Stevie Ray & Jeff Healey, RIP to both, Jeff being blind was amazing but both were Great Guitarists and Stevie found Jeff. Tommy Shannon (78) was on Bass & Chris Layton (68) on Drums, if you want to see Stevies flawless Guitar change in the middle of "Little Sister" live Austin City Limits 1989
Shon thank you! Died and went to blues guitar heaveen man! Someday please do jeff healy "As The Years Go Passing By." You won't belive the guitar break on that number.
@@rebeccamcvey8600 Girl, my DVD got destroyed a few weeks ago. I went to pull a Johnny Winter CD from between a Ryan Upchurch CD and a Janis Joplin's CD and the Albert King CD hit the floor and broke into three pieces. I'm devastated LOL
Try one of Stevie Ray Vaughan's live versions of Couldn't Stand the Weather. Unbelievable. For Jeff, his 1995 live performance in Germany of As the Years Go Passing By is unforgettable, bluesy and raw.
Stevie... I only got to see him in concert once, Sacramento, CA, 1981,82? Ended set with Voodoo Child, he was/ is my favorite guitarist,...not familiar with Jeff Healey, I am now, thanks for that! Someone mentioned SRV in session with Albert King 💙?, Born Under A Bad Sign & Don't Lie To Me.... 💙 💙 💙 SRV & Double Trouble, best concert ever...hope you feel better soon & thanks again.
I loved what you said about the guitar becoming an extension of the person playing. You are absolutely right when it comes to SRV. When he and Jimmy were growing up, he would actually sneak into Jimmy's room, grab his guitar and hide in the closet to play it. I think there are some people that are just destined to be amazing at certain things and SRV was definitely destined to be the guitar god that he was.
I agree with that! Some people are literally BORN to be great at a particular thing. One of my Nephews has been keeping a beat since before he could speak. The kid would drum on anything available. By the time he was five, he was a brilliant drummer already!! It was SO COOL watching him develop his obsession!! 🥰❤️🔥
I never saw him live, but I did play his music on my college radio blues show. Sadly, I was there when the crash happened and announced his passing on the air.
When stevies guitar starts to wail there's no denying who's playing, such a unique true sound. There are many guitar players with there own sound but Stevie on another level. If you want to hear another side of Stevie listen to life by the drop, very beautiful
Damn,. Shon! Right? Jeff was so amazing.jumping up with no strap (and no vision) and SRV always so generous sharing the spotlight! Miss them both! appreciate your reaction!
Both awesome players! Enjoyed your enthusiasm. Appreciating the guitar is just about learning it's language, the more you listen the more you hear the stuff you missed early on. When I was a keyboard player in my teens I looked down on guitar, but now it's completely switched. There's so much organic voice to the guitar, so much you can do with it. Another blind guitarist, criminally underrated and practically unknown is Hiroaki Tagawa, plays the same as Healy with the hand over the neck instead of under. Worth looking him up, especially the songs performed live with drummer Senri Kawaguchi. High end stuff. Great reaction man!!
Now To Complete , Ur JEFF HEALEY "AUDIO JOURNEY", DO , IAN GILLAN AND JEFF DUETING, ON "WHEN A BLINDMAN CRYS"!! AMAZIN' And Heartbreakin', All In One, Classic Rock, Magical Moment!!.. 😁🎸🎶🎵🎶 🎵 👍 😎 🙂🤘
*Not knowing Jeff was blind is understandable* After briefly speaking with Jeff in a bar on Vancouver Island, Canada I still hadn't realized he was blind; and Jeff knew I didn't so he had fun messing with me. It wasn't until noticing his band mates smirking at me from behind him that tipped me off.
Jeff played the guitar in his lap because when he got it he was only three and he was too little to reach the strings. Two amazing legends gone too soon. If you want to see some more amazing guitar work please check out Rush Working Man live in Cleveland. Cheers
SRV is what brought me too your channel! Would you react to SRV's...Ain't Gon Give Up On Love and Change It both live at The Capitol Theatre please ✌️💞
Also check out Summer Time Blues by Eddie Cochran. He died in 1959 in car crash in England. Gene Vincent was in car also but survived with badly broken leg. These men were in the early days of rock and roll. SummerTime Blues.
Like Jimmy Hendrix, Jimmy just flipped the right handed guitar over and played it backwards with the high strings and the low string opposite. Self Taught! Extension of the soul.
SRV grew up in Oak Cliff. South side of Dallas. He sat on many black folks porches and learn from a lot of black people that knew how to play the guitar.
And BOTH of them have left us. So damn sad. RIP to 2 great blues guitarists/singers.
It's crazy for me to see this with these two legends gone. But we're lucky to have this
R.I.P. Jeff and Srv… 2 of the very best! Gone way to soon❤️🎸

Jeff Healy was used to braille. Playing and interacting with the guitar like as if it were in braille... brilliant and very natural for him.
Stevies way of playing is so recognizable, an absolute master of his instrument
Two GOATS who should still be with us creating amazing music. Miss the days of real musicians and raw vocals.
Amen
Shon thank you! Died and went to blues guitar heaveen man! Someday please do jeff healy "As The Years Go Passing By." You won't belive the guitar break on that number.
theres video of a live in studio performance of STEVIE playing w/ one of his guitar heroes for the 1st time ALBERT KING that is simply amazing

They need to remaster this and raise the volume, such an amazing performance
These guys are rocking the roots off all the trees in the neighborhood!!!
Have you seen Sound Check by SRV yet? Absolutely the smoothest “outfit”. He sure knew how to dress. And the Sound Check is amazing! Swagger 🔥
Dude, I love that soundcheck video. It's better than some full concerts I've been to 😅

As the years go passing by, should be next on your Jeff Healey rabbit hole.
Jeff also played with the great BB King. BB called Jeff his Canadian son.
Jeff shredded the best 🌞

I saw them tour together on Stevie‘s last tour. In fact, I saw them the night before he died. Awesome.

Can you imagine seeing this live? Wow!
12 bar blues with two masters. I't s a beautiful thing.
I could not agree more!
May they rest in peace.. excellent and authentic reaction, much appreciated.
Jeff is the blind white ray charles on the fret board, then you throw in the undisputed SRV !
It’s going to be legendary!
Look up, Texas Hill- easy on the eyes!!! It’s a good one!!!!
Amazing talents!!
Miss them

Must be hard playing when your blind...
Awesome...!!!
I've been recommending that you watch SRV Austin City Limits live 1989. LOOK AT LITTLE SISTER. Don't want to ruin the surprise.
Gone too soon R.I.P. great performance
You have to watch SRV with Albert King and BB King. BB King asked SRV why do you look at me while you olay.
Check out SRV the cover of Voo doo child
Just IMAGINE the jam in Heaven right now
If I remember correctly that was on Saturdsy Night Live.
If you want a killer guitar solo, watch "Mean Town Blues" by Johnny Winter, live at Woodstock.
Damn…..❤
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
good video !!!
❤❤❤
SRV discovered Jeff Healey
It wouldn't matter if Jeff had his eyes open or closed. He's blind.😮
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥🎸
At the beginning of the song, Stevie is playing rhythm & Jeff is playing the cool licks in the background...Both gone way too soon!
Stevie Ray discovered Jeff. Stevie had to tighten up hus chops on this one and he borrowed one of Jeff's moves in this
SRV in his pimp outfit.
♥
Jeff Healy was blind thats why he played that way.
Other musicians with Jeff sand should we let him know that he's holding the guitar wrong.
I can see and can't play 😕
Reverend!!!
You M7ST CHECK OUT 'SEE THE LIGHT'ive byJeff Healy
He already has.
and the guitar is turned upside down
Ha not knowing SRV. Pride and Joy.
Future choice should be Jeff Beck for really great guitar work.
Try bto
Jeff plays the guitar on his lap is because he is blind
❤
