More than a DIY Boba Fett's Helmet, you gave us a lesson of friendship, good will and patience. You are a good friend, Dave. Greetings from Brazil! Hope you safe. Stay home.
Silvio, thanks for watching and taking time to write the incredibly kinds words! Really appreciate it. Hope all of you are doing well in Brazil too...I am staying home! Thanks.
What a great gift for your friend George. Smashing build and paint job man. I'm currently building a Rocketeer helmet, but absolutely intend on attacking Boba or the Mandalorian next. Sweet video
Dave, Thank you for the video.. This has to be the best DIY video I have ever seen, Your commentary and tips are awesome and entertaining, and the fact that you give credit where due speaks volumes about your character. I haven't looked at anything else you have done yet, but going there now. Just wanted to make sure to let you know great video and I look forward to seeing more in the future.
Your helmet looks great and thanks for the mention! I really like the concept for your channel and look forward to checking out your other videos. Great work
+The Prop Master with Robert Walker thanks so much! Really means a lot. Appreciate the time you took to make the plans and the awesome instructional videos. Thanks for sharing your time and talents!
WOW! I think this is all I can say...I am not that big a Star Wars fan (my kid is, hence this video) but I sat thru the whole thing. You put a lot of work and might I add love into this project. I loved all the positive comments about being a good friend. And I am glad we got to see George's reaction!! Do you make these for sale? Great job and way to go! Oh and happy early May the Force Day!
Thanks Shawn! Appreciate you and your son checking it out. I don't make them for sale, but do think there is one coming out through Hasbro's "The Black Series" line that you'd be able to buy. Thanks again and hope tomorrow is fun for you too!
Great video, man! My friend and I are going to start working on mandalorian costumes once this whole quarintine thing is over so this will be very helpful to us.
That is so nice! You seem to be a really caring and amazing friend. And sometimes the best present to give yourself. is to give to others. We need more people like you. And the helmet is very nice too. :D
Hey Daniel! Thanks for the watching. In the description I linked to Robert Walker's build videos and plans (they're great) that I referenced for my build. Have fun!
Thanks for the excellent video. I make a lot of props and when I come up with my next project I always fish around for some good videos to see what other people have done. Thought I’d say thanks for the really fun video, you’ve given me some really useful tips and ideas :)
Amazing work Here are a few tips on your way 1# get a heating gun and heat parts that are round like the top dome. Makes it faar easier 2# if you have the time and Interest, make a mold of the Helmet and then you can just make Resin casts of it in an hour and you got one helmet more ( not really a tip but a idea) 3# wear a respirator while working with barge and when sanding EVA
Thanks for watching, glad you like it! With your tips (thanks for them): 1: We got a heat gun since making this, it's awesome! 2: Definitely want to play with molds/casts 3: Weather permitting, we open up all the windows and have the fan going full tilt when working with the barge. Otherwise we'll have masks on. Regardless, that point should have been made (same with the EVA). Thanks!
Hi Harri! Thanks for watching. Most of it we made together. We did buy toy gauntlets (they launched foam discs) because we were running out of time before Halloween that year.
You can definitely use the template with cardboard. Only thing to keep in mind is the difference in material thickness. The foam I used was about a half inch thick, so if your cardboard is thinner you'll end up with more room on the inside of the helmet (not necessarily a bad thing). Make sense? Also, saw your icon is a loot llama, awesome! Did you see the episode where my son and I build a loot llama out of cardboard? Thanks for watching!
Make For Others oh lol!! I will check out the loot llama episode definitely!! Thanks for the info! I’ll end up making this boba helmet.. I don’t mind having some extra room inside the helmet because I want this mostly for display. Thanks again man!! I subscribed for sure
Howdy! Your helmet looks perfect! I have a Boba Fett helmet myself it's a Rubies Deluxe and I Just wanted to ask what should I do/use to darken the visor? Do I use a protective screen as well? Also How do I make sure the visor doesn't fog up when I wear it?
Thanks for watching! The visors I've worked with were tinted to begin with, but the video series I referenced (by Propmaster Robert Walker) used window tinting material. That could help. As for fogging up I'm not sure! It hasn't been a problem when we've worn it for short time periods in mild weather.
Thanks! The main shell is from exercise mats. About 1/2 an inch thick. The other stuff (if I remember correctly) is around 5mm (much thinner). Hope your build goes great!
It's always been helpful to me to remember that the first time I make something doesn't have to be the last time I make it. So, try your best with the tools and supplies you have and go from there. Thank you for watching!
Hey again! So I plan on using these templates to make my own helmet. I finished printing them out and cutting them, but I was unsure of the size. What scaling did you use? I made sure the templates were scaled to 100%, and it's on regular printing paper. Did you have to scale it up for the adult size, or did you simply print it at the default 100% scale?
+Szczupakson 369 there is a link in the description to Propmaster Robert Walker where he gives the plans and talks through the steps in detail on his TH-cam channel. Hope this helps!

+darren86420 you should try it! Thought about doing one for the jet pack. It might be a little while with the other projects going on. Found a pepakura (papercraft) file and put fiberglass on the inside to harden. The missle was turned on a lathe by a friend and the rocket engines were 3d printed. Took a while, but definitely worth it. Thanks for watching!

Is it fine to use regular paint instead of spray paint?
Hi Dylan! I applied paint with a brush for some of the areas and to touch up other parts. For me, it worked for this project. Good luck!
