So unless you’re recording you don’t need the DI box. You can plug directly into the amp. Everything time you break up the guitar signal either with foot pedals or what have you, you lose some tone. Limit your connections. No worries everything comes with time.

It depends on what there doing, a DI is used with a mixer, that they didn’t show, it turns a high impedance signal into a low impedance signal.

​@@Asimo44when my band does rehearsals, we also record our rehearsals. I use both DIs and miked amps. I use all the recordings to practice mixing and use the DI tracks to get the best possible guitar sound.
It's honestly great if you're practicing mixing.

What's the point of the DI in this setup? I don't use them very often and was wondering. It's basically bypassing the amp altogether. So if they're sending a DI signal to a mixer then wouldn't it just be a unprocessed guitar sound, and why would you want that sound?

ReAmping. Basically capture the dry signal for it to be reAmped in case you don't like the captured tone. You can also run the dry tone through amp sims as well.
