We begin another game, this time a race of reading between Arthur and his bratty sister. Enjoy.
Arthur's Reading Race is (C) 1997 Living Books/Wanderful Storybooks and (C) 1996 Marc Brown.
Oh my god, I have never forgotten this game! It filled most of me and my sister's childhood, we played it so much :D

I know, I remember 1998, playing on my Windows 98 PC, just a wee lad of 7 playing Arthur's reading race and others like the Tortoise in the Hare, God I miss my Childhood!🥺

I loved this game as a little kid! The music at the beginning when DW waits for you to pick a choice was playing in my head the other day!

I dont know why, but on 2:34-2:42, I laugh so hard. Maybe because of the way Arthur dances. Or it could be the music he dances to.
It's unusual how the flashback shows Arthur with his trademark glasses when he was in what appears to be preschool or kindergarten, when it was established in "Arthur's Eyes" (both the original book and the TV adaptation episode) that he got them in second grade. And then you have Binky with them as well, since the TV show established Binky was being held back in third grade and did not join up with the main gang until they started third grade as well. (The book here was published in 1996, around the same time as the TV show premiered.)
Zak Wolf it’s probably an alternative universe the living books aren’t really cannon to the tv series keep in mind a lot of franchises have alternative universes dc marvel and Star Wars comes to mind

Ahh the good ole days...Filled with PBS kids in the morning with some pancakes, a full box of crayons was the best thing in the world, a handheld cd player meant you were badass and not giving a single fuck about what was going on in the world.

This was my first ever PC game, oh my god. I became an Arthur fan..I was obsessed with this!

It might work if you resurface it, resurfacing only works so many times however before you would dig into the data layer.

When Arthur's mom tells Arthur at 9:47-9:49 that she heard something about birds being dinosaur descendants, she may be referring to the discoveries of feathered maniraptoran dinosaurs in China during the 1990s because Sinosauropteryx was discovered in 1996, the same year that Arthur's Reading Race was published.
I'm glad my memories will never be forgotten with these videos posted…

I loved this game growing up! I'd spend a whole hour starting over and listening to the theme song xD I'm going to be 18 in a week and I still want this game back! LOL i used to love the little running man as the courser XD

At 11:55, the music when Arthur's pillow turns into a ghost sounds exactly the same as the ghost music in Harry and the Haunted House.
