French Quarter here: We had a man, lying DEAD on the sidewalk, next to the Cathedral (the Cabildo)...it was hours before police showed up...the building staff came out and put up a metal fence barricade, covered his remains.... and draped ithe fence they'd made with sheets, out of respect for the decedent...

Adult daughter was home, adult son came to the home . ....the Police had a poor response time, I agree. In the meantime of the cops arriving you are not trained to protect yourself and your family? Ain't no way my mother is in this position, and I'm mad waiting for the cops. Father, stepfather whoever is going to have to deal with my tiny self, protecting My Momma, my family....How horrific and sad

Sounds like New Orleans needs to significantly incresse its police budget. Where do voters stand? Exceedingly fund the police or defund the police? That's the difference.
cops do this if they know the women will not leave and will always come back, if you do not leave no one will save you
Ok wait, I understand the police is there to protect and serve but at what point will people stop blaming them and take responsibility for fact that police cannot and should not be held responsible for two people always fighting who should have never been married and caused themselves harm?? So it’s the police’s fault she married a crazy man and their relationship is dysfunctional ? It was bound to happen sooner or later.
No I don’t believe that it is NOPD fault of who she chose to marry but I do believe the response time could have made a difference in saving or losing her life. It’s sad to see how we as a society have become so insensitive to another person’s pain and or tragedy that we make these comments without really thinking about the implications because we are not experiencing it.
