Training part: In kargil most of the excellent performer were young soldiers and young officers hardly with 2 to 3 years of service. So training and performance is not an issue. Motivation: No soldier fight with future in mind and get ready to risk his life thinking about permanent job or money. That doesn't happens in battle field. Once regimental values are instilled its all about Naam Namak Nishan. Issue with Agniveer: Treatment of martyr and handicapped soldiers for benefits should be at par with permanent soldiers. This need to be worked upon. Chances of unhealthy competition: Maj Gen has exactly pointed out the issue. Post job employment: This need to be clear path for post army culture. Importance of Agniveer: As the mordern hybrid warfare threat is now evident and Ukraine and Israel conflict showing need for larger reserve .... It is now becoming more important that there should be large pool of trained manpower available to form the reserves for army in time of war. Neither it is practical to keep a huge standing army all the time nor it is should be like ukraine were completely untrained civilians were given few hours of training and were thrown into war. There should be some kind conscription system. Agniveer seems to be good solution provided all lacking are sorted out ..but civilian reserve should also be considered and not like territorial army were there are lots constraints.

*Faulty thought process* The General sahab is not considering the Combat angle. M not bothered what is the ex Agniveer going to do post Army tenure..m concerned about what is he going to do, how is he going to perform in Combat scenario..!!! Agniveer wd definetely not perform or be willing to perform during actual combat scenario as a regular soldier. Its human angle and any sane person will understand the reason. Military is not a testing ground...soldiers are Not guinea pigs..! All these experimentation cannot be done with the military when we have two big hostile neighbours. *STUPIDEST AND MOST IDIOTIC scheme...!!*
