    pull is a good defense against the right hand cause you can see it coming but remember guys. its very likely that your opponents continues with the left hook. it doesnt have to land. Kind of like Aldo went against Conor. the left hand most likely lands on the shoulder but more importantly he is leaning to his right moving with your right hand so it doesnt have to do much damage if you target the chin. I recommend you target behind the ear if you have really good accuracy. dont close your eyes and watch your target guys, good luck. good video Shane

    Hey, sHANE! great video but could you make a video on how to not be worried about getting hit and pressure more. Like for me, I tend to back up too much and try to counter punch instead of keeping my guard up and moving in, closing the distance. I mean i dont know if its just me but im SURE there is other people like that out there. But what i mean is I always just move back and drop my left arm down and keep my right up, kind of like the philly shell stance, but i back up too much and if i dont i just try to slip. anyways it DOES help not getting hit of course, but its bad because i myself hardly land and its like nothing gets done. i want to be able to focus and move in and trade but still fight smart. sorry if it was confusing but i hope you know what i meant. Thanks!

      Fxhad__ yeah take up kickboxing or Mma,way more tools to defend yourself with,more enjoyable,boxing going to be punched a lot in the face because have to fight close range,

    • @Leonardo-du8tk
      @Leonardo-du8tk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Fxhad__ breathe, don't eat anything that 3 hours before training, use comfort clothing and keep you're chin tuck and never leave your mouth open

    • @thomashanham723
      @thomashanham723 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fxhad__ breathing is important! Remember to exhale sharply every time you punch. Keep calm, remember your footwork, don't leave your chin hanging, and don't be afraid of getting hit. Also, remember it's just sparring, don't go looking for a war and get carried away. So yeah, breath, keep calm, remember the basics, and try to improve!

  • @frabzfrabz9294
    @frabzfrabz9294 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Probably wont read this because it isnt a top comment, but Shane I am Right Handed and Left Footed, does that give me an indication that I should be fighting in a Southpaw and an Orhtodoz stance or what? You’ve been a coach for so long you must of come across people like me. What is your advice on boxers who are left footed and right handed?

    • @Eralen00
      @Eralen00 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not a coach but i think you should do what feels better and more natural for you. Try both but pick one and stick with it so you can work on it. Right handed people usually fight orthodox because usually they're stronger and more accurate on their dominant hand, so they can get more power on their right hand. But Bruce Lee had the opposite philosophy. He was right handed and fought Southpaw, for the opposite reason, he wanted his power strikes to be faster.

    • @FFacuri
      @FFacuri 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am in the same situation and I always use Orthodox because I do boxing, as it let your liver far from your opponent, and still can use your dominant hand to the fullest. And if you use kicks too, you'll have stronger kicks from your front leg which is closer to the opponent

    • @frabzfrabz9294
      @frabzfrabz9294 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      IRAD MAC ahh im a boxer, so i dont kick, does anything change or still the same advice?

    • @FFacuri
      @FFacuri 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Blind Frog Like I Said, with orthodox stance your liver is harder to hit than with southpaw stance, and your punches with your dominant hand will be stronger too. So basically the same advice

    • @chivondolo
      @chivondolo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blind Frog Fight as orthodox. I'm the other way. Left handed but right footer. I do Krav Maga and MMA, I train both stance but still feel more comfortable sparring as a Southpaw. In a real fight I will definitely be as a Southpaw also.
