Preparing to be a first-time dad, 14 weeks along at the end of this week, and I’m so thankful for your videos. Resources for fathers are REALLY scarce, but your approach outlines everything so well, and I can see where I can help and what my wife might be experiencing week by week as the pregnancy progresses and when the time comes birth and PP.
@@DianaInThePink thanks! That really means a lot. Gonna do my absolute best to take care of my wife and our little (now) lemon. The excitement’s kicking in for us, so we’ll be binging your videos in our free time. 😊
I'm so happy to see this comment, and I wish every new father would be interested in learning as much as possible about what their wife/partner can and will be going through!
I am 3 weeks post partum with my first child . One thing I would urge Healthcare providers to advise patients would be to not sit in low chairs/couches when recovering from a vaginal birth. On the day we were discharged, I sat on my low couch and got up thinking it was no problem since I felt great. Well I guess there was too much pressure because it either ripped my stitches or ripped a new tear in me. I stood in place when I got up because I had felt a pop and felt a lot of warm blood. Well I bled right through my pad and there was blood running down my legs in less than a minute. I thought I was hemorraging. I had my baby at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (free to birth my baby at since my husband is from that tribe) but it is 2 hours from our home. My husband rushed me to our local hospital, only 20 minutes away. They determined( after hours there 🙄) they couldn't do anything for me and sent me to the CNMC where I had my baby. When I got there (hours later) they confirned it wasn't a hemorrage but I did have a large tear and was still bleeding. They couldn't tell if it was the stitched area that had a tear or if it was a new tear. They gave me intravenous antibiotics and said they couldn't sew me back up because it risks infection. The Chickasaw Nation was fantastic and I should have gone there first, I just thought I was bleeding too much for a 2 hour drive to get there. I was away from my baby for a full day and my poor husband had to wait for hours thinking I was hemorrhaging and dying. We were advised to not take the baby into the ER since he could catch something so my husband stayed in the parking lot with our newborn until my mom could come to our city (she is the closest relative and she was 2 hours away). My mom had to bring formula since I had been breast feeding until then. The Rollercoaster of emotions after that was crazy. Every time I thought about the experience I would cry. I would feel amazing and then it would pop into my head and the tears would immediate sprout. I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone! Everyone just said to take it easy, but I never thought that sitting on a low couch wouldn't be considered easy! Anyway, that was a long story, but I really would have appreciated if someone had told me jt was possible to tear that way, I would have been much more careful of where I sat.
So sorry you had to go through that! I wonder how low is too low? Most of the furniture nowadays is made so small and low it’s frustrating. I’m 5’8” and the shortest adult in my immediate family so I try to get regular sized furniture.
Oh my gosh :/ that is very very traumatic! I am so sorry you had to go through this but I am glad you are sharing your story to let other women in on what could happen.
My inner labia ripped into pieces during labour and I was living in poverty at the time, with inexpensive furniture. The stitches tore the day after labour. Never healed
All this is actually not trumped by loving your baby necessarily. The two things aren’t related. I love that we’re meant to just be chill with all this physical and emotional trauma cos like BABY YAY
I’ve been watching your channel my entire pregnancy. I’m now 17 days post partum with my beautiful healthy daughter :). My labor was definitely not what I was planning, I had GDM and at 37wks they suspected IUGR so I had to have an induction at 39wks. After 3 days and finally getting to 10cm and pushing, my OB saw my cervix was swelling, we waited for it to go back down and nothing, so I ended up with a C-section before it became an emergency. My husband has been an utter rockstar this entire time and I started therapy soon before I gave birth to keep a close eye on ppd and ppa.
Had my first baby in December. Definitely had dental issues during pregnancy. I was also constipated due to iron in my prenatal pills. I did have those feelings of cramps after delivering. I breastfeed, so I noticed when I was nursing, my cramps were more noticeable. Post baby, I experienced extreme exhaustion and some postpartum baby blues/PPD. My daughter is now almost 4 months and I’m finally getting back to normal and feeling like myself again. 💕
I have put about 4-5 dates in my smoothie every morning throughout my first pregnancy. I have done that every day from 2-3 trimester. I’ve had no constipation or hemorrhoids at all. Just a tip!
I'm 32 weeks and adding 5-6 dates to my oatmeal almost every day, also I'm eating dried plums every few days. No more constipation! I had big problems with it before in my pregnancy
I had My baby back in August and around 4 months I had really bad post partum hair loss and also post partum depression now she's 7 months and my hair is growing back and I don't feel depressed how I did. So it does get better ❤
@@SipLikeTea I feel like the depression came first for me then once I started loosing my hair it got worse .. but just hang in there it does get better with time it’s only temporary hair grows back
My son is 8 months and my hair is still shedding but is growing back. Unfortunately it's right on my hair line around my forehead and it looks like I've had an accident with straighteners as it looks like it's broken off 🤣 but its growing back atleast!
I had my son three weeks ago and I had a tough first week and a half of recovery. I had postpartum swelling in my ankles and hands, contact dermatitis from Always disposable underwear, an emotional Rollercoaster (crying and exhaustion), swelling, itching, burning, bleeding, etc. Luckily with self care (daily shower, prescription meds, ice packs, hugs, kisses and encouragement) I was able to get through it. I'm back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. I still have a bulge as my uterus continues to shrink and my belly is darker than the other parts of my body. Also was very gassy. The Linea Nigra is still there. I was always, always thirsty, so I drink lots of water. But most important, I'm feeling better, more like myself and I'm in love with my little pumpkin. I'm in no rush to fit into jeans and have been happy wearing my night dresses all day. Last week, I started wearing home shorts and loose shirts, which to me means I'm on the mend.
Currently in the 4th trimester after my third baby and let me just say you’re so right about the after birth pains! They definitely get worse each pregnancy. The after ease drop are a life saver.
Just had my first babe on 7/15. He came 4 weeks early, I watched your 36 wk video Wednesday, then went into labor Thursday. Baby boy is healthy 💙 but these hormones are all over the place
Had my baby in late October. Didn't notice hair loss until January. My shedding was so bad but it only lasted like a month. I did protein treatments every month and I'm seeing great changes. It's growing back

I literally had the most amazing birth experience and postpartum (currently 8 months postpartum) period. But I was not prepared for losing weight so fast and the hair loss after birth.

Hi! I had my first baby a month ago, still haven't noticed any hair loss. I think I definitely had the baby blues, I felt so sad when we came back from the hospital I think it was mostly because my mom wasn't able to be with me when the baby was born because she got Covid :( I had a c section so I'm still recovering. I love your channel, I've been watching since I was around 20 weeks pregnant, sooo helpful!!!! Thank you Watching from Mexico 🇲🇽
It definitely takes a while. Up to 6 months sometimes. Also affected by whether you are breastfeeding or not, and if your period came back quickly. If planning to dye your hair or do some aggressive treatments such as keratin, it is better wait a little or consider less harsh options.
Delivered two weeks ago. I have been following you since I found out I was pregnant and started watching your week by week pregnancy videos. It's been such a help. Please make a video about things to do after c section.
I had my baby more than a week ago. I was so excited up until day 4, I felt so sad and cried a lot even when everything was fine besides the painful vaginal stitches. I felt bad for crying... I'm slowly getting better. Thank you for your videos throughout my pregnancy.
It does get better :) I got sad pretty immediately, like the next morning in the hospital my husband left for 15 min to run back home to get more daipers (we live right by the hospital) and I was alone with the baby for the first time and this immense feeling of sadness and guilt, a feeling like il never be a good mom and how am I going to take care of this baby came over me, I started bawling and tried to hide it before my husband came back
I have watched all your videos throughout my pregnancy and moving to postpartum.your videos are AMAZING and I have learned so much . I had a forceps delivery at 40 weeks +2 days . It all went well . Thanks a million
I followed along with your pregnancy videos throughout most of my pregnancy. My daughter is 8.5 months old now. This just popped up on my page and brought back memories of being pregnant and curious to learn about baby. 🥰 thank you.
I’m 36 weeks & anxious for labor 😬 it’s getting real now..but it’s so crazy no one really talks about these things! I feel like it’s pregnancy/delivery/postpartum is so mundane & routine women just forget about it but to go through it has been very interesting to say the least. I’ve been watching your videos from the start & really enjoy them so thank you😊
Thank you for making these videos. When I was pregnant with my first I thought I was going in well prepared but I didn't even know I had to deliver the placenta right after having the baby. I thought everything just came out all at once. I was so surprised when they told me I now had to deliver deliver the placenta and I was then SHOCKED to see how big the placenta was.
I've been so stressed and unhappy for the past week, and finding these videos has helped calm me down. 😞 Pregnancy is hard, this is my first time and I'm 31 weeks today.

I had my second baby about six weeks ago. I’d been meaning to watch this video. I just want to say your videos keep me feeling positive and normal. Thank you.
You can help prevent tearing by delivering on all fours. I delivered three children at home naturally and the only child that I tore with was the one who I delivered laying down on my back. He was my second birth and I pushed for like 4 hours!!! I don’t recommend laying down to push lol. With the other two babies I pushed in crouch position for about 20 minutes and they basically walked out and I did not tear at all ❤️ There may have been other factors at play like baby head position and such but I believe the birthing position played a large role!
Much respect for your brave choice to have a natural birth. I'm on my first pregnancy right now, and I would love to do natural but I'm terrified and don't have the resources.
Find the TH-cam channels “legacie birth” and “built to birth” they are both excellent sources and have so much information and inspiration. You will feel so confident in your ability to birth after watching other women triumph! Congratulations and you are built to birth you got this mama ❤️ It is going to be the best moment of your life no matter how your little one gets to you, this must be such an exciting time for you! Also remember to drink lots and lots of raspberry leaf tea to strengthen your uterus and do your pelvic tilts everyday to get baby in optimal position
11 weeks here. I've done so much research that I feel like my brain is going to explode. But I still find myself struggling to come to Turms with the fact that I'm finally pregnant. I just don't feel pregnant yet, despite the overwhelming nausea, vomiting, exhaustion, and mood swings. I am hoping that watching a bunch of videos about pregnancy, infants, being pregnant, birth, anything will make me start actually believing it. Despite seeing the baby on ultrasound, hearing its heartbeat, seeing the pregnancy test, and going to three doctors appointments. Anybody else struggle with this? I wanted a kid for years now, and it only took a week to actually get there after so much time of denying myself the pleasure of carrying a child. My partner is happy, our families are happy, I am happy, but I still just can't believe it for some reason. I find your videos quite informative, and your voice easy to listen to while I work. Thank you so much for all these videos. I'm currently binging all of them now
I just delivered and I’m so in love with my baby. I watched your videos during my entire pregnancy. Thank you so much for preparing me for my first baby!!
I’m still pregnant (35 weeks 2 days) having my first baby 🥰👶🏻🎀❤️and I’m excited and nervous. I’ve been trying to inform myself as much as I can because going into this and not knowing what to expect is more terrifying then anything else. Knowledge is power 🤓💪🏻
I’m 36 weeks tomorrow. Having my first child and trying to learn all the things! 🙃 I actually just went to the dentist this week! 😁 Also, speaking of hemorrhoids… I didn’t know prior to pregnancy that vulvar varicosities was a thing during pregnancy… 😳
Thank you Dianna for all your breathing techniques, I had my baby 2weeks ago and you dont know how thankful I am for the breathing content you did, helped me survived 15hrs of labour all natural. I am here now because l do not know what is happening to my body lol. Thank you again and love to all the mamas, you are doing great

I am due in about a month and a half with my third. always something to learn! With my second I was terribly surprised with after birth pains. Never felt/noticed them with my first and they felt like I was going into labor again! No one ever told me about them, and I thought I knew it all because I gave birth before! Then my nurse-midwife told me about them and that they would likely get worse with each baby. So, not looking forward to that again, haha

It does get better :) I got sad pretty immediately, like the next morning in the hospital my husband left for 15 min to run back home to get more daipers (we live right by the hospital) and I was alone with the baby for the first time and this immense feeling of sadness and guilt, a feeling like il never be a good mom and how am I going to take care of this baby came over me, I started bawling and tried to hide it before my husband came back
@@kimberlyh463 oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that you felt that way. Knowing it gets better, brings hope. I bet you are a great mommy. 😊
I have watched all your videos throughout my pregnancy and moving to postpartum.your videos are AMAZING and I have learned so much .
I had a forceps delivery at 40 weeks +2 days .
It all went well .
Thanks a million
Now I'm even more terrified 😨 😵💫😭😭😭 I'm still 23weeks
I followed along with your pregnancy videos throughout most of my pregnancy. My daughter is 8.5 months old now. This just popped up on my page and brought back memories of being pregnant and curious to learn about baby. 🥰 thank you.
I’m 36 weeks & anxious for labor 😬 it’s getting real now..but it’s so crazy no one really talks about these things! I feel like it’s pregnancy/delivery/postpartum is so mundane & routine women just forget about it but to go through it has been very interesting to say the least. I’ve been watching your videos from the start & really enjoy them so thank you😊
I'm 6 weeks postpartum. Your videos are great and got me through my pregnancy. Thank you!
Just found out I’m pregnant, this will be our first 😭 so nervous and excited 😂
I've been so stressed and unhappy for the past week, and finding these videos has helped calm me down. 😞 Pregnancy is hard, this is my first time and I'm 31 weeks today.
It's hard sometimes. Especially in the 3rd trimester. You'll be snuggling that little one soon though. 😍

God bless you both ❤
I'm so excited for you to hold your little guy💜
15 weeks pregnant for the very first time. Tysm for videos like this. Warns me of whats to come 😆
You can help prevent tearing by delivering on all fours.
Your videos are wonderful! Not pregnant here. But your excitement about the topics your cover is really contagious!
I'm currently binging all of them now
Congratulations 💜 and thank you so much. For many women, feeling the baby move for the first time makes their pregnancy feel more real💜
I understand this! I’m 35 weeks and it still doesn’t really and I had Ivf! I feel like it’ll hit me when baby’s here! Best of luck!💕
I just delivered and I’m so in love with my baby. I watched your videos during my entire pregnancy. Thank you so much for preparing me for my first baby!!
Congratulations on your little baby. Thanks for letting me know. I'm so happy for you😃
I am currently 26 weeks and 2 days. I love all your videos and I’m just trying to be prepared for when I have my little boy. 🥰💙
I watched your videos week by week during my pregnancy. My little one was born March 13
Good for you Eliza. I totally agree 👍
I’m currently 8months & a week pregnant with baby number 2… ahhh I’m excited 🙈
Just gave birth to my first baby C Section still in pain but so in love with him your videos helped so much

I actually just went to the dentist this week! 😁
Also, speaking of hemorrhoids… I didn’t know prior to pregnancy that vulvar varicosities was a thing during pregnancy… 😳
Thank you Dianna for all your breathing techniques, I had my baby 2weeks ago and you dont know how thankful I am for the breathing content you did, helped me survived 15hrs of labour all natural. I am here now because l do not know what is happening to my body lol. Thank you again and love to all the mamas, you are doing great
i am 8months with my first. its getting pretty uncomfortable, haha. i was feeling anxious about giving birth so i thought i'd watch some videos to help ease my anxiety. definitely helping. Thank you!
I've had baby blues for these 9 months of pregnancy so I'm ready to continue feeling like that. My due date is in 3 weeks or maybe less.
I'm due in 8 weeks time, I'm not looking forward to the birthing process, how are you coping?
Oh the baby blues are so so real and the self doubt....
Had baby #2 February 9th of this year. My kiddos are almost 10 years apart & I'm having a much easier time with the postpartum period this time around.
Hi Diana, thank you for the great information. I am 38 and 3 days pregnant with our second girl. Excited, nervous and hopeful. I just found your video a month ago and loving your shared knowledge and experience.
Diana I love your videos, came across you when I got pregnant and have been watching your pregnancy week by week videos, I just recently Gave birth at 39 weeks and never got to watch your 40th week of pregnancy video because I got busy with the baby plus hey I was done with pregnancy anyway, I love you girl and now here I am after birth still here watching your video. Love yoy
Just had my second son one week ago… adjusting life with newborn and a toddler ❤
I'm so excited to be a mom again I just recently start watching your videos I'll be having my little bundle of joy in 19 days and I can't wait to meet her second time Mom my son is about to be 12 he going to be a big brother he's excited to as well.
Preparing for my first baby in Kan 2023! I’m an older mom and I used IVF to have this baby on my own. I’m trying to do all I can to be prepared.
This is my 2nd pregnancy and my postpartum after my first was a process I was not prepared for and it was very challenging to go through. This time around I want to mentally and emotionally prepare to go about it in a healthy positive way to heal.

Currently 36 weeks pregnant with my third child. Very optimistic for pp hoping the best 🤞🏾
First time mom just had my baby via c-section Dec 16th 2022 and 3 weeks postpartum and your videos have been very helpful through my pregnancy journey.
I gave birth 2 weeks ago. I think I had slight baby blues in the first week. It’s like I felt a strange sadness with my pregnancy being over like a favourite show coming to an end. We had a c-section delivery and recovery hasn’t been too bad. Just stay on top of the pain meds and also try move about lightly as often as you can😊💕
Due today!! I had a membrane sweep, so we'll see if that gets the party started. Thank you so much for these videos- they are the perfect combination of encouraging + educational.
