Thanks for the kind words. Had a great time working on that one. Good to see people finding it again. Funny story, we were working on the combat system the year before Arkham came out and when it dropped we realized how similar it was, but just went ahead anyway. I actually got a chance to talk to Sefton about it at E3 and apologized for the coincidence. Biggest difference is that Arkham's system is contextual to how many hits Batman has done, and our system is based on the current state of the enemy Cap is hitting. But otherwise, yeah, it's very similar and we definitely took inspiration as we kept building it out.
Captain America: Super Soldier is an engaging game that captures the essence of the iconic superhero. While not flawless, its strong points, including the immersive combat system and faithful representation of Captain America's abilities, make it thoroughly enjoyable. The game's imperfections are easily overlooked when considering the overall experience, and your fondness for it despite its flaws speaks to its lasting appeal. As a Captain America fan, this game stands out as the best representation we've received. It adeptly captures the essence of the iconic superhero, making it a highly satisfying experience despite its imperfections.
This game is incredible,it's just a shame it didn't have the Red Skull as the final boss and yes Arnin Zola was the main villain of this game Which is cool, I liked Arnin Zola's version but it's a shame that the red skull wasn't used much and there wasn't even Baron Zemo as one of the villains in the game but there's an Easter egg/Reference to him And also many villains escape, giving the possibility of a sequel that never came... and will never happen It's really a shame and a pain in my heart 🤔🥺🤧 like and Bye!
I used to have this game back when I had a PS3 and I have enjoyed CA: Super Soldier as much as Iron Man and Hulk (PS2). Plus it felt like a extra part of CA: The First Avenger film with the direction which has set up for Winter Soldier. Also the introduction of Madam Hydra, Von Strucker, Farnsworth as a potential Captain Britian towards the end.
This was easily one of my favourite ps3 games. Yeah it has flaws but at the same time you felt like cap. Still play it today! Now looking forward to Marvels 1943: the rise of hydra!
The game clearly utilized Strucker as more than just a plot device to be killed off 5 seconds after he actually appeared. It's obvious which is the superior version.
Am I crazy or is the wii version a completely different game? I didn’t recognize any of the footage in the video despite remembering it fondly on the wii.
Yeah, that's one I'd like to take a look at in the future because the Wii version is entirely different. It's pretty much a unique game. Actually, that one looks more like a cartoon-based game.
@@DegenerateJay yeah I think it was a little more flexible with the physics. I think you could like target three things with your shield and then it would bounce between them
That's how it usually went, the 360 and PS3 would get a big new game that literally could not be handled by the Wii and PS2 but the publishers still wanted it on those systems, so they used to make entirely different games under the same name for the underpowered hardware, and they typically end up being regarded as, more or less, a lobotomized version of what hit the 360 and PS3 and usually notorious motion control sloots when they came to the Wii.
Never got the chance to play this. But it looks like it was similar to what The Punisher PS2 did. That game was loosely based on the movie (Thomas Jane) and was great.
Yea i just bought it for like $12 on OfferUp and I beat it today and I really enjoyed it. Combat is the best part and the parkour is fun too. Can even unlock different costumes. Definitely an underrated game
Yeah it's pretty good for a game at least kind of based off a movie. It shows they could have done even better ones if Marvel hadn't just stopped at the time.
Sometimes, a game doesn't have to be amazing, but it's still damn good. Ghost Rider PS2 or The Punisher games were awesome playing back to back last year. I'm slowly working on Constantine, and hopefully, eventually, this and Xmen Origins Wolverine
I do wish that Cap got his own game, it seems like a possible game to actually make. This like the other comment, was my FIRST hero game (outside Raimi Spider-Man games)
After the wolverine game from insomniac & Iron man from EA motive release, I hope one of them or someone else tackles a Captain America game cause it has potential especially with messing around with the shield mechanics.
I love this game on the xbox 360 so when i got round to buying a ps3 i got it as well. The ps3 version isn't as nice to play as the 360 version, it just feels a bit laggy and sometimes unresponsive to me.
I've always heard about and seen gameplay on this game before, but I never got around to playing it. I kinda want to now. Yeah, the frame rate looks really bad, but still, I wanna try it out for myself.
Wish I tried it ngl, it looks cool. I never had a PS3 or Xbox as a kid so I didnt exactly get the chance to sadly. I think there is a new Captain America game in the works now so I hope that one ends up being good.
the graphics somehow still look better than walking dead destinies lol
Poor Walking Dead - they get top tier shows but trash tier games...
@@teezoowazoo7272Yeah they got telltale and then… a lot of trash

They really were trying to expand the movie lore. Gotta give them props for that. It also put some wind in Sega's sales so that's nice
The vibes are immaculate with this music
I love this game and I’m so glad you did a video on it, it definitely deserves more credit than it’s given
I would recommend taking a look at the Wii version at some point. It has a totally different art style and it's kinda cool.

Great video Jay and I remember this game being very good and hope someday we get a another cap American game
@@NadeemShekh-uy9zn right I forgot about that game coming out thank you for reminding me

I had this on 360 and barely played it 😂
I really wanna see Jay cover and talk about the X-Men Origins Wolverine game.
I love that game and will definitely make videos about it in the future! Thank you for the idea! I appreciate you!!
I remember playing the Wii version and having a lot of fun with it
I've been looking forward to this video for a long time. I thought you forgot about the games you forgot about series unironically hahaha

Love Games You Forgot About. Rejected media is also great so I'm excited for that. There's way too many cancelled games.
Never got the chance to play this. But it looks like it was similar to what The Punisher PS2 did. That game was loosely based on the movie (Thomas Jane) and was great.
This was a good game along with Thor for the PS3
I also thought the Green Lantern Xbox 360 game was a bit underrated
fr
Nah thor is straight doodoo but this one is good
will this EVER get a reboot/sequel?
This game was cool, probably the best of the mcu games
Y'know I used to clown on this game when it first released but now I'm thinking I might've seriously missed out on something fun
Yea i just bought it for like $12 on OfferUp and I beat it today and I really enjoyed it. Combat is the best part and the parkour is fun too. Can even unlock different costumes. Definitely an underrated game
Such a good game, don't know how people could forget about it, including myself.
I wish I played it.
Can you do a video of all the games that are like Batman Arkham??
For what it is, this game did make me realize that Captain America is my favorite out of the main Avengers. So there's that.
I brought a pirate copy of this game for my 360 years ago... it never worked 😢
I love this game, I never finished it cause I was like 10 when it came out
I remember playing the wii version of this Captain America game when I was little.
One thing: Cap feels better in 2011 tie-in game, than in 2020 AAA disaster
The challenge modes were excellent you could have a bunch of enemy types including Arnim Zola!!
Like to see a re-release/remaster!!!!
A switch port of this game would fuck hard
Duuuude this game was sick for the day, ngl

Coming from a guy who doesn't like Captain America, and Marvel as a whole (I do like Wolverine, and SOME Spiderman stuff) , this looks fun.
I do wish that Cap got his own game, it seems like a possible game to actually make. This like the other comment, was my FIRST hero game (outside Raimi Spider-Man games)
i havent forgot neither this or thor’s game, i just cant find them on sale for a reasonable price 😂😂
After the wolverine game from insomniac & Iron man from EA motive release, I hope one of them or someone else tackles a Captain America game cause it has potential especially with messing around with the shield mechanics.
I would play it and keep it canon and say that the Baron we see in Age of Ultron is a decendant of this guy. That's just me though
I remember enjoying this game as a kid
Yeah i remember watching this game it was fun
You should check out the first Ironman Gamn for the 360 and the Hulk game also for the 360 both excellent games and very underrated.
Just finished the game man what a time
I loved this game on 360 still have the case but can’t find the disc
its kind of hard to find now
Games you forgot about, Lord of the Rings: War of the North.

can i play this on the ps5????
Wish I tried it ngl, it looks cool. I never had a PS3 or Xbox as a kid so I didnt exactly get the chance to sadly. I think there is a new Captain America game in the works now so I hope that one ends up being good.
Yeah it's one with Cap and Black Panther. I think Amy Hennig is involved who was responsible for a lot of Uncharted's success.
Forgot? I never even heard of it :O
What if you made a video about JFK simulator.
MindJack
Perfect cap game
Throwing the shield around like a maniac is just addicting to me lol
😭Warms my heart.

The Loki references made me smile
I remember I genuinely really loved this game when it came out since I really liked the captain america movie. 11 year old me loved this
Great video I love this series
