    The most honest pianist ever. Some say he plays too fast or slow but I can't feel the tempo since he makes me forget about the time and its passing. Absolute, as it is and it is honesty.

    Yes, am absolutely about call E.Kissin an hedonist,sibarite in music...he is not only perfectionist in all he is playing...he brings delight to people for whom he performs -and at the same time we can see (all? may be - not all...) how much he delights himself ...I had a pleasure to play (in orchestra) many times with Kissin as a soloist in different programmes and only would dare to compare his "ways" to one of the greatest artists like is Martha Argerich...just - freedom and delight in music..

    I took those definitions from urbandictionary, which is actually a very reliable and well known source for english word definitions. I don't really see why you make so much enphasis on me if I said son, it's not really a big deal if you are older than me. However what I'm seeing here is that you don't want to accept that you completely misunderstood my previous comment. Just to clear things out, I didn't intend to understimated neither Horowitz,Richter or Gilels.

  • @MrStrav81

    His faster Mozart movements are electrifying, but I'm not sure I have an opinion on the rest.

  • @MrFpam
    @MrFpam 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are you seriously saying that Rubinstein, Lipatti, Gilels and Richter were or are overrated? Where is the evidence for this?

    Your negative comments, including the remark about Barenboim, are unsubstantiated and unhelpful. You are entitled to your opinion, but you should keep it to yourself and not inflict it on others who appreciate Kissin.

  • @MrFpam
    @MrFpam 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry if I misunderstood your comment. It certainly seemed that you did underestimate them as you said they were overrated. I am not emphasizing that you said son, just replying to your comment "How am I supposed to know your age, etc." You took a superior tone with me by addressing me as son and then tried to excuse it by saying you couldn't know how old I was. I am prepared to accept those very modern streetwise "urban" definitjons of overrated, but they don't change the point at all.

    Instead of being offended at your cheeky reference to me as "son", I have to laugh, as I am most probably old enough to be your father if not your grandfather. Your comment that the pianists were very overrated (not something that they didn't deserve), doesn't make sense. If they deserved it then they were not overrated. They were certainly highly rated and quite deservedly they still are. But I don't want to discuss it any further.

  • @MrFpam
    @MrFpam 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Those definitions (which I suspect you made up) are so close as to be virtually indistinguishable. Overrate means to rate or value too highly. I do not believe that any of those great pianists were or are rated too highly and you have no evidence to prove that they were. If you didn't know my age why did you call me son? I used the word probably, taking into account my own age and the likelihood that you are a lot younger! By the nature of your reply I can see that this argument is pointless.

    0:38, good pianists always wear diamond watches ;)

  • @shadowjuan2
    @shadowjuan2 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Overrated has different meanings,you could say Richter is overrated if you follow the definiton of "Anything that is given too much credit and hype", but you could say he is not overrated by the definition "A term used to describe something that gets more hype and credit than it's actually worth". I'm sorry but apparently you didn't know that a word can have different meanings. Anyways this is the Internet, how I'm supposed to know your age, and how do you know mine?

  • @AmyAmy-er8bp

    Don't test my personality on the piano. Same sound when European plays? But the same piano.

  • @shadowjuan2
    @shadowjuan2 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's funny because most of the pianists you mentioned were overrated during their times...

  • @shadowjuan2
    @shadowjuan2 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't misunderstand me they worked their ass off to get into the overrated level, they were the best during their times it's true, but let's keep it real son, you know as much as me that this pianists were very overrated (not something that they didn't deserve). Anyways I prefer them being overrated rather than underrated if it was that way I wouldn't even know them.
