It’s a better money maker for NASCAR to have more eyes on races on channels accessible by HD antenna. The cords have all been cut; enough with propping up the dying USA Network. I feel like George’s girlfriend talking to him about Bozo: “Forget Bozo, George. Bozo's out. He's finished. It's *OVER* for Bozo.”

99.9% of the cars were half throttle is why he passed them. This car has killed racing, talladega was ruined because of half throttle. Larson wasn’t impressive if he passed them like he did at wilksboro last year then yea. Then nascar said here ya go it’s yours!!

@@tonyhuff3 I know why but it was still fun to watch and he continued to perform brilliantly even when the pace picked up. He was fast, and his game plan worked. Lining up behind Keselowski worked out but it’s not hard to imagine how that strategy could have gone horribly wrong.

The ending of that was ridiculous. That car was parked on the backstretch, without movement, for 3/4 of a lap. Any other time, nascar throws the yellow BEFORE the white. This time, they let the field take the white and then almost immediately throw the yellow to end of race? As Denny said, “all nascar fans are just looking for some consistency”

In most forks of Motorsports today the Row slides forward. Even dirt now. It’s not more fair for the lone car to start on his own because once the lead car bails the next car is entitled to a front row start. The only fair way is to re rack the field and that’s a nightmare on time.

When will NASCAR Officials get it right? A rule is a rule. You beat your teammate because you jumped the start which means you cheated. 100% clear video evidence of you breaking the rules. Same thing happens this week and it’s oh well no big deal. Every driver in NASCAR should know every rule. Do your homework!

Denny, thanks for the warning that the Brickyard will be a one groove race.
I get the Brickyard can be better with more passing, but I still enjoyed the race wondering when the #6 will run out of gas, Larson passing cars like crazy because of more fuel, and the different fuel strategies.
It seems like it is a crapshoot planning stops to manage fuel to make it at the end of the race because of the number of potential cautions due to drivers being more aggressive or cars running out of fuel.

First off, Denny, I always enjoy this podcast. Love your analysis and explanations and your candid commentary.
At first I absolutely thought the 5 jumped. (as in yelling at the tv that he jumped it) Then rewatching it my next thought was Blaney started to go and then after just an instant balked maybe in doubt as to whether he was actually the control car. Thanks Denny for clearing up what the SMT data revealed re that 1 or 2 mph edge for the 5 . Agree it didnt matter at the end of the day. Unless the 5 totally fubared the restart, he was gonna come out of that with the edge
1 st question is this - so if the 5 and 12 fire at exactly the same time, isnt that technically a violation by the 5? I always thought the rule is that the leader has to fire first but I guess its just the just that noone can fire before the leader (?)
Also, re the 6 - watching the race I was more than half expecting that the 6 would sputter when he tried to restart and accordion if not wreck the inside line. If they just stack up, Blaney is gone even though he restarted up top. If they actually wreck ,then Blaney chooses bottom on the ensuing restart. The bigger question is how the 6 ever go so far beyond the expected fuel window to begin with especially since he was the leader for a significant number of laps. Yall were saving like heck to try and go 48, the 6 is out there leading and went what , like 56 or something crazy, and these are 2.5 mile laps. I know Brad has always been good at extending on fuel, but holy cow.
And the 6 waiting so long to give up hope and go ahead and pit I mean at that point stay out and pull down to the apron immediately is fairer to the 12 than for the 6 pull off that late and move the whole inside line up. And the guy that got screwed was another Ford ! As soon as that caution fell they couldnt have possibly thought they would be able to finish without pitting. At Nashville when the 11 was praying they could make it but then heard the 19 had balked on the prior restart so they realized they also HAD to pit, neither the 11 nor the 19 waited until 100 yards from the green flag to finally pull off. Should they consider making it a rule that if you take the one to go then you are committed to attempt the restart and cant pit coming to green
And oh yeah, not throwing the caution when the 41 wrecked was just an awful decision

Blaney got shafted, with the 6 pealing off they should have ran another caution lap to reset the field in so that Blaney has time to decide where he wants to line up which the rule states he was intitled to do so, then also Kyle launches before Blaney which was against the rule because Blaney was the control car. Blaney has a legitimate grip!

You can't really dictate when crashes happen that turn the races into fuel milage battles though. So, what do you do? It's not like someone is out there making this happen, it's organic and as a fan, especially with the gimmicks they've put in place over the recent years, it's nice having organic events shake things up.
I mean, the stages are gimmicks, the playoff elimination is a gimmich and so is the championship race. I'll lett he stages go, but the other two? They both need the boot. Keep the point system, add 3 pts for leading the most laps, 1 pt for leading a lap and 1 pt for pole position, then give another 10 pts to race winners, but get rid of the playoff. Let's see what this system looks like in a full season format!
