Little more nit picky but the lack of a 50 wave emblem for the harder version + shiny weapons not being different from their normal counterparts just adds more to the pile of why onslaught 2.0 is worse

@2:50 Yes, but at least with red borders, they're on a knockout system meaning that eventually I'll get the pattern even if I never get a single regular drop of the weapon.
To me the biggest issue is the fact that the loot pool is the same for all the activities, why play something with no loot ? And this season is the worst, onslaught without Brave weapons and/or shiny rolls ? Tomb of elders with no new weapons/armor and will disapear with the next expansion ? Bungie is just shitting on us at this point

Bungie said that they made all the story content available on the first day of the new episode. This was a change that they hyped up claiming it would be better than the drip feed they were doing. This episode comprised of one mission one cutscene and 3x seasonal event. Could you imagine Bungie drip feeding this "content" over weeks and weeks.
the activities are alright, but the quality of rewards is the worst it has ever been. i have little motivation to play because i want my time respected. sure, i can play for fun but i want loot. i dont go to my job for fun- i go to get paid. i need meaningful loot that respects the time and effort to clear the activity so i can be motivated to run the content.
You are 100% right, crafting did nothing wrong and a majority of D2 content creators are spoiling the game for the rest of the remaining playerbase. The dungeons are where your shitty little loot chase is, its their entire purpose, stay there
@@Tycholarfero D2 players are RNG gambling addicts, its all bout the feeling of dropping a GOD ROLL, thats the problem, thats why they hate crafting...
Preach, this whole tonic system is crap. If you pop a tonic, that should be the weapon that drops, period. It's annoying as hell. I literally ran a tomb of elders, had the tonic for the smg to drop, got all hand cannons.
What's worse is paying for an episode only to realize they removed what you paid for which was red borders and presented to you with less powerful weapons. Besides the lackluster episode story and gameplay that's not innovated. Hence, they buff them up for the episode only to nerf them in the next update and make them completely useless. Bungie themselves can't find a medium because they never made one and you can all thank the leaders at that company. I recommend trying Warframe over this game based on the issue D2 has those things are vastly different on there and will make you feel that you aren't wasting time.
Focus tonics don’t work, perks still feel weighted. Farming shotgun for days now and haven’t seen closing time. I also did an entire run focusing shotgun and didn’t get one. Got 5 hand cannons. F this
You know what could help with the problem of "fighting the loot pool?" CRAFTING, YEAH THAT THING THAT BUNGIE TOOK OUT OF THE SEASONAL PROGRESSION FOR SOME REASON. I knew this would come back into a circle. Pure idiots running this game, man.
In regards to the loot pool problem, they could also implement Warframe's ABC reward rotator. I haven't played ACT II at all, but something like ACT I first room, ACT II next, repeat ad finatum. That way, a new player in ACT III can still get everything at a decent pace. I'd still want an attunement system, regardless too.
My biggest issue is if they want crafting gone we need a more permanent solution to vault space because now instead of me getting all the weapon patterns this season and only crafting the weapons that I will use I only got one or two weapons to get
tbf this is mainly because we as a community can't decide on a reward structure to like & because bungie willy nilly changes the reward structure everytime there's a big enough stir we've had like 8 reward structures over the coarse of D2 alone, it's insane
Honestly they need to make sharing a thing like the Division. Make it to where we can drop weapons and gear to other people who are less fortunate. That’s what I’ll forever praise about The Division series is sharing loot, build variety and the gameplay.
To me there are 2 ways to fix tonics. 1 They work through the till the end of the next/current activity. Or 2 you can use multiple at the same time so the timers are significantly longer. Or even better, both, so I can set them all at the beginning of a session and not have to worry about a few minor buffs every 20mins.
The biggest issue has to be removing pinnacle activity rewards from certain activities without adding new or different ways to gain pinnacle levels. It is especially bad because, the definitive event in the episode usually requires you to be at a high power level. Getting plus 1 pinnacles from select activities and having to pray you get the right pinnacles from the raid is not fun.
They need to fix the pinnacle drops, too. I've needed a 2010 helmet to get to Max for three weeks. I do every pinnacle I can and still no helm. It is frustrating
The tonic system was a half baked idea that got pushed through to release when all it would have taken was 3 additional seconds of logical thought to realize that it is trash fire terrible. The volatile tonics are at least serviceable, if I'm being generous. The enriching tonics are garbage and need to be taken out back and shot. Twice. They do NOT work. At all. Getting 5 ignition codes before a single Chroma Rush while using the Chroma Rush tonic is asinine. If this is the future of weapon "focusing" in exchange for crafting or even previous onslaught focusing, then I want nothing to do with it.
I don’t mind the episode structure and it gives variety. But my issue is just how formulaic the activities feel. Contest of elders has the exact same encounters every time you run it and only the order is random. It’s just dull to run back to back as you already know what’s coming. They should have implemented the same score system from the menagerie to speed up runs and allow for more randomness.
I 100% agree with you. I am having the same issue all the contest of elders drops have been hand cannons and GLs. Even with a tonic in use for the weapon I am trying to farm for it still has the old weapons in that as well and get those more than the focused weapon. It's is terrible!
@Jereb343 You still have to do that even when chasing craftable weapons the only difference is instead of spending 4000 hours trying to get a weapon that will be nerfed in a few months, you play till you get what you want add discover a shocking fact that you actually enjoy the activity when you're not chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
@@alextheabysskiller7209 you could literally just log in every week to buy the guaranteed red border (people got upset when a season didn't include a weekly guaranteed red border upgrade) or just spend the deepsight harmonizers we got to get the pattern right away
Honestly, the decision to remove crafting and adding the current loot system for episodes is not to address players concerns but actually try to get people to play the game for longer sessions, but Bungie forgets that the majority of players don't have the luxury of playing for an extended amount of time, and they end up alienating most of the player base and thus driving them away and instead play any other game, this is another season that putting the least amount of hours, haven't even finished my first 100 tiers of the battle pass...
It’s quite annoying that the one chest on the left in elders doesn’t give anything. I guarantee if the chest was bugged in a way where we were able to hit it unlimitedly for loot it would already be patched. I bet that chest doesn’t give loot the entire act.
I actually like the Tonic system as a focus tool more than the onslaught variant. I think if they had an auto refresh option for the tonics it would change everything, because I do forget to use my tonics all the time. Altough I see completing the act 2 activities increased the duration which is helpful so expect act 3 tonics to probably last an hour and half. Reason why I think the tonic focus system is good is because I can pop a tonic and get bonus versions of that specific weapon from ANY activity in the game or from just randomly killing guys while doing literally anything. This means while doing any other activities, (raids, dungeons, GM nightfall, pale heart, strikes, dares, gambit) I am still getting drops of the weapon I am trying to farm. I don't have to only farm the seasonal activity to get the drops. Also you have the potential to get way more drops as you can get the weapons from enemies not just activity chests or completions. I do agree that the normal drops should be focused to the activity your doing. For example the episode 1 weapons should only drop from that activity normally, but if im still farming a weapon from that pool i can use a tonic to focus that in the act 2 activity if I wanted while only the act 2 weapon dropped from that activity. As for episodic content. I think the allowing everything to be completed day 1 in a season/episode was a good choice for story elements. I think for gameplay progression and unlocks it was a bad choice for this episode in particular and this could be something that is fixed or worked out better later. This was a last minute pivot and adjusting this episode to that new day 1 system is probably what cause a lot of issues. I think slowly unlocking the tonic systems and upgrades through the act would have allowed a better learning system to be in place for people to learn and understand how to use them rather then dumping all the tonic mechanics day 1 and expecting people to understand it. It also would have let the fieldwork mission bugs get worked out before it drastically impacted the entire communities experience. Hoping they have a better learning/progression system in place for episode 3 so people don't get lost with whatever mechanics they introduce for that episode.
add on top of inflating the loot pool we have fomo as everything will be gone, and often by the time its even worth farming for weapons, crafting has just highlighted the issues of destinys loot drops, what we need is the chalice from season of opulence, potions are meant to be like that but have used the sidearm one in multiple runs of the new activity and seen zero -.-
my biggest personal issue is that the rates on the tonics actually giving you what youre focusing for seems really low, i dont think they are working right
Doing constest of elders for the smg. I got a jolting feedback with unrelenting but no reload increasing perks sadly. So even though I’m farming for the SMG with tonics the shotgun and hand cannon still drops more often than anything, to the point I never see any other weapons from the season
Crafting can actually saves a lot of storage spaces, and saves A LOT of grinding time which is ( to be honest) most of the new act activities and quite tedious & boring ( even with the ads randomness ). And no we dont want Tonics, cant keep up with the timer, the extra buffs to proc certain perks, again be mindful it might run out midfight & to manually reapply. No no no... Im glad a youtuber actually talks about this.
On top of all that, you dont always get tomb flake when you complete a run is just kinda annoying imo..Also, I feel like it was a missed opportunity to bring back the old prison weapons....
First they fixed the extra perk drop of world weapon , secondary the Shiny drop chance is a myth . I don’t know what Dev doing right now , Your can have 4 perk weapon cause of bug ( but that so much better everytime world weapon drop ) now they fixed that and only drop in complete lost sector with 3 perk ( wtf ) more perk options is the way player seek for better loot ( master raid challenge reward ) and they don’t even realize , that doesn’t break the game , instead of chasing 5/5 god roll , now is 7/7 cause extra perk .
Hmm, if only there was a way to solve the issue of not getting the drops you wanted, maybe by letting players find special versions of the weapons they want, and after collecting enough of those special versions, maybe 5, you’d have access to all the god rolls. And maybe you could focus one of those special versions for a weapon of your choice each week, so you’d never have to worry about being screwed over by bad rng, and could get all the weapons you wanted, even if you had bad luck farming. If only we had a system like that in game for our seasonal loot.
Crafting definitely spoiled us. I personally like the NEW seasonal weapons not being craftable. But I think the reprised weapons should be craftable. Same with raid weapons. The newest raids weapons should not be craftable but when the raid gets reprised 2 years later they should become craftable. But also I agree with what you're saying about the way loot works right now its almost pointless to play acts 1 and 2. The tonics suck at focusing as well. But I am not too upset by it all. Bungie is trying to find a way to make things work and that requires some trial and error. Hopefully in act 3 the tonics actually work properly though.
Not only does it suck to get 50 weapons I don't need. The contest of elders is buggy af, the dungeon is buggy af, I feel unrewarded for my time. Half the time, the tonics work as there are moments where I'm getting so much, and then I don't get em for the rest of the tonic. The double loot in the dungeon has been atrocious for me. Rng feels like trash. I would rather have no crafting of a weapon with the ability to focus it than have crafting.
I hear and agree with you, and so does my clan - the new loot should have just been available on Act 2 activities to and Act 1 loot confined to onslaught activities to target farm with the tonics.
I think seasonal activities should have pathfinders just like the pale heart but a focusing weapon method so people will atleast have weekly chances on all their characters...
I have been stuck on 2009 gauntlets through 50+ pinnacle drops and therefore cannot get 2010. They need to have better focusing options for everything!
The tonics ruined it for me, because the thing that every destiny player loves is new material to farm (which they always eventually get rid of but for some reason introduce it in new content). Also onslaught salvation is a worse version of normal onslaught. Plus this episode feels so buggy. I try playing this episode but I just get so bored.
They should have made it so completing certain objectives in each mode awards a certain weapon. Focusing is just another layer to the system of rng that doesn’t add anything meaningful to the game.
Armor needs to stop dropping unless attuned for, farming a featured raid/dungeon etc for a specific weapon roll and have 70% of your drops being armor is stupid. If it's not artifice I'll never need more than 1 of any armor piece.
Ngl playing other looter shooters (First Descendant, Borderlands, Divsion), I realize Destiny 2 kinda sucks in the looter aspect of a looter shooter. In those games, you can get xyz loot from mission completions, boss kills, chests/interactables in the open world, and even just common enemies. D2 kinda does that, but you get like one weapon and an armor piece; other games, you’ll leave and activity with like 15+ items dropped, between killing enemies/bosses, looting chests, and just doing the activity.
ALSO I PAID FOR THE PREVIOUS SEASON PASS BUT I COULDN'T PLAY SO BUNGIE REMOVES IT WHEN A NEW SEASON IS ADDED, SO ALL THAT LOOT FROM THE PREVIOUS SEASON (RED DEATH, EXOTIC ENGRAMS, DEEPSIGHT HARMONIZERS ETC) BUNGIE SCAMMED ME!!! WHY HASN'T ANYONE TAKEN BUNGIE TO COURT FOR THE REMOVING OF SEASON PASSES THAT YOU PAID FOR???
IMHO they brought back Onslaught way too soon and no sane person wants to do something that time consuming for the most optimal payout for sidegrade whatever seasonal loot. Brave weapons were excellent and worth chasing. This also doesn't get into general burnout where everybody ran Onslaught to death, and sure it deserves more locations and expansion, but it's just not appealing when none of the stuff you really care about.
Tonics are so ass bruh💀if the weapon specific tonics aren’t gonna guarantee the weapon that it’s a tonic for on a drop then there needs to be a drastic increase in drops. Also they’re never gonna have separate pools bc you’ll get the rolls so much faster and play less for the act 2 and 3 weapons and they can’t have that. They love artificially inflating playtime

I just want focusing back no reason they got rid of it when before crafting we were able to focus for our weapons
I love the hamster wheel that doesn't respect my time investment. 🙃
its a RNG loot base game its not gonna respect your time no matter what
Destiny player when the live service grind game wants you to spend a ton of time grinding

Destiny player at 00:00 - I don't want to farm anymore, bring crafting back.

@@vanillite4216 So stop crying and go farm your little gun for days and never get what you want
@@Raio_arma what are you yapping about lmao
You are 100% right, crafting did nothing wrong and a majority of D2 content creators are spoiling the game for the rest of the remaining playerbase. The dungeons are where your shitty little loot chase is, its their entire purpose, stay there
@@Tycholarfero D2 players are RNG gambling addicts, its all bout the feeling of dropping a GOD ROLL, thats the problem, thats why they hate crafting...
Yea, agreed. Honestly, Im not really feeling these acts overall... I love the dungeon and MAYBE Iron Banner, but that's about it. 😢
I have no issue.
I don’t play.
Real
Preach, this whole tonic system is crap. If you pop a tonic, that should be the weapon that drops, period. It's annoying as hell. I literally ran a tomb of elders, had the tonic for the smg to drop, got all hand cannons.
exactly cant focus the weapon through engrams so whats the point of making revenant engrams
Gotten 100+ bitter/sweets, none with envious arsenal/ bns. It is indeed frustrating. The tonics feel bugged a lot of the times too
What's worse is paying for an episode only to realize they removed what you paid for which was red borders and presented to you with less powerful weapons.
My biggest issue is if they want crafting gone we need a more permanent solution to vault space because now instead of me getting all the weapon patterns this season and only crafting the weapons that I will use I only got one or two weapons to get
tbf this is mainly because we as a community can't decide on a reward structure to like & because bungie willy nilly changes the reward structure everytime there's a big enough stir
we've had like 8 reward structures over the coarse of D2 alone, it's insane
They should have implemented the same score system from the menagerie to speed up runs and allow for more randomness.
making this seasons weapons non-craftable was a huge mistake
I 100% agree with you. I am having the same issue all the contest of elders drops have been hand cannons and GLs. Even with a tonic in use for the weapon I am trying to farm for it still has the old weapons in that as well and get those more than the focused weapon. It's is terrible!
See what happens when we have no crafting!!!
You have to play the videogame to earn rewards and we all know that's every destiny players worst nightmare
@@Jereb343Destiny has had crafting for almost 4 years, did you just join yesterday?
@Jereb343
You still have to do that even when chasing craftable weapons
the only difference is instead of spending 4000 hours trying to get a weapon that will be nerfed in a few months, you play till you get what you want add discover a shocking fact that you actually enjoy the activity when you're not chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
@@Jereb343wtf are you on about? we have to play the game red borders or to get engrams for red borders
@@alextheabysskiller7209 you could literally just log in every week to buy the guaranteed red border (people got upset when a season didn't include a weekly guaranteed red border upgrade) or just spend the deepsight harmonizers we got to get the pattern right away
I still have to be convinced that tonics are not bugged. Never seem to actually get the weapons that the tonic should focus.
When they said that the person running rewards at the time would become game director, I was concerned. Now we are seeing the results of that.
Bring back crafting>>
Hoping they have a better learning/progression system in place for episode 3 so people don't get lost with whatever mechanics they introduce for that episode.
add on top of inflating the loot pool we have fomo as everything will be gone, and often by the time its even worth farming for weapons, crafting has just highlighted the issues of destinys loot drops, what we need is the chalice from season of opulence, potions are meant to be like that but have used the sidearm one in multiple runs of the new activity and seen zero -.-
my biggest personal issue is that the rates on the tonics actually giving you what youre focusing for seems really low, i dont think they are working right
Menagerie and hunt weapon perk pool narrowing was really cool and I think it would help a lot.
The only reason I'd go back to onslaught is to complete a couple more triumphs
On top of all that, you dont always get tomb flake when you complete a run is just kinda annoying imo..Also, I feel like it was a missed opportunity to bring back the old prison weapons....
tbh i don't even want to farm act 1, been doing too much onslaught in into the light😂 now a seasonal activity doing the same thing?
Tedious is the right word, the system now is redundant. Thx for being one of the few who calls it like it is.
I can't even make the tonics lol. After I gather resources nothing pops up for me to make the potion and taste test it
Hmm, if only there was a way to solve the issue of not getting the drops you wanted, maybe by letting players find special versions of the weapons they want, and after collecting enough of those special versions, maybe 5, you’d have access to all the god rolls.
I hear and agree with you, and so does my clan - the new loot should have just been available on Act 2 activities to and Act 1 loot confined to
onslaught activities to target farm with the tonics.
I think seasonal activities should have pathfinders just like the pale heart but a focusing weapon method so people will atleast have weekly chances on all their characters...
Let alone the tonics haven't worked for me either, where's the mastered worked guns with double perks?
I have been stuck on 2009 gauntlets through 50+ pinnacle drops and therefore cannot get 2010. They need to have better focusing options for everything!
I don't even bother to play the activities since they aren't crafted.
Rng in destiny is awful.
when you pop a shotgun tonic and get 8 smgs, 4 handcannons, a couple gls, and no shotguns in a contest of elders run 😹😹
Who couldve though removing crafting from the most boring, stale, and mind-numbing activities in the game would be awful?
I haven’t taken a tonic In a month. Completely forgot about them.
I got on for the first time in like 5 months and then immediately closed the app after checking out the last city
I thought they actually messed up when I saw that I could focus Exuviae again. Like why would they have us do that???
Im ok with no craftable option weapons but definitely think we should have attunement.
Brosky have you played warframe ? Sometimes I wonder what kind of builds you would make if you played that game too
I agree. I'm not going to interact with the season. Just campaign stuff, dual destiny, raids, etc. Until they mess that up somehow.
Using the word punish is so hyperbolic 🤣🤣
the armour drops in this season is absolute dog water, barely reaching 60 stat roll is insane
This is the most I’ve played Destiny in years and I have no idea why.
I just said "screw it" when I knew they weren't craftable. Who farms weapons anymore? There's 3000 other ones that are as good. No point to it.
Why can’t we just focus decode engrams to get the weapon we want?
Tonics are so ass bruh💀if the weapon specific tonics aren’t gonna guarantee the weapon that it’s a tonic for on a drop then there needs to be a drastic increase in drops. Also they’re never gonna have separate pools bc you’ll get the rolls so much faster and play less for the act 2 and 3 weapons and they can’t have that. They love artificially inflating playtime
I hate the tonics i havent been able to play a ton this season. I havent unlocked them all and man i keep having to get more materials. Its irritating.
I only thing I know is that my vault is suffering
Less modifiers. Less rng. Less champions. Let people play when they want with the gear they want.
Certainly, a lot of this will be applicable in the future, but we only have one more episode, so critique this particular model won't do much Imo
I should've watched the whole video before commenting lol
You also gotta remember that most people do not play the game as a job like youtubers and streamers
I haven’t even started act1 nor will I until act 3 is out the thing they should do is release the acts all at once and be done with it
yes it does.. still don’t have jolting feedback on the smg nd i’ve been grinding
I just try to have fun until Frontiers, a lot of great changes are coming then. Very hyped
Those tonic force us to grind
