You can have a 1000hp and still be in the 18 seconds if the driver suck balls. Hell, when I had my 2005 Sunfire, I could keep up with a Mustang that had a shitty driver. He gained on me after a while, but that shows how you should never judge someone by his car as it can mean next to nothing.

Where can I find more about the specs on this Cooper... and has the title been reclaimed since then. Need some more info on this like, Modified original 1.6L or has there been a swap done.. 10.3 is great... but has there been better?
As far as I know it’s still got the standard 1.6 tritec non supercharged engine that’s been turboed and forged. The car is in the UK though and we don’t have titles here, we just have registration documents

Here is another prim example on the mini cooper made by bmw, the key fab on a 2003 mini cooper s, has a cool trick, push the unlock on the key fab and push a second time and hold, the windows and moon roof open, dont know if all do that or not, but that is a BMW thing.

My dad had a 2006 Lincoln zephyr that did that. Without touching the remote, you'd wake up to find all the windows and moon roof open with snow inside the interior.

+Robert Aldridge Turbod R50. The 56 didn't come in that body style, and it only has the 1 exhaust and no hood scoop. And it's definitely the old body style because the headlights are attached to the hood, and the blinkers are separate. (also, the R53 only came supercharged)

I don’t know if I’d want flat front tires for steering when racing.
Doug Harlow it’s for extra traction off the line when drag racing, even track cars run a lower air pressure than a standard car.
@@jedrose6684 I realize that, but running through the traps at deceleration with your steering tires flat must be wobbly. I know the 1st time I made a hard pass with low air pressure on the back tires made me wide eyes at the finish. Going from full tire expansion to flat, I thought I lost something, and your doing it on the front steering tires, must feel unstable? Thanks, fun video

Its a drag tyre, they run a low pressure on the front to maximise grip off the line.

Nw.Caffers It does look a little flat. I would have thought the last thing you'd want to do is run a low pressure. You'd lose your optimum contact patch. Afterall he isn't racing across soft sand...

Why would more downforce on rear wheels make it better for a fwd :s?????
+Daniel m More downforce would mean more drag on the car and slow it down. Since there is no turning in drag racing, there isn't much of a need for downforce. Gaining more traction off the line would be more important as I don't think they had major traction struggles above 70 mph especially when compared to off the line ;-)
How come my r53 does 141 mph and 0-60 in 5 seconds ? I think my car would either come close to this car or would beat it .I have a Cooper s with stock air intake modded heads and exhaust pulley . Can anyone do the math or do I have to find the quarter mile time for to see how much of a clown I am making of myself on here lol . If its miles behind this car I am going to put an m3 engine in it and smoke the world record

I know 11 people that have used them. they are just interested in power and not the customer for reliability with a £3k new engine build up their shirt!

Go to a reputable Mini Specialist like Sussex Road and Race who know the limits of your car inside out!
Couldn't disagree more mate, been going to 1320 (with my old R53 & now my Clubby) for 11 years, never had a problem, both had upgrades for 'fast reliable power', which is what they recommended & what I wanted for road & the occasional track outing. There's a reason why people come from all over Europe to 1320, & it's not for the coffee....

That's not a mini. If the motors that modified and you added a big turbo any mini could hold that record
So in that case there is no such thing as a "9 second (and under) XYZ" as you believe a car has to be stock to hold a record under its own name.
+Alvin Rohani I mean like moderately built, take for example, you have a bone stock 5.3 lm7 and you slap a cam and good fuel system and file fit the rings, and slap a 80mil turbo on it, it will make over 1000hp, and that's with bone stock internals. you take a n11 engine, forge everything, spend tons of money and make 400hp. this was a completly custom car that is literally one of a kind, i dont mean disrespect on the car, its a monster but I'm saying it's not a true true mini, all custom.
It's still running the stock engine and gearbox from a basic Mini One.
