@Ryan Holt I am sure she had her suspicions, but suspicions don't bring home the victories. It would be difficult to accept that the Master who you fought beside for so many years had become something so cold and evil. Makes their confrontation later all the more gripping, especially with what we were led to believe happened from it. Rebels had fantastic season endings.

Yeah and also probably reaching out for him through the force trying to find him, she never forgot anakin and she is like the last person other than obi wan who remembers anakin skywalker and not darth vader, she is anakins legacy she gives all her thanks to anakin and in retern she keeps his memory alive, which is why vader wanted to kill ahsoka quickly or atleast turn her since she represents anakin skywalker, to darth vader she is what anakin left behind. Vader thought she was the last person that had anakins memory so by destroying her anakin would die completely, but she survived and the anakin still in vader starts to fight back, and when Luke is confirmed his son anakin gains more hope and starts fighting back harder than ever before, and when luke turned down vader, anakin returned and greatly started to win his eternal battle with vader and in ROTJ anakin had won.
I'm watching the clone wars for the first time these days and I can finally relate to this Anakin-Ahsoka angst that fans like you've gone through. It is haunting. I know I'll bawl during the final episodes...I cried watching clips of their duel in rebels :|
I've been a huge fan of SW since the 80s, and I still have to say that Vader is still my favorite, however Ahsoka's story means so much to so many folks it's hard not to say she's one of the best characters ever.
Jester3 see, I always though Ahsoka was the audience character. She was the kid for all the children watching the experience TCW through. Other than that, her story was mind numbingly dumb. Not that I don't find her interesting, and I would love to see her appear in a love action movie, but, she doesn't serve any real purpose to the story. The prequels hardly added any depth to Anakin's story and Ahsoka was just shoed in after the six saga films we're complete, leaving her no real place in the story. So, best character list? I don't personally think so. Her depth was all her own, almost as if George was so sick of the bitching in 2008 about how bad the prequels Anakin was, that he decided to add an innocent, Luke Skywalker like character into the mix to recapture the magic. Although, her calmness and approach in Rebels are what they should have modelled Luke after in the new movies and the fact that they didn't is down right embarrassing to the franchise. I guess the only really great characters we'll ever have are from the original three.
@@jamessteiniger7016 So you don't think she is a great character because she wasn't in the movies? That's litterely what you wrote. Yikes, just because she wasn't in the main plot line doesn't mean that she was none existent, she had her own plot line and if you consider the 2008 clone wars to be cannon (which it factualy is) she had a big impact on the war and many of the characters in the third movie She had a huge impact on the clone wars and Anikin as a person and made his fall seem a lot more belivable. In the context of Star wars movies and tvshows/cartoons, there is not a single character better writen then her Saying that her story was "mind numingly dumb" because it didn't have impact, quite litterely ignores that her entie plot points have HAD a HUGE impact and have served as a big build up to other characters
@@Liamnerfdude1 She is that good, extremly well writen, good character arcs, well developed and important. You can't just write "NoT tHaT gOoD" that's not an argument. Overall, she is a great character and there are no valid arguments against that
For those of you who aren't familiar why she recalls the last time she saw him. TCW was indeed cancelled but the concepts that weren't made into episodes in time are still considered canon. That being said Seige of Mandalore is an episode that wasn't showed but the concept is: Obi wan, Anakin are sent to Mandalore to deal with Maul, Ashoka also comes along reuniting with her former masters, until Anakin and Obi wan are called to save the chancellor from being held captive by Dooku. (The events of episode 3 happen) meanwhile Ashoka is left to deal with Maul alone, after basically having Maul beat, his defeat is short lived since Order 66 is executed causing Ashoka and Rex as well as Maul to go into hiding and part ways.
Yes.. Rex removed his chip which the other clones noticed and they turned on him when he didn't execute order 66. Ahsoka had Maul cornered but she had to choose between capturing him and saving Rex. So she went to save Rex and Maul escaped once more.. That's why Maul says "Running away again, Lady Tano?" when they fight on Malachor.. Would've loved to see the 6th season of the Clone Wars..
Lol, I remember the original clone wars. Where grievous captured the chancellor and how he nearly killed shock tee and how mace windu was the reason he coughed in the beginning of episode 3. Ah good times.
I love how Ashoka remember Anakin... she knew his soft side, his inner self, the Anakin who smiled, the Anakin who cared deeply... when she said "People would be surprised by how kind he was" I believed I got goosepumps. Many people never knew that Anakin. Including us...
+pikppa The relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka is one of my favorite things about the Star Wars extended universe. I once thought that giving Anakin a "plucky young sidekick" of sorts was a bad idea, just a marketing ploy for young viewers, but seeing her develop as a Jedi, and seeing their relationship change from hero/sidekick to near-equals with a sibling bond was one of the things continually pulling me into the Clone Wars TV series. And when she was framed for a crime and left the Jedi Order, that scene ending "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" darn-near broke my heart.
Gotta give him some slack. He was being trained by a Padawan. One thing I like about Rebels is how you can see Kanan still behave like one through the first two seasons. He might have matured as an adult, he didn't mature as a Jedi. Losing your Master at an early age can do that. But he did finally mature as a Jedi with the tutelage of The Bendu. (Another fantastic part of the show. I could listen to Tom Baker voice act for hours.)
Ahsoka: "The last time I saw him, he was rushing off..." Me, finishing her sentence: "...to keep me from leaving the Order." Ahsoka: "...to save the Chancellor." Me: "Wait, what?"
IKR wait you know what ima sing a little song WHY YOU LYING WHY YA GOTTA BE LYINH OH MY GPD STOP FUCKING LIYING XD(But srsly why did you lie to ezra and us?)
+vulcanhumor She saw Anakin before he and Obi Wan boarded General Grievous' ship at the start of Episode III. There was going to be 12 Ahsoka clone wars episodes after she left the Jedi order explaining this and the Siege of Mandolore, but you know... Disney.
***** Beats me. Considering they had Season 6 and 7 scripted, they could release the scripts - I'd be happy with that - but I'm not sure what they plan on doing.
LoneWolfAlpha oh please a Masterpiece, look I can understand that, I like the show too but why is it not in order ? It's like making a book series but its not in order, rebels on the other hand is in order, look I'm sorry I couldn't understand that ?
Nathan Jones it is so true , but it is kind of ironic because most people say that the prequels were so much worse than the originals, and the everyone says that the clone wars was amazing and that rebels is awful.
NO! this was never matt lanter's voice. It was hayden's en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayden_Christensen or just check in his filmography. 2018 starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Hayden_Christensen
Cornelius Kingsley Nope its a mix of James Earl Jones and Matt Lanter, I want nothing more than to see Hayden in a movie or tv show like the new Obi wan show favourite character 😩
1:26 “The last time I saw him, he was rushing off to save the Chancellor.” I never thought WE would get too see that scene and episode that she was talking about. Now we finally did. Clone wars Season 7 Episode 9 hands down one of the best if not THE best Episode in the Clone Wars Series. Can’t wait too see what happens next week! Episode 10 is going to be DARK I can already feel it.
Concept artist : Do you want the anakin looks like from Clone Wars? Disney : no Modelers : man i prefer anakin cw,but modeling slightly simpler things is so helpfull
Don't forget: In Episode III Anakin fought Cin Drallig-- the Jedi Master in charge of teaching lightsaber combat and who was a master in all seven forms-- along with two of his apprentices, in a 3-on-1 fight... and Anakin killed them. He was just that damn good.
SoldierGeneral64 Pretty much every hero and villain in this series has plot armor until the plot takes it away. Plot armor allowed Obi-Wan to beat Darth Maul, allowed Dooku to beat Obi-Wan and Anakin and survive Yoda, allowed Palpatine to fight four Jedi and live, plot armor allowed Obi-Wan and Yoda to survive Order 66, etc.
+Himson Li exactly, we know for a fact not all the Jedi masters were killed near the beginning of the empire. If yoda had gone around looking for survivors he could use obi wan as bait and when Vader comes to battle obi wan, Jedi masters rush him from all corners and then dead, no more Vader.
Why would they??? they have a different style, it would weird to have the sharp angled face of clone wars instead of the round more realistic ones of rebels. It takes time getting used to it but the clone wars faces looked weird now that I look back, as if the character were wooden puppets.
Looking back, Clone Wars is still superior for me. Rebels has barely any detail and everyone looks plastic. The only character who looks good in the Rebels art style is Ahsoka.
GameJump3RZ He killed some, Mace wasn’t really his friend and neither was most of the council. Obi-Wan, he killed. Padme, he didn’t really. If you count 3PO and R2D2, then he also didn’t kill those two. He killed Palpatine, eventually. So Yeah a little depressing.
“The last time I saw him, he was rushing off to save the Chancellor” That story is about to be told for real on April 17th on Disney+ “Old Friends Not Forgotten”
Anakin was a famous war hero. I am sure 80% to 100% of the population on Coruscant saw him rush off to save the Chancellor. Ahsoka was probably watching the holonet and kicking herself saying "I should be there right now !"
***** Coruscant was under attack, and all planetary forces were mobilized. Every Jedi, Clone, and Law Enforcement was defending the city planet. Then the "President of the entire Galaxy", The Chancellor is kidnapped. I assure you, the News Coverage was insane, the ratings were through the roof, and now suddenly, here walks in Anakin Skywalker the flashiest of the Jedi, is sent to rescue the Chancellor Palptine. Yes, I am pretty sure in all the chaos while probably trying to defend the planet herself, Ahsoka looked to her left or to her right and saw news coverage of Anakin. Anakin becoming Darth Vader was several weeks or months later. As General Grevious had not even been located yet in the Outer Rim by Obi Wan Kenobi.
+TheTruthIsGonnaHurt it might have been months. Considering how at he beginning of the movie Padme told Anakin she was pregnant, and by the end of the movie she gave birth to Luke and Leia.
+johng813 I believe the EU says that the Empire Era propaganda, was that Anakin was murdered by WIndu, when the Jedi attacked the Chancellor in the supposed coup. The general public didn't know Anakin was Vader - though he was one of the few Jedi not to be officially charged with Treason by the Empire.
Anyone else tear up a bit when Ahsoka talked about Ani? I only did cause I watched literally every episode of Clone Wars, and knew how close they were, and to hear she saw him rushing to chancellor, well that just broke my heart a bit!
I feel so sorry for Ashoka. You can see it in her eye that how much it hurts her the fact that her master is a Sith Lord. She knows it , but she cant accept it. I cant imagine that the person you cherished and loved the most is now a cold, bloodthirsty, and a cruel murderer. It must be so hard for her....
Legion and saying she’s wrong on what she did because the things he did in ep 3. People don’t know the difference between anakin and Vader for some reason.
M3M3L0RD if they used the anakin in clone wars the art style will be so different compare to rebels art style i agree tho this anakin looks like a bag of shit
‘The last time I saw him he was rushing off to see the chancellor.’ Crazy that they put this line in because at the time that wasn’t the last time Ahsoka saw Anakin. They didn’t have to have her say that and we would have been none the wiser. But the fact that she did makes it seem that Filoni and Co always wanted to tell an extra story within the clone wars era. I’m glad we finally got it :)
It was all planned in the Clone Wars before it was canceled. Filoni said that despite the episodes never airing, they had it in their headcanon that it always happened.
Revisiting this after watching the latest episode of clone wars (S07 E 09) makes complete sense. Ashoka says that the last time she saw him was when he left to save the chancellor and that's exactly what happened in that episode
+Joe Man I just assumed it was the outfit that Lightsaber instructors wear. One of the Masters probably asked him during a stop-off at the Temple to record a holocron of fighting tips for the Padawan's.
Ahsoka: looks elegant and beautiful in her older age. Anakin: looks like a roblox avatar. I feel bad for anyone watching TCW & Rebels chronologically after TCW S7 just finished. That new season is going to make this age horribly.
I teared up a little at seeing him and realizing that he really was dead, I know that this sounds really late but I grew up watching Star Wars the Clone Wars, I fell in love with Anikin and all the characters, I just realized that that one is gone
"He cared deeply for his friends." Sadly, the greatest rage and hatred, _true_ rage and hatred, can only be born from a foundation of love. The anger and hate you find in bigots is merely fear and ignorance in disguise.
Yeah she acted like an asshole, Now towards the end of their meeting they atleast started to open up more, but it wasn't enough and she distanced himself from anakin when they met for the first few times however I think ahsoka realized and talked to him more when they're alone, but again it wasn't enough and that guilt carried up till she fought vader, she could let go of everyone when she dropped her lightsabers, but could never let go of anakin. Which is why she still watches his recordings, talks fondly about him, medites to think and tring to find anakin throug the force. Still brings up his teachings, and still feels guilty and sadden for not being by anakin during the end of the war, which is the arc j want ahsoka to go through in her series, her being depressed when she thinks about anakin, throughout season 1, and by the end of season 1 she talks with anakins force ghost, they have an emotional conversation and in the end she forgives anakin and says thank you as she tells him how much he means to her as a brother as a family member. Anakin forgives ahsoka and tells her he will always be by her side whenever she needs him.
Headcanon: Obi made him put on nice clothes and actually brush his hair before recording a lesson for younglings. He probably spit on his thumb and wiped Ani's face like the #stressedmom he is
Who’s here after episode 9 of the newest clone wars season. “Last time I saw him he rushed off to save the chancellor”. We actually get to see this touching moment she’s talking about.
The fact that he gifted her 2 new lightsabers was beautiful. Its clear he had hoped she would return to the Order one day. He even modified blue crystals for her this time. He thought so highly of her. She kept him grounded all those years as a true friend & not just lecturing him like Palpatine & Obi-Wan.
Palpatine was constantly grooming, manipulating and emotionally abusing Anakin. He presents himself as a kind, accepting figure that gives Anakin what he so desperately craves (acceptance and approval). Palpatine was grooming Anakin to become Darth Vader. He tried to undermine Anakin’s relationships with Obi-wan and Padmé, when he kept Anakin isolated, when he maintain himself Anakin’s only confidant, when he lied, etc. His turn from a friendly, innocent boy to a emotionally unstable monster was a calculate one. Vader wasn’t an accident. He was the result. And the sad part is that no one noticed.
The Problem he was like a Father he never has. Obi Wan do his beste he also understamd him not and i dont want talk abouth the other ones. Its a shame i Clone Wars and the ep 2 &3 they were a great duo but papatine manipulate him. The others Jedi was Palps Helper...
This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi: trust in the Force. Do not return to the Temple. That time has passed, and our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged: our trust, our faith, our friendships. But we must persevere and in time a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you always.
Awwww, such a poignant scene in a pretty sad episode... I'm glad Clone Wars made Anakin so likable, which makes it so much more tragic to know what he is now. You know, since the prequels made him a bad egg from the start for some reason.
Cool Gamer I won't deny, there are things about the prequels I like... just on the whole I didn't think they worked. The good elements are there, they just kind of paled in comparison to the flaws.

Nah shes not that good.
@@jamessteiniger7016 So you don't think she is a great character because she wasn't in the movies?
That's litterely what you wrote.
Yikes, just because she wasn't in the main plot line doesn't mean that she was none existent, she had her own plot line and if you consider the 2008 clone wars to be cannon (which it factualy is) she had a big impact on the war and many of the characters in the third movie
She had a huge impact on the clone wars and Anikin as a person and made his fall seem a lot more belivable.
In the context of Star wars movies and tvshows/cartoons, there is not a single character better writen then her
Saying that her story was "mind numingly dumb" because it didn't have impact, quite litterely ignores that her entie plot points have HAD a HUGE impact and have served as a big build up to other characters
@@Liamnerfdude1 She is that good, extremly well writen, good character arcs, well developed and important.
You can't just write "NoT tHaT gOoD" that's not an argument.

@@boltmix7294 Damn straight~! To be honest, Ahsoka was how I started getting into Star Wars~ :) Loved her in Rebels and The Clone Wars.
For those of you who aren't familiar why she recalls the last time she saw him.
TCW was indeed cancelled but the concepts that weren't made into episodes in time are still considered canon. That being said
Seige of Mandalore is an episode that wasn't showed but the concept is:
Obi wan, Anakin are sent to Mandalore to deal with Maul, Ashoka also comes along reuniting with her former masters, until Anakin and Obi wan are called to save the chancellor from being held captive by Dooku. (The events of episode 3 happen) meanwhile Ashoka is left to deal with Maul alone, after basically having Maul beat, his defeat is short lived since Order 66 is executed causing Ashoka and Rex as well as Maul to go into hiding and part ways.
Aldair Reynoso I would have loved to see that episode, it would have showed how Episode 2 and 3 finally connected with TCW series.
That sounds like such an amazing episode. Can they please make that
FUCK REBELS, clone wars was sooo much better
Lol, I remember the original clone wars. Where grievous captured the chancellor and how he nearly killed shock tee and how mace windu was the reason he coughed in the beginning of episode 3. Ah good times.
I love how Ashoka remember Anakin... she knew his soft side, his inner self, the Anakin who smiled, the Anakin who cared deeply... when she said "People would be surprised by how kind he was" I believed I got goosepumps. Many people never knew that Anakin. Including us...
+pikppa
The relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka is one of my favorite things about the Star Wars extended universe.

Anakin was a famous war hero. I am sure 80% to 100% of the population on Coruscant saw him rush off to save the Chancellor. Ahsoka was probably watching the holonet and kicking herself saying "I should be there right now !"

Coruscant was under attack, and all planetary forces were mobilized. Every Jedi, Clone, and Law Enforcement was defending the city planet. Then the "President of the entire Galaxy", The Chancellor is kidnapped.

Crazy that they put this line in because at the time that wasn’t the last time Ahsoka saw Anakin.
Why couldn't they make him look more like who he was in the clone wars...

I think Ahsoka really was sad about how she acted to him in episode 9 of the clone wars season 7 in that scene....
Yeah she acted like an asshole,
Now towards the end of their meeting they atleast started to open up more, but it wasn't enough and she distanced himself from anakin when they met for the first few times however I think ahsoka realized and talked to him more when they're alone, but again it wasn't enough and that guilt carried up till she fought vader, she could let go of everyone when she dropped her lightsabers, but could never let go of anakin.

This is super relevant right now.
