- Here's a typical yard sale find, a Platter Pak filled with 45's. I only looked at the first few and seeing late 1950's and early 60's records in decent condition, offered the seller ten dollars which was gladly accepted. Join me know as I dig into the mystery box of seven inchers. What will we find, junk or gem?
Good score on the Elvis and all those nice looking picture sleeves.
Nice box of 45’s 👍
My mom gave me that same 45 rpm storage box back in the day. Cool.
I have a ton of 45s I collected back in the 80s and 90s mostly , when we used to go to Salvation Army stores and I would get them for 10 cents.
My main favorites are James Brown records with his picture on them and old soul records. ( I was in Detroit ) Plus everyone I knew was giving me their old 45 collections.
My three favorites are
James Brown - I Cant Stand Myself When You Touch Me
James Brown - Sex Machine
Soul Brothers Six - Some Kind of Wonderful ( original )
They are all beat up but they are fun to play on my old 50s RCA 45 player
The platter pak group of 45's was a steal for $10. Despite the fact that some those 45's were unknown, everything looked like it was in great shape. Someone obviously cared about their records.
Those sleeves are worth more than the record sometimes. BB king and Elvis are scores. Love that container
it's me MAX!
The other side of that Paradons disc, "Diamonds and Pearls", was the plug. Good doo-wop disc.
Helen Shapiro UK singer aged 15 in 1961. A fan might be prepared to buy that one.
That was fun! Happy listening!
You stole that box of 45s, nice haul indeed!
The Jaguar is a nice piece
And the common stuff looks mint
the Bruno Mars 45 was an exclusive to just the Hallmark Card stores,it came out a few years back
You got a good deal on the box of 45’s ! 🥰
Helen Shapiro was one of England's top female singers in the early 60's. Had a good handful of hits there
I believe there was a time when the Beatles actually opened for Helen's shows way back when
There are very good records!!
Rockflowers were a 3 or 4 member girl group that was marketed to kids in the 1970s. They had a modest hit called "Number Wonderful" in my market. Very cool that Bruno Mars record. It came out in 2014.
Same happened to me years ago at thrift shop deal. The box looked just like that! A bill Parsons all-American boy, Lene Loving, children of the sun Decca,Ma Rare Earth, only unusual ones. The rest popular artists of 70' to 80' only 2 picyure sleeved Don Henley and Aretha Freeway of Love. Also Doogie Brosnan. Helen Redding, Tom Petty, Charlie Daniel's etc. All in nice condit.on. about 30 records.
Got a stack of 45s but lots of African artists need to make a video of them.
I'm pretty sure that that Del Kacher is Del Casher, who was a member of the Mothers of Invention for about a month in the fall of 1966. He also invented several guitar-related devices, including the Wah-Wah pedal.
Yes, correct. He also played with The Three Suns. Very distinctive guitar sound.
The Helen Shapiro may be of interest to the Northern soul crowd in the UK.
I bought 2 boxes 5 bucks at a thrift store filled with record 33 pop and 61 greek
That’s Edsels is about a $75 to $100 record
No its not In the past 3 years several copies have sold on Ebay in the 5-10 dollar range
in your dreams maybe!!
I noticed some nice DooWop.
Lots of interesting labels. Somebody had a contact in the industry, or maybe a juke box stocker.
Definitely got your ten bucks worth out of that box! What’s the story with the Jaguar label record?
Buddy Landon nice pickup.
NOICE,.....
Elvis and Ricky Nelson
SUEÑO (spanish) = i dream
Rick Deshon
Nothing earth shattering I hope you didn't pay too much. Just a bunch of common stuff
Just a cheap yard sale find.
Lot of nothing
