Lebrun's brother in law Franz Danzi would most likely have appreciated this concerto. Franz Danzi was one of the first Romantic composers. I also am amazed by the Romantic elements in this music, and especially in the first movement. It reminds me a bit of Mozart's 20th piano concerto which is in the same dark key. Quite a dramatic first concerto.
If there was a time machine, it would be worth going back and listening to this couple: The music historian Charles Burney wrote about appearances of the pair (soprano Franziska Danzi/ wife Levrona, Ludwig August Lebrun): "Franziska Danzi and the excellent oboist Lebrun usually travel together, and it seems as though she has listened to nothing other than his instrument, for when they perform together in thirds and sixths one cannot hear which is the upper or the lower voice!" Thanks Pau NG.

Never heard flute version. Still prefer oboe one, but good to expand my knowledge because I could capture nuances and appreciate distinct taste. Thanks
This song plays the oboe Concerto No. 1 in D minor, which is the original song of my favorite Ludwig August Lebrun, in flute, but it feels like a flute song from the beginning. .. This oboe Concerto has Heinz Holliger recordings from No. 1 to No. 6, and No. 7 is also a different soloist and has a sound source, but I think that the presence is outstanding among the seven songs. This flute Concerto was originally an oboe Concerto, but it also fits nicely with flute, so I don't know if it was arranged by Ludwig August Lebrun from the fact that Mozart's Oboe Concerto in C major was adapted to Flute Concerto No. 2 in D major. However, once I listen to this, I'm sure everyone will like it. This sound source will be added to my Ludwig August Lebrun playlist.
Ein sehr schönes Konzert, melodiös aber auch mächtig, wunderschön Thanks for posting.
You can almost "see" the birth of the Romantic Era starting to blossom listening to this music. Fascinating!

@@Reciclassicat Thanks, I'll look.
O tema inicial bem poderia ser um tema de concerto romântico; mas Lebrun é formalmente um clássico. Bela flauta!
Extraordinário!

Very fine, I know it in the version with oboe.
Excellent - Forerunner: Saverio Mercadante(1795-1870 )- Concerto per flauto e orchestra in mi minore
