This movie has the honor of being the final film from director Bob Clark, the final live action performance from Pat Morita before his death, and the first movie that Jon Voight did after he officially divorced from sanity.
If we're going by release dates, Baby Geniuses 2 would technically be his final film since that came out a few months after Karate Dog. Still sad either way though.
@@michaelstrong5383 Yeah, I'm not sure how that works, since KARATE DOG first hit DVD in 2005, a year after BABY GENIUSES 2, and I'm not sure who would've seen it around the time of the May 2004 theatrical date listed on Wikipedia. If you’re thinking this is one of those “embarrassing last role” things for Pat Morita, it wasn’t. One of his last roles was actually as a guest-villain on SpongeBob, with the episode being dedicated to him. There, he plays an evil karate master named Master Udon, who kidnaps SpongeBob so he can get him to buy a timeshare condo, so Sandy has to dress up as Uma Thurman from Kill Bill and save him! It’s a pretty funny episode XD
This film was directed by Bob Clark, the same guy who worked on the original Black Christmas, Porky's, and A Christmas Story. Between this and both Baby Geniuses films, the 90's and 2000's all went downhill from there.
Yeah and bob clark was actually going to make a direct sequel to the original black Christmas and that was supposed to be his comeback but sadly bob clark got hit by a drunk driver and dead
A damn shame, considering that the first KARATE KID got him an Oscar nomination. And if you watch his stand up from the 60s, the dude had so much talent. But those were the days when Hollywood had Asian actors sticking to the stereotypes, and they couldn't say anything about it without risking their employment.
Billy reaction laugh especially when it get louder 😂( make you laugh too😆) & mix with Corey laugh & smart mouth comments & Martin lay back mellow smart comments. These combo is the funniest and make bad movies reviews the best and I look forward to their other bad reviews!!!
It’s like the script of this film was the first draft of that Chuck Norris movie, “Top Dog” and someone decided to revisit it now that they had access to better CG technology, but then still chose to use outdated tech from several years before they started making the film, and I’m convinced Chevy Chase was only hired due to his voicing of Benji
He goes hard. I think he was at the point of his career when he realized that these are the only roles he’s gonna get, so might as well earn the check.
It's like they took the CG talking dog from that Anti-Drug PSA, got Hollyweird levels of coked out with the producers and thought it'd be a good idea to greenlight a feature length of it doing karate while somehow convoluting a way to work Pat Morita and Jon Voight into the script... BTW, you guys REALLY should do a bad movie review of "A Talking Cat!?!" I mean, I know there are several other reviews of it but this one would have Billy busting up like crazy guaranteed. Christopher Walken, too.
