeem they're reputation!
The Sentinel should have been 200 bucks and not a crowd fund I would of totally bought one, even if I don't have room to display it
It could be that those retail Transformers for $199 probably weren't selling too well.
Do you honestly believe that stores like Target and Wal-Mart would carry a figure like this for $199.99 on shelves? It would never move.
Even if they didn’t it would work much better as a D2C set sold vie Hasbro Pulse than as a HasLabs crowd fund.
It would make sense for comic shops to order as many as they want or think they could sell for their stores and ofcourse online retailers like bigbadtoystore and entertainment earth to have them available where they can let them sit much longer than retailers like Walmart or target.
Yes. Especially if boxed in pieces to take up less shelf space.
How about a figure of a hasbro executive which can be broken in two
No, I don't think it NEEDS to be a crowdfund, but these Haslabs have become an event to us toy collectors, and for better or worse all this discourse over them just helps it get more attention.
That Filthy Frank meme was top tier lmao
A concise and neutral POV video and tells some very valid opinion points. Well done, Tony
Agreed! Thx Tony!!
Hasblow isn’t a nickname for no reason
Next HasLab...Goliath!
I'll pass this. I hate the chest gap for one nitpick.
I kinda wanted a new Yellowjacket
Meow!
I already have the BAF.
This is a great looking figure but the crowd fund should have gone into a 40 inch Galactus figure.
You don’t your finger on the Hasbro pulse do you?
I'm willing to bet that they're probably going to add some additional items as an add-on at the end for the backers, similar to what they did with the Ghost Haslab where they said Sabine and Chopper would be available as an add-on purchase for backers.
I agree and see that coming especially when seeing what the buyers and toy influencers like this well constructed one is expressing. 👊🏼💎
No, it shouldn't be Haslab. Make it online, maybe limited to, say, 5000 pieces, and it'll sell.
😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣
It is HILARIOUS to watch folks try and justify this while calling others haters for wanting a BETTER price point and RETAIL releases on items we've ACTUALLY seen in other iterations from years past. .
I think the Transformers haslab projects have been legit and priced fairly.
I never thought I would ever see a Filthy Frank reference in an Analog Toys video... lol Great vid, honestly I agree all around. An extra 6" Giant Man would have been a really nice inclusion.
Okay, I'm getting a bunch of bananas & stuffing them in toy boxes at my local Walmart.
Lol 👏👍
there’s so many comments relatable to this on media as well. Well spoken coming forward 🙌🏼👏✌🏼
An alternate head, torso, crotch, arms and legs to make a Monkey Man.😅
I agree that no big corporation should do crowd funding.
👊🏼 your not alone. It’s balanced ( review ) Analog T was also clear headed and not driven by altered emotions alone.

Marvel Legends 12” Deadpool Agent of Weapon X Action Figure
12” Thor 12” spider-Man 12” Captain America 12” Hulk all of them cost was 49.99 double that for 24 inch $99.99 even with inflation make it $129.99 or $149.99 that should be the price even last year Marvel Hasbro Legends Series 13" Action Figure Surtur, Infinity Saga was also $ 44.99
Also, every single one of those 12 inch figures came with a lot of accessories I cannot stress enough that there are no accessories
It’s crazy how they are charging us more every time and no one says anything
A 6 inch version should be available at retail for people who can't back this. I agree that it doesn't have to be a crowdfund but it's not the cheapest Haslab so far so it's not a surprise to be honest. Transformers has had two $180 Haslabs that are much smaller. I think this helps the fans that can't afford $400 Haslabs feel more included because maybe they could afford a cheaper one but not something like a $400+ like Galactus.
Excellent video. I also liked the filthy frank cameo.
I really don’t think this is going to get funded. Here’s my take:
- Haslab buyers are mostly Xgens and older millennials.
