  • Starts and finishes at The Star Inn (GU10 5LW) 5 miles approx.
A lovely Hampshire walk occasionally alongside the young River Wey where cattle and sheep graze in the meadows and the crops blow in the breeze. The small villages of Bentley and Isington punch above their weight when it comes to famous residents with founders of the scouting and guiding movements (and my personal heroes) Robert and Olave Baden - Powell having once lived up at Pax Hill. Field Marshall Bernard Law Montgomery of Alamein living and dying at Isington Mill (Buried at Holy Cross, Binsted) and Harold Sanderson who was chairman of White Star Line in 1913 immediately after Bruce Ismay resigned over the Titanic disaster.
Bentley was also BBC Radio 4 and ITV's " The Village" in the 1990's.
Come along with me and enjoy a walk in this beautiful corner of North Hampshire.
