As a Penn Stater and wrestling fan, couldn’t be more proud of this young man. He overcame injury, a rough final NCAA tournament, and dominated this Olympics trial. Congrats to Spencer Lee

As a (non-Iowa) die hard wrestling fan I am super super happy for Spencer. He’s been a class act since day one, never made excuses and finally gotten to the point where it’s his time. No doubt he will qualify the weight and medal in Paris. Go get em kiddo

@@salvajeasp757 Carter was clearly at a disadvantage with the huge weight disparity. Throw in the injury also. Valencia tossed the brick back because he knew he made the error and would then be down 2.

So what steps are needed for him to qualify and make the Olympic team?
He has to qualify the weight next month in turkey. Top 3 finish
First he has to go to the last chance weight qualifiers in Turkey and place top 3. The competition will include the unqualified reps from all over the world including RBY. Then all he has to do is win the Olympics :P
How difficult is the next tournament to qualify?
Very difficult!!! Odds are against Spencer because of all the competition, plus Spencer has to place at the top!!!!

He only needs 3rd or better, doesn't have to win it to qualify

Even tho he won the trials, the is still hasn’t qualified 57kg for the Olympics so he has to go to another tournament and place top 3 to qualify 57kg for the Olympics

Parents need to control their kids. Kids screaming and hollering for autographs and pictures right after big wins or loses is getting out of hand and their parents need to realize that. These guys are more than memorabilia.
