Love that Chris Evans actually played the game and liked the fluid acrobatic combat so much that he asked if they could adapt something similar in The Winter Soldier
Dude. THANK YOU for the fair and balanced retro-review. It's been many years, but I remember that we all put our heart and soul into that one. Glad you enjoyed. You put a smile on my face. I've subbed and if you ever are going to stream that baby, I'd love to be in the audience.
From what I was able to gather, you were the creative director for Super Soldier, correct? You know, I when I started doing game reviews I always wondered if I would make a video that got seen by someone who worked on the project, and I'm glad the first time was a positive one haha My sincere love and respect to your entire team from the time. Really glad you enjoyed the video and I absolutely enjoyed the game! I always hope that my criticism is seen more as entertainment than any ill will and in this case, as a highlight to a product I was truly impressed by and would love to see more people play. And as a matter of fact, I'm hoping to stream this sometime in the next few months! I hope to see you there!
Yup. It was my first title as a Director too. It was an amazing team to work with. I realized after the fact that I think we were the last of the "official movie tie-in" games for consoles. You were much kinder than the media of the time. 😂 I think everyone was pretty burned out on movie games. I'm super stoked you enjoyed the writing too, I pushed hard to not do Skull as the direct antagonist. I wanted the game to act as an "additional" chapter in the movie instead of just following it. (Zola is my favorite in the rogues gallery.) I'd love to watch the stream. I've got plenty of stories from behind the scenes that I'm sure it's okay for me to share now if you want to hear 'em. Hehehe.
Dang I really wish they could remaster this game and lock it at 60fps. I platinumed it and would gladly buy it again if it was re-released. I suppose the chances of that happening are slim though huh?
@@HammerBlow666 I know! I wish. I'd love that too. Chances are pretty much nil. It was a proprietary engine from 2 generations of hardware ago. I think the best bet at this point to get a higher framerate / resolution version is going to be individual hobbyist emulation.
@@RebelAtH3art Right. Unfortunately I never got into PC gaming and know nothing about emulation (nothing against PC gaming I just never got into it). And since emulation isn't perfect there's usually more glitches/bugs/crashes than the original, which I'm never a fan of. Well, at least I can still play it on my PS3. Thank you for your effort on the game!
Hey! You showed up on my phone and I was like "Hey, it's Wayne!" And btw Captain America: The First Avenger was also my favorite of the Cap films. I'm glad to see you're doing well, man! Love the vid! This is Joel btw. *I went to college with this guy*
I gotta say after playing this the last few days now it's a really good game........... besides the frame rate it's a hidden gem......I wish we could get another solo captain america game like this.......this game is better then the new marvel avengers game.......super soldier was made in 2011 and has ragdoll physics so why doesn't a game made in 2020 have that simple feature that really makes a game greater and funner to play
Not out of the question! I would really like to take a crack at the Batman games and that might be a good time to do it, but I'll have to wait and see how my schedule lines up for it!
Fun review. Such a great game from a dev that needed to get MCU games on the right footing. It holds up well to me, but you mention framerate and it does seem like old film footage clunkely going thru a projector.
Not quite, it was actually supposed to buildup to the Avengers but sadly I missed the deadline. Still might try to do something special for Miles though if I can think of something relevant!
Might not be that bad but it's also not particularly great. Certainly doesn't live up to its potential and could have or rather, should have been better.
No lie, I'd love to see a remaster of this game. Especially if they can nail a visual style with the lighting and textures that falls in line with old 1940s war propaganda and a couple extra bells and whistles to movement control

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow really is a fun movie. It feels more like a Comic Book Movie than anything from the MCU.
You made me go down a huge nostalgia trip I love you man

This is Joel btw.
*I went to college with this guy*
The ps3 had some solid hero games
Wolverine
Web of shadows
Shattered dimensions
Edge of time
Captain America
Deadpool
Batman

First Avenger is my favorite original MCU movie, and top 5 in general.
Definitely one of my most favorite video games ever! Great review!
I used to have this game on 360 actually thought it was pretty fun
It's a pretty solid game! Best one out of the Sega Marvel games for sure!
7:35 batman???? Haha
Great video man and yeah I remember it being the decent MCU game haha
Just found your channel, love the content keep it up
Captain America ss is actually pretty fun
I really think Insomniac would nail a captain America game!
Sega and marvel stop being babies and let this game be backwards compatible on the Series X. It deserves the frame rate boost
Hey could you do a marathon of Batman games leading up to the new Gotham Knights game when it comes out please.
Not out of the question! I would really like to take a crack at the Batman games and that might be a good time to do it, but I'll have to wait and see how my schedule lines up for it!
@@Wayneisboss okay take your time.

I loved this game
3:47 that does not look like captain america
Will you be playing spider-man miles morales on the ps4 or the ps5?
Already got my preorder down for the PS5, might do a stream of my first impressions of Miles Morales!
Well, if one of them was going to be good, at least it was the Cap game.
I have this game. But not long after I completed it, my 360 red circled. I have an Xbox One, but it’s not compatible! I miss this game so much!! 😭
Is this marathon build up for Miles Morales?🤔🗿
Not quite, it was actually supposed to buildup to the Avengers but sadly I missed the deadline. Still might try to do something special for Miles though if I can think of something relevant!
I actually have the platnium for this game
I played through it at least 5 times
There actually are a couple of websites for this game and a pc port of it but idk which website is the best
How it wasn’t released for pc
I fell asleep both times I tried to watch the movie, lets hope the game doesn't do the same thing to me when I play it XD
Didn't know you could wield the mjolnir !!
Ok.
still can't believe they made a captain britain lol
Can you do the bad dc games
I find your lack of views offensive.
Oh come on marvel's avengers isn't that bad of a game
Might not be that bad but it's also not particularly great. Certainly doesn't live up to its potential and could have or rather, should have been better.
if you slap a coat of cel-shading on this it would probably hold up ok
