"Mason needs you" is the message to OP. OP needs to message back is that what she needs is not to have caring for Mason ruin her life. OP's folks never were concerned about OP. They were only concerned as how they could use her. "I won't set myself on fire to keep others warm." is a perfect response to the parent's demands.

Mom; " How can you be so cold?!?"
Me; "... how? Easy! I learned that from both of you! Shouldn't you be proud of me?"

I wasn’t ignored but most of my early adult life. My families attention was on my sister with substance abuse issues! We basically had to take care of her children when her husband was deployed. It definitely changes how you think about family and what you want your life to be when you settle down.

the government will take charge of someone who is not capable to take care of himself...they have group homes ....etc. you are not the only option and don't let them trick you into doing something you don't want to... live your life by putting yourself first for a change....

I hate it when parents try that I made sacrifices for you who the hell asked you to

Those sacrifices are actually called children's rights, stuff the parents are required by law to provide. Far from what actual sacrifices actually are.
Of course you can't get parents like OPs to understand this.

@@vixxxenfoxxx3660more to the point the parents that complain usually fall short of those requirements.

Guardianship is not something that is can be done by force. Once they came into her workplace , they are past rational thought
