Hey! If you're coming here from Super Eyepatch Wolf's video, first of all welcome! Second, while it looks like I haven't published a video in a while, I do have a few in the works, so if you like what you see I hope you stick around 😁
Hi TazerLad this is a FANTASTIC video. Fun to watch and incredibly informative. Will def subscribe. I'm wondering it sounds like Jump+ is Japan/Japanese only and the closest I'm getting to following their mangas is through the Shonen Jump app, am I correct?
Basically. There are a few Jump+ Manga that get translated on the Manga+ app but as of right now, for outside Japan there is no one app that is a 1:1 reflection of Jump+ as a digital publication
YES LET THE MANGAKA TAKE BREAKS!! I LOVE THIS!! EVEN ODA BEEN TAKING CONSISTENT BREAKS LATELY (GRANTED HE HAS THE LEWAY AND PULL TO KIND OF DO WHAT HE WANTS BUT). ANYWAYS, CAPS FOR EXCITEMENT
The shounen jump Plus app is run by this media however his media is also owned by the company that owns shonen jump. The other mangas you see are in the app because they may not be in shonen jump however it doesn't matter as long as they're in the jump family. Young jump, Grand jump ultra jump, super jump, v jump and even business jump. Not all of them get that much attention some over others but if they're into jump line chances are it will show on the app and especially if his media has ownership of it. Overall though that company owns it all so it really doesn't matter
@@e-male896 I know I'm going off topic, but There's some speculation going around that Orihime Inoue from Bleach played the role of the ditzy blonde/idiot/ bimbo? I fail to comprehend that logic, because to me she just seems sweet and cheerful, but not dumb or a bimbo. Orihime Inoue never played the role of the bimbo, she was quirky, but that's not the same thing as dumb or bimbo.
Also, Spy x Family is one of my favorite new series that I have read. The mix of comedy, actually solid action, tense non-battle battles, and the genuine heart that comes from these characters growing to love each other is like the perfect storm. I desperately want an anime for it and just hope a good director and studio are tapped to take it on.
I use manga PLUS, and quickly noticed it wasn't just shonen jump because it had too many series that weren't shonen jump. I'm happy I'm able to read manga legally weekly, but as I can't get the other apps, I just wish you could subscribe on it to read more than 3 of the first and latest chapters.
My favorite manga on manga + Moon land by Sai Yamagishi seems to be an exception because the whole series is access. I would recommend it to anyone who is into sports manga
1:06 That is the author of Jujutsu Kaisen. Okey the second one I never heard of, but I did know the first one off the top of my head. I find it strange that people don't know the names of manga authors.. does nobody read the cover of the manga volumes or look at the titles on the apps? On the manga plus app when you bring up the manga it tells you the name and the author before you even get to choose what chapter to read.
While I think SJ is the superior app, it's also has limited availability since it's restricted to like 10 countries while Manga + is available worldwide.
I wanted more app options in my country. I only have Jump +, but these limited chapter options are not very good for reading the whole series. BUT, I discovered great series as well as Spy x Family, Kaiju N 8, Jujutsu and Chainsaw man
Thanks for this! I have been feeling dumb but afraid to ask and looking it up was more confusing. I got SJ app for Chainsaw Man and ended up getting hooked on a bunch of other stuff, but could not figure out why so many things were not in that Viz owned. Great explanation!
Gege Akutami is known for his manga Jujutsu Kaisen. But I don't know if he had any other mangas before that one in Shounen Jump (I assume JJK wasn't his first manga but I don't know if his former work was in the Shounen Jump as well)
I have a somting to make it even more complicated I have in EU "manga plus" by shueisha ONLY With pretty much every weekly jump title and things like dragon bal super and spyXfamily. BUT also Ayakashi triangle But not one punch man It's weird fam
@@TazerLad Yhea, i was early with the comment Just downoed a apk if the jump app But offical only jump + is the only on in the EU(or Netherlands atleast)
I should remember the names of more of the mangaka's I read. I'm happy I at least remember the names of the ones who wrote most of my favorites. Kei Sanbe "Erased", Akihito Tsukushi "Made in Abyss", Yamazaki Kore "The Ancient Magus Bride", Tsukumizu (or TKMiz) "Girl's' Last Tour" and "Shimeji Simulation", Hirohiko Araki "JoJo". Mamare Touno writes the "Log Horizon" Light Novels, and Rorita is the author of the "Watermelon" webtoon, which I guess is similar enough. Some others, I'd probably be able to recognize if I heard the name though. We definitely need to give credit to the authors, not the distributors, but I can only even keep track of that because I keep tabs open of anything I'm currently reading at all times.
It’s worthy to note that Viz’s paywall gives access to more manga than what’s on the app. I guess, because of age restrictions, 18+ only titles like Golden Kamuy and Fire Punch are only accessible through their website, which utilizes your same account from the app. Strangely, while not having an 18+ rating, Ayakashi Triangle is only accessible on the website as well.
I was sad I didn't know who Hitsuji Gondaira was because I always make the effort to know the authors behind the stuff I read (whether I like them or not) but then I realized I don't even know the manga you mentioned and now I'm double sad
Might as well wait for the VRV equivalent of these apps. Just have all of them lumped into one manga service for basically nothing compared to them individually. Also is it just me or did your outro music sound like something from Rimworld?

i wish the manga plus app had a way to unlock all the chapters with a paid subscription. For me it's the only way to read manga legally without buying indevidual volumes :/
