I think both represent Zero equally well, just in different times. After his girlfriend died by his hands, he's still fighting, but why? He doesn't really know.
This theme has a mix of emotions in it. It fits Zero at this current stage of his life, which has become decidedly more sadder and tragic. His last theme was to invoke feelings of heroism, duty, and sense of urgency trying to stop the Mavericks from attacking the Sky Lagoon. Coming fresh off the Repliforce War and the realization he used to be a Maverick, Zero is a changed person. While still maintaining his focus on his duty as a Maverick Hunter and friendship to X, he now carries regret and brokenness within himself after he was force to retire Iris (and Colonel) in the last game. Its a much more complex theme than it first appears. Like, i feel like as you play Zero in the intro stage, he more contemplative and "in his head" for lack of a better term. This can be seen when Zero discusses the idea that Maverick Hunters and Mavericks are very similar and that they simply all exist (which leads X to ask what is bothering Zero) at the end of the stage. The theme picks up in tempo and intensity on the latter half. I always felt this bit represented Zero's determination to fight on despite losing so much. That at the end of the day, Zero is choosing to fight and not give in to despair. It carries some of sense of heroism from the X4 theme.
I fully see what you mean and have felt similarly about it. It has some somberness, a tragic sense that also says that you need to keep moving and fighting even if it feels like all has changed and for the worse.
A really good counterpoint of the personified hope that X shows in his intro theme: The programming of Dr Light, the lessons with Dr Cain, then Sigma's betrayal and a reality check that if you want peace you must fight a war if it's necessary. Maybe the damages, death, and devastation may cause doubts about how far he must go, BUT he needs to keep it up and carry on to see the answer to the question, to fight what he believes and to commit to the mission as that is his duty. X is supposed to be the heart as Zero is the reason, but both are conscious that they need what the other have and perhaps that's one of the best perks that build the bond they have. Yes, X got betrayed by Double, had to face Colonel, General, and the Repliforce, and despite the doubts about him being a maverick in the future, until that "inevitability" happens, he will fight for peace and the protection of humans and reploids, with his life if it's necessary.
I think this theme fits with zero’s character during this time, conflicted after the events of X4, being unable to save those he cared about the most, but still continuing to fight regardless
No matter how grim the situation is... No matter how much despair has its hold... Zero will always shine through to save the day! Always does that scream with this song when I listen to it. True resolve and unwavering heroics abound.

Starting as Zero and then having X without the Fourth Armor is mercyless. X5 was insanely difficult for starters, but I played and played until I beat it, and now is one of my favourite games ever
X is good for starters cause he can charge shots and attack at a range. However I find Zero to be better as his saber doesn't need to charge to deel damage to bosses and his agility is better with his double jump. His saber can also be used to destroy shots. He takes more time to get used to but he is deadly once you get used to his rush in deel damage and get out rather then the stand back and fire we have been used to in the first three games. Zero did have his own story mode in x4.
Start the game with zero is very broken. You lose the fourth armor. And cant get falcon armor with zero, if you cant get falcon you cant get the gaia armor. And if you fail to destroy the colony you LOSE ZERO WITH ALL UPGRADES ONLY REMAINING THE X Fuck
This has to be Zero's most underrated theme along with the X4 one, I never see either of them getting brought up at all while the SNES trilogy's themes are fondly remembered by everyone.

It should’ve been hinted to me from his victory jingle, but having prior knowledge of this game (at least after my first playthrough in which I chose X anyway) I never chose Zero initially because I never wanted to blow up the Fourth Armor. So I just thought this only played when Zero saved himself and X from being finished off by Sigma after they drew.
This is my chosen theme song for the post-pandemic world. There's this sense of utter confusion in the beginning, but as the theme progresses, it gets more confident - things will be alright as we keep fighting the good battle.
the term Reploid in the japanese version refers to all sentient robots of the X series with human like capabilities. X and Zero are thus referred to as Reploids.
Zero - "In my years fighting Maverick crime, I learned one truth: that every villain is a hero to their own story. Sigma is one of them. Doctor Wily, my own creator who turned evil, has implanted a virus in me that made me go berserk, putting me on the stasis. And kill the Maverick hunters upon awakening. Sigma defeated me in battle, but he didn't come out unscathed. Thus, the virus has merged with his AI. When Sigma started the maverick wars, I understood why. We all did. But once that line is crossed, there was no going back. And that's when Sigma and his followers start a new mandate: to overthrow humanity and make a world only for Reploids. But, Sigma couldn't realized that the virus has clouded his judgment which lead down to a path of tyranny and evil. And that's when our world's greatest Maverick Hunter have became our greatest threat to both Humans and Reploids.

In a way the plethora of references to past games makes sense, since this was originally intended to be the final game in the X series that would round out the story - so sort of bringing it all together as a final summation.
The game's opening theme is also a remix of one of the weapon get themes from the classic series. Tho I can't remember right now which one it is, but I think it's Mega Man 3's

I don't recall that losing him "temporarily" was possible, you either lost him permanently (gets corrupted by the colony virus succesfuly reaching Earth and infecting Zero, who sacrifices himself after beating him) or the colony is destroyed and you get to play as him for the virus stages if you wish so.
@@buntado6 tbf I probably stand corrected. Mainly cause every time I forgot that only using zero throughout the game prevents you from powering up X. So therefor by the time I got far enough to where zero was unplayable, I never got much further because it was basically impossible to continue with vanilla X.

@@bobbyturkalino5094you can still go back to early levels with X and collect parts for Falcon Armor. Which is easily the best armor/character in game when you can fly as X and he can soak huge amounts of damage. Then collect Ultimate armor in Sigma 3 level. The Evil Zero boss fight is also not much different that you can pretty much trade damage and kill him quickly. So yeah this game isn’t unbeatable with regular X.
He dies often in the X series in general to come back in the next. He even jokes about it somewhat in Command Mission: "You know me: Never say die". Also technically he was supposed to die, remember MMX6 wasn't supposed to exist, it was Capcom wanting Inafune to make another X game instead of letting him close it out with X5 and move onto Megaman Zero.

@@buntado6 tbf I probably stand corrected. Mainly cause every time I forgot that only using zero throughout the game prevents you from powering up X. So therefor by the time I got far enough to where zero was unplayable, I never got much further because it was basically impossible to continue with vanilla X.
I basically have only gotten the endings where zero at least makes it to sigma. Therefor either beating with X or Zero himself up the that point. I’ve never gotten the ending where zero is unplayable throughout the virus stages
This is E3_007. I approve this song.
este si esta bueno 5/5

I like this one more than X's opening stage.
